What's happened to all the very reasonably priced own-label 500ml shampoos Aldi and Lidl used to sell - around 69p for 500ml, as I recall?

They seem to have been replaced by much smaller 300ml bottles at around the same price.

Not aware of anything that would have increased production costs, so presumably it's just the usual case of charging what the market will bear?

They are 400ml and 55p. Similar to the 69p Carino in Aldi (which both are copying Alberto Balsam - and far better/thicker I should)
    PK! :money:

LidL Aromata cling film: Sticks to itself, tangles, blade in wrong place (should be on box corner not on flimsy flap). AVOID.

Thanks - they're back again in our local Aldi/Lidl stores. Shampoo's basically shampoo, whatever label it has on it, and the idea of paying stupid money for a 'brand' appals me.

Much as it does buying any brand for that matter! :)

Horrible stuff. It smelled like toilet cleaner and tasted even worse.
    I binned it.

Um... how do you know what toilet cleaner tastes like?

    Of shouldn't I ask?

Aldi are selling Oatibix (like Weetabix but made from oats) at the moment for a reasonable enough £1.99.

Is anyone aware of an Aldi or Lidl (or any other) own-brand equivalent?

Goes against the grain (sorry) to be buying a brand, but there seems to be no generic version, and the wife's wheat-intolerant.

There isn't. I suspect they may be too expensive to produce.

They both have Oat crunchy cereal/Granola that I think is all oats & no wheat.

I'm a Lidl virgin, but everyone raves about so much wanted to try it for a weekly shop! What are your opinions on their meat and fish. Good quality and value or should I shop elsewhere for that? Prices are so low I sometimes worry where they come from...

Give it a try, check out the meat and fish and just buy 1 or 2 just to try. Remember to take your bags.

I bought in bulk (4 packs of 24) from Amazon's pantry for £1.09 per pack recently. I don't even eat the stuff but my one year old niece loves it :D
