    Morning all.

I echo what Ionfan said but didn't keep a comprehensive list. My dad was also in the medical profession, if I ever showed him a wound or whatever, he'd say "I've seen worse". I still have scars to this day that probably should have been treated properly at the time.

Thanks for all your good wishes over the last couple of days. Only dailies have been done here and not even those properly. This is the second suicide to hit our extended family in less than three years and it certainly makes you think about priorities.

Today, I have put a washload on, will wash the breakfast dishes in a mo, intend to take the dogs for a walk (they were both sick yesterday and the house still smells icky today), and then properly scrub/hoover all the floors.

Other than that (and a light bulb that needs changing - awkward one), I will just potter.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning all.

Had a lovely cuppa and brekkie and caught up on dickensian whilst everyone still in bed.

Then saw the binmen and that Dh hadn't put the bags out so has to hoof it out in my dressing gown! Grrr.

Valli any scope in that direction isn't a barrel of laughs. Well done you!

No plans today. Have just put a wash on. Going to make a curry and make some cakes with the kidlets. And try and bring some order to playmobil world in the lounge!

    Xxx

Morning all. Very cold and frosty here, but quite bright :)

I've already done a lot of desk work this morning, and just finished breakfast prepared by my own personal chef :D so really must crack on now - we've got friends coming to a meal this evening.

    My list for today:
    - shower and dress
    - put away dry washing from bathroom
    - WMx1
    - clean out and defrost FF
    - shopping: needs lots of F&V and a joint
    - make soup and dessert
    - prep meat and veg
    - clean thoroughly all downstairs: OH :A has volunteered to hoover
    - oven on and main course in
    - lay table
    - relax and enjoy :)

Catch up when I can x

Exactly right...and it means I have brought up the Vallikids to be equally stoic :rotfl: - DS used to say "it hurts when I do this - *demo*" and I just replied "well don't do that then" then he learned to preface the sentence with 'don't say don't do that then but...' and got just as much sympathy.'

Anyway Mum's been and I told her about my refusal to use gas and air and apparently the procedure can be very painful...so I got off lightly! Now I understand all the 'you're doing well' etc comments from the nurses, of whom there were four...

My sister had stomach ache one day and my mum sent her to school saying 'see how it goes'. I got in from work to take a call from a colleague of mum's asking how my sister was...she'd been admitted to hospital with appendicitis:eek:

Anyway PC stripped down and dusted and vacuumed, desk moved and vacced under, shredder emptied and I shall dust and vacuum the rest of the hall when I am out of lives ...PC now back to silent running.

Oh and AF has put in an appearance. Pollyanna moment - glad that it wasn't yesterday!

J sent me into work on my bike with a packed lunch he made up when I had a stroke - he thought it was a bad headache!! I've never let him live that down.

AF arrived for me too just now; think it must be in sympathy with you! There's me hoping they'll stop soon as I'm getting a bit long in the tooth but no such luck.

    No - actually - I am a LOT 'gurgly'!

I see some of you use your own lists, do you combine them or is everything mentioned in the weekly posts all ready covered in your personal lists? I’m just trying to come up with the best way that works for me!

I usually read the lists and if things are really bad do at least one thing every day from them until we're back to an acceptable level of grot. When things have been exceptionally busy and the place has got really grim then I do the whole list, but generally, to be honest, once the house was up to an overall level of okayness, it didn't need everything to be done every week. I don't know about anyone else but as long as the place looks tidy, the kitchen and bathroom are clean and there are dust bunnies wafting around in the breeze - it's good enough.

It's trail and error, Petula. I do what needs to be done to stay on top of it, and you'll find out what suits you.

A basket of sticks for your BD, Frodders and huge congratulations on your weightloss.

OH is up the smoke for 36 hours so Kelpie and I have done a load of washing, pegged it out, done the stairs (the stick cleaner's working again, boo hiss), made a pizza base which is a bit wonky but better than anticipated and been for a long walk. It's cold, still and sunny, my favourite winter weather. Lovely.
    Better is good enough.
