Poor lass comes on here to have a rant and gets flamed for liking Audis. Bit harsh! OP, all that matters is that the dealer is sorting it out. I'd hazard a guess that all new cars need some work done under warranty at some point. It's unlucky yours has happenend so soon and sullied your new car experience but main thing is the dealer will put it right for you. You should only be thinking about complaining if repeated trips back and forth don't fix the issue or if you're being majorly inconvenienced e.g. they need the car for a week and have no courtesy cars available.
And all the haters, give her a break. Skoda - Seat - VW - Audi - Bentley - Lamborghini - Bugatti. The Audi is still more of a luxury brand than the first 3, regardless of the common components it shares. Then there's the fact the Audi brand covers the RS models, R8 etc which is pretty far removed from Skoda. I know it's all an exercise in branding but if it didn't exist we'd all be driving round in Ladas! Which might suit the bunch of socialists on here.0 -

I doubt the OP took the car to the VW group head office to get fixed?0

Did you consider reading the bit that was replying to? You know, the bit about escalating to AudiUK's customer service department, and how they'd be somehow much better than the customer service dept for other VAG brands?
You quoted my statement about customer service, which never mentioned head office or escalations.0 -
You do understand that the dealer isn't "Audi", right?0

Not what I'm reading. What I'm reading is their misapprehension over Audi being a "a luxury car name" is being corrected, along with their expectation that that would mean a new car should be utterly fault-free.
And as I said, compared to Skoda, Seat and VW in the same gorup, Audi is more of a luxury brand. That's not to say the cars are any better, just that the brand is perceived as higher value.0 -

I take issue with that generalisation. I agree with others here that the OP is mistaken believing Audi is a luxury brand. Sure, they're more luxurious than Skoda, but in the same way that Tesco own-brand beans are more luxurious than Tesco Value beans; that doesn't make them 'Luxury Waitrose personally selected and hand-picked by vestal virgins, thrice-cooked, hand baked, in a sumptuous tomato jus' beans.
To be honest, though, my real problem is the assumption that I'm a Socialist. God forbid.0 -
The op statedI am contemplating writing a complaint to head office because I find that it simply not good enough from a luxury car name. What do you think?
Thanks
this leads me to ask the question did the OP buy an Audi A1 because that was the best car for her needs or did she buy the car for the Audi badge?
I suspect that they perceived Audi as being a luxury car name and wanted to buy into the brand, there are many on here that bang on about buying entry level poverty spec cars just for the badge snobbery
Audi market themselves as one of the UK's leading premium automotive brands, so they consider themselves to be a premium brand rather than a luxury brand
this said the OP should just accept the repair and move on, many new cars have issues straight out of the box which do not come to light until the car is put into daily use, get the repair done and then write your letter expressing your disappointment if it makes you feel better0 -

Of course.
If you are paying more for what is essentially the same car, I'd expect the staff at the dealership to provide better customer service than the cheaper brand. My use of the term Audi and SEAT/Skoda was in respect of the sales staff/mechanics.0
