AUDI A1 - 1 Month Old!!

Probably the best response on here. Thank you for seeing my point and not worrying about whether an Audi is a luxury car or not, who cares! What I care about is that my car has broken after only a month. To the rest of you, I'm going to go enjoy my fuel card and a number of other good will gestures after not taking your advice and complaining to head office.
Glad it's all sorted for you. Whenever I've had any issues with Audi in the past (admittedly not very often) I've always found that they take a keen interest in your 'brand experience' and will often go out of their way to make amends for a poor experience. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
I'm happy that the problem has been resolved.
What exactly was replaced and how long did they have the car for, please?
On the first day they had it in for investigation they found the turbo had broke so had to keep it in overnight whilst they ordered parts. Wednesday they replaced the turbo and found that the seals had broken as well. Again, had to stay in over night to order the parts. So the turbo blades had snapped (which is why I had a whistling noise when I pressed the accelerator.)
Car was in for three days.0 -

Thanks for coming back to clarify what the problems were.
A lesser person might well have been 'scared off' by some of the replies you received.
This forum is like that all the time - but you just need to sift through the nonsense to get the 'nuggets'.
Enjoy your car and don't let this experience put you off as Audi ARE a premium brand, if not a luxury one.0 -

Probably the best response on here because it it the only post on here that says what you wanted to hear from another Audi owner

Ex Audi owner, not that it is of any relevance. It was more to do with the strange snobbery of some that haunt this board that for some reason causes them to feel the need to try and belittle people who have different perceptions to them. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -

Not snobbery on my part anyway. Just bemused that someone thought buying an Audi would buy them something more reliable and built with better components than if say, they'd bought a Skoda.0 -

There is no issue, afaict, with how the Audi dealer have handled the problem - just that the problem arose in the first place. Well, yes, that's what the warranty is for.
Everything since then has been people determined to take offence at their presumptions not being widely agreed with.
Good on Audi for apparently giving a goodwill gesture - but I rather suspect that's a case of "Oh, shut up and go away" rather than agreeing the complaint had any merit.0 -

I think that pretty much sums up "good will gesture".
Lets be honest, if it were me i'd be demanding to know the root cause of the issue and something substantial as reassurance that it won't happen again...... Maybe next time outside the warranty period?
All the good will gestures in the world will not help if the turbo goes pop in 3 years time and takes out half the engine.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Many are more interested in driving the cars than knowing the technicalities of them.
There is no reassurance that any kind of sudden failure may not occur.
We are talking modern cars not Renault 5 Gordini, engineering has come along way and many cars are turbo charged now.0 -

That may carry a small risk of a failure in the near future, if the oilways have got contaminated with debris from the failing turbo, but it will have zero effect on the risk of a longer-term engine failure.0
