Skidded on ice and damaged car

Thanks for all the replies, he can't get anyone out to get me to the garage they're a small business, but he has said he will come out and take a look at the car but by the time he finishes it'll be gone 6.
If he can't give me any idea of issues then I'll just have it towed to a local garage tomorrow morning and pray for the best.
Idk if anyone has skidded on the same part, they probably have.
I don't think it counts as an accident as no other cars/people/objects in general were involved, I do have hire car cover but my excess is 550 and just not worth the hassle I wouldn't of thought.
I was hoping someone could give me an idea or a quick fix to at least get it home or enable me to be able to drive it to a different garage but, I understand not seeing the damage it's just not possible.
None the less, fingers crossed it's not too expensive, or at least fixable.
That's all that required in the post, the other stuff makes it trollable.
There is no debate with us over whether you are going to claim on the insurance or fund it yourself.
I'm guessing that as it is parked up and not to be looked at until 1800 when it is dark, the alloys wheels and stereo would be whipped off and the recaro seating?0 -
I have no idea what half of that means. Idk what your problem is.
My insurance is high enough without adding a claim too it. That was a reply to someone who asked me if it was an accident and could I claim on the insurance.
I'm not worried about anyone stealing anything from the car, theres nothing inside. More so it being damaged. It's never off the drive over night usually. Cars not gonna be alone all night is it, I have a mechanic going to look at it my brother in law will go after work.
I have no idea what recaro seating is. Don't know if your calling me a troll. If you've nothing helpful to say why waste your time replying?0 -
Did you get the windscreen fixed, or could reduced visibility due to all of the cracks have contributed to the accident you had?0
-
The point of that reference is? Yes it was fixed ages ago. Ice doesn't tend to be a visibility issue usually.0

It means this....
You bumped your car and it needs looking at.
How where and why it happened is irrelavant.
Without anyone seeing it, it could be a variety of issues or just a single one.
Oh let me guess then, can you claim against the council for not gritting the road?
You know like the post that got removed, the OP also kept coming back with a full explanation to strangers on a forum.0 -
!!!!!!.
Yes I'm aware no one can be certain, but I was hoping for an idea or two, or people who have had similar incidents.
If I would have just posted the damage no doubt someone would have asked how it happened. I didn't realise giving details was a bad thing! No one says you had to sit there and read it let alone reply.
I wouldn't expect that road to be gritted, it's not a main road of any sort. I dunno if you think I'm someone else since you've referred to a different post, but let us assume in the middle of January it's not impossible for more than one car to skid on ice...0 -

The point is, if several months ago your windscreen was growing 2ft cracks, by now if you hadn't had it fixed, they could be spidered all over the screen, affecting visibility.
And why would skidding on ice have nothing to do with visibility? Even black ice can often be spotted by the shiny appearance it gives to the road surface. That's why I asked.0 -

How things happen do not change the resoulution.
The readers cannot see the damage as said so it doesn't matter how it happened.
Yes giving loads of details can be a bad thing wait until it's asked for , would it have changed things if it was a 2004 or 2006 Focus?0 -
I assume the cost of car parts would vary for older/newer cars. Cars also get built differently in different years, I'm not an expert infact I know practically nothing to do with cars except how to drive one and do the basics. So I don't know what information is or isn't needed, it hardly warrents the responses you've given.
If I just said 'I've knocked my wheel into the arch on my car and the steering is out' people would have no idea that maybe the underside of the car is damaged, for example. And I wanted people who had maybe done something similar and have an understanding of what I'm trying to get across.
I said in my first post it was a long shot as I people can't see the car.
I don't use these forums usually, if there is some kind of code used by regulars that don't need details, then great, but not everyone will know this. So instead of keep responding why not just let it be what it is, details of an accident I wanted some advice on!0 -

Here's the deal, I will if you will
Trouble is you are trying to do the thinking for prospective readers, beleive it or not the maority of drivers don't skid off the road any month of the year, even fewer then write a detailed summary of events. Ok, it may have not crossed your mind but on the whole they don't care, the only issue is the car is broken and it requires fixing, yes we all care about that.0
