It was a mediocre brownie, not worth the money or the calories. That'll teach me ;)

When I was single I was completely chaotic...more than now;):rotfl:. I used to pile up dishes and get to the point of hiding them In the oven, even if it was a plate and knife from a sandwich. Hardly a huge amount. :o

It's difficult with long work hours and getting stuff done, especially with the teaching requiring hours of planning in so called none working time.

Please stop worrying about the crisps. At least your going to the gym and making an effort. Some of us (me) are too lazy to do that.

    Have a fab week.

When I was dieting we were encouraged to have a fat Friday, so a day where we ate anything. I didn’t embrace it but today I embraced an ‘I am not poor and in debt’ day where I forgot about debts and house repairs and being sensible and let loose. So, I used my teaching money to treat myself.

I bought a kettle that was 3Xs the price of the old one but it is lovely and will last 3Xs as long and give me pleasure too. I have been using a saucepan to make cups of tea for weeks. The new kettle is designed to hold 1 litre of water so is space saving and will stop me boiling more than I need so save on electricity. I bought it in JL so a 2 year warranty too :)

I went to Selfridges and went to the French tea shop for a present for my friend abroad. I asked for an extra bag and stickers so I can keep a little for myself:)

    I bought travel slippers

I bought a specially designed broom to up my cleaning game.

I had a cup of coffee and 2 chocolates out

I had a breakfast out for £5 in Le0n. (It is official, the food from there is not fresh or good anymore.)

This is the most money I have spent in a day for a very long time

I will still pay £1,000 off my debt this month but I wanted some money for me too and I am not sorry to have spent it ;)

I hope you had a good start to your week everyone :)

Parsniphead thanks for your post. It's good to know I'm not the only one who struggles with keeping a house. Hope your week goes well :)

What an excellent day! You may feel like you've blown the budget, but you used 'extra' money to do it, so you have not derailed yourself.:T:T:T

:T :T for your 'not poor and in debt day'. You were still sensible in buying things that give you real pleasure and quality, and it's good to give yourself a little reminder of what you're aiming for.

Re house stuff... same here :o. It is just difficult when you are out of the house a lot and especially with long and random hours. I am going to tackle the bathroom this evening, which has got dusty and a little mouldy despite being the size of a shoebox and only taking half an hour to clean. The only solution I have found is FlyLady so I am working towards that and now keep the website on a tab on my laptop so I have no excuse to forget.

I am glad that you had a not poor and not in debt day.
To still pay £1000 off the debt is just awesome.
    Be proud.
I agree cheap kettles are a false economy.
I live in a bungalow & my kettle is so noisy you can hear it in every room :(

  • Sounds like a lovely day to me, sometimes the grind of not spending at all really can get you down.
