That's good news Mumof2.
It went well, apparently, and I was very good, doing really well (they said) and didn't need gas and air (not really an option, I think, given I was driving!) and it would have been easier if I 'could just let go of the 'gas'' - my comment was that that was NOT going to happen while they were all there - even though they must have seen/heard it all before. Much the same as when I couldn't use a bedpan with a nurse in the room...so I am a bit 'gurgly':rotfl:
No - actually - I am a LOT 'gurgly'!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Also made it to SW this evening (first time out since Monday) and have decluttered 10lb so that's boosted me a bit!
Missed this yesterday; so sorry BD has come in, lots of sticks thrown. Go and stroke those lovely ratties. Glad your head is understanding.
But hugely well done on the weight. I've just set up a new profile on MyFitnessPal to try and get me on track. Horrified by the amount of sugar it seems to think I have; must be fruit as I don't have sugar in drinks and can't eat biscuits etc anyway.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Narco.. its just not fair is it that such young people have to live with such illnesses.. their lives barely begun.. I hope his op goes well and the prognosis is good xx
Unfortunately his op was cancelled owing to some other poor child being rushed in with a head injury after an accident. It has been postponed till at least the end of the month. He just wants it over with; can no longer concentrate at school and has a lot of fits despite being on max medication.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
I just feel let down by the system and honestly don't think my MH past should come into it now. I hope they call back and say yes we can go ahead as I'm sure we would benefit from couple counselling and will be very upset if by being honest I have the rug pulled from under my feet.
Speaking as one who does assessments primarily for dyslexia, I often have students with all sorts of other issues like MH and I wouldn't turn them away. As a professional, I know the limits of what I can do and I discuss this with the client accordingly e.g. this week I had looked up what side effects my client's MH medication was likely to have, discussed with him that there may be some issues which could be due to the medication and/or dyslexia and that I would assess and report accordingly. As I said to him "you are an individual, not a label - or even 2 or 3 labels" and my recommendations will be what is appropriate for the difficulties he is having. I know that isn't the same situation, but if you are a professional you know what may or may not influence any effects you are seeing. I used to work in a probation setting, and had the same dilemmas when teaching/assessing people with ....less medical medication.....; you work with the person in front of you and do your best for them. Sorry long post.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Just taken phone call confirming that yes they can see us for counselling so that's a big relief. Thanks for all your support everyone xx
Narc0 Bummer about the op being cancelled.:( Hope the poor lad is as ok as possible under the circumstances.
Jessie Labrador is back for the weekend; hopefully she's going to keep me sane, as I have two stressful events Monday and Tuesday next week.
Flying non-existant, as I have to rest my right wrist for 24-36 hours after the injection; it feels a lot better already. I just hope @X@ppp will continue funding me.
Hope YorkshireDog got on ok at the vet's; Jessie sends a gentle lick. xIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Oh ugh just filled in lunch with my friend on MyFitnessPal and the rack of ribs I had was a day's calories. Lucky I resisted a pudding but had hoped to have a snack later today.......sounds like celery may do the trick  On the plus side, I did go to Body Attack this morning and the new class is really energetic. Wonder if I have time to go tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0

And now Grizzly Adams has popped his clogs.. also cancer... there will be no one left soon!!
Mumof2.. Glad they are able to see you again... that means there is hope, they are hopeful for a good outcome!!
Narco.. if you're ever up this way come assess my dyslexic brood please.. and dyspraxia too.. I have 1 diagnosed with both but the rest show traits too. Such a turd about the op.. I know it couldn't be helped but you'd think they'd have plans in place for situations like that.. such as another surgeon they could call in. I hope the other child makes a full recovery though.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Aw thank you, and nickitoo. Our new vet is great, she didnt even touch him, she just got me to pick him up so she could look at the bits she needed to see. DH met me at the vets for moral support, which was great but I felt a bit defeated that I didnt manage it on my own. YorkshireDog needs more visits though so watch this space.
Pigpen I saw your post about your son and having a poorly DS too I know how you feel. Will be interested to see how you get on with ESA.
Valli I have watched DS go through an colonoscopy. I cant imagine anything worse. Hope you are feeling OK.
Mumof2 thats good news. It sounds a real rollercoaster for you. Keep us up to date.
All peaceful here. Everyone has been fed. Fire is lit, telly on. Need to ring Mum for a catch up in a bit. No flying done today but there is time of the weekend to get some things sorted.0
