  • Hi Lee, posting my email reply here as well. For anyone thinking of moving to Vodafone since now Christmas is creeping in and they'll try and lure more people in...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE think very carefully about it-it's not a coincidence so many people have shared their experiences here. I know I'll end up resorting to SCC unless there's some magical resolution Lee is able to come up with and I shall update you on the outcome. They should never be able to get away with such behaviour.

    Hi Lee,

The ombudsman have failed to come to a more satisfactory decision and they can only credit my Vodafone account with an extra £216 on top of the £150 goodwill gesture. Unfortunately since I have been charged an average of £75pm on a contract which should have been £36pm for two years I cannot accept this and I intend to close my account as soon as possible, and I have therefore rejected their decision.

Vodafone claim they cannot provide bills and despite me issuing bank statements for the past two years at my own expenses the ombudsman don't consider this legal proof of my monthly agreement, also due to the fact that the payment taken was never consistent and always higher than £36. However, since I was never able to access my account and I was never sent bills despite the numerous hours spent on online chats and on the phone to address the issue I still don't have the documents needed and I NEVER saw a single bill.

I tried the ombudsman and I'm now trying to solve this with yourself as a last resort before the small claims court. I know most companies rely on "complaint fatigue" for these issues to drop but after experiencing this for two years I can certainly make a few final efforts to resolve my situation so my claim will be for £952 calculated on the basis of my average bill (note there have been much higher bills) 75*24-43*12-36*12 which is the months I had paid extra £7 for insurance vs the months I hadn't and should have only paid £36 plus an extra £100 charges for the inconvenience, countless hours wasted seeking resolution and the incorrect credit mark on my file when I cancelled my insurance DD of £7 a month which is not a binding agreement.

This is still a generous estimate as the real damage surely accounts to more, but this is what I'd be willing to settle on.

Please come back to me asap with your resolution.

    Hi Lee,
I was supposed to have broadband activated 2 days ago. This has not happened. When we phoned we were told there was a delay but received no correspondence whatsoever from Vodafone.
I completed the on line complaints form and received an email today from Abhishek, customer service agent completely fobbing me off, telling me to ring a designated phone number!!
My husband has rung that phone number numerous times and got no information at all about when we will get connected, why we are not connected on the agreed date and how we will be compensated.
    Please can you help!
    Thanks in anticipation

For a communications company they are AWFUL !

Tried to log into my account this week, i ask for a password request now when i do log in all the site says is We're working hard to fix the issue, so please try again later.

All week i have had this message & it wont let me see anything on my account. I tried online chat & all they said is there is a problem at the moment but they are hoping to fix it soon ( HOPING WHAT DOES THAT MEAN ? ) All week & still saying the same.

    Trying to get a mortgage.
    Vodafone has screwed that up…

I now have an unfair Default on my account when I was promised it was closed and paid up in March. Subsequent late payments have been added to file and a default. Even though I have had various discussions between then and various false promises it had been resolved.
    • Told on 20th of March 2017 account was complete and up to date
    • Seen Vodafone on WATCHDOG in June for this same issue about not updating credit files correctly - Called up. Told was balance outstanding but could see was!there!issue. Would be cleared and email sent to Credit Report Department to Fix. LIES
    • Webchat on 28th of June 2017 also - call record allegedly lost
    • August got an email from Debt Collection agency
    • Called again on 2nd of September 2017. Had to make a payment. Twice told was!there!error.
    • Promised a call back from Manager to confirm credit file had been fixed due to Vodafone error

DETAILS CAPTURED OF CALL BACK THAT NEVER HAPPENED:
    > Call Handler Huda Aladin
    > Billing Department - Egypt
    > Call Request - ID: 1-7chyjqm5!
    > Manager Name who promised call back - Huda Hassan

    NO CALL BACK EVER PROVIDED
    • - Today 10th October - 1 hour in Vodafone store again, no progress. No credit file remediation

As of today 10th of October 2017 I have an unfair Default now on Credit File. When should have been marked as Closed in!March. £32

All as per WATCHDOG episode outlined with outlined with countless people having the same issue.

    Also Ex Vodafone Employee.
    Now I CANNOT GET MORTGAGE.
    SHAMEFUL. NEED FIXING TODAY

My credit file needs updating to reflect the information I was advised in March when closing the account, that the balance was up to date and no further charges would be incurred. Feel free to review the call logs. Requested this once already for the call in June. Told call logs lost. How very convenient… For Vodafone

Thanks a lot. Great way to treat an ex Employee and previously loyal customer…

Same happened to me this week thanks to these lot , disputed bill ,all paid up to date but never told Zinc who have put it on my file . Bank says i have been hit now for about 6 months & dont try again until after this time has passed. Thanks Vodacon

They have been "working hard to fix it" for at least 3 or 4 years then.

Please could someone advise, I decided to upgrade my mobile phone to an iphone 8 and renew my contract with vodafone, I went into the shop in Churchill Square, Brighton 19th October 2017 and was served by one of their salesteam, he was fine.

The best deal he could offer was £30.00 upfront charge (bizaarely he said he inadvertedly clicked the cash button and asked me to go to the nearest cash point, to get cash, but the amount was shown on my receipt, but something rather odd) anyway his best deal was £60.00 per month unlimited texts and minutes and 8GB data, he could reduce the monthly payment by 15% (household 15%) bringing it down £51.00 monthly if I took out another number which was for one month, but all I would need to do is cancel that contract and I am left with the agreed sum of £51.00 per month including discount.

However today I went to cancel and they informed me that this might negate the 15% discount.

I shall contact the shop but could anyone advise, I confirm that this was discussed in detail with the salesman, the other number has not been used and is an uneeded number that was only taken as part of the overall deal.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

I have completed the contact us form and my reference number is: #17482761.

I closed my Vodafone account in Aug 2016 however the account is still showing as open on my credit reports, could this be closed? I am moving house in a week's time and I don't want the vodafone account to still be open as it will show my old address and therefore be an inconsistency on my report.

Unfortunately I no longer have any paperwork with my account number on but I can provide any other security information required.

    Thanks! :)
