You said "So we won't see too much price rises on Chinese goods" so you may like to check your maths.

    no, I didn't post that ...

BTW, another question. How much business (in either direction) to the Brexit fans already do *themselves* with China? How do you expect this to change in future and why?

stupid question; and you know it.

Carper, aren't YOU fed up with specially coming and visiting this thread to make comments about how pointless it is?
Don't think I've commented that it's pointless I just wondered why they kept posting when nobody is arguing with them now.

Once the BoE has sucked the life out of the bond market, it will take Japan's lead and move onto equities (inflation hedge)......exciting times :T

Service debt now and make sure that you have a excellent fund manager for 2017. :A

If you follow whats happening in the markets, you would have a narrow vision also. Most people don't have a clue what's happening.....

As someone who works in investment banking I slightly agree with your sentiment but the housing market is a totally different ballgame.

A bubble does not just mean high prices. It doesn't even mean unsustainable prices. A bubble means high prices without the economic fundamentals to support them. The fact it is the scarce supply of, and huge demand for, residential property clearly does indicate the market has these fundamentals.

You could allow for a correction with regard to speculative investors leaving the market, but a) this would not have a material impact outside of prime central London and b) would only be short to medium term, because as soon as the uncertainty has cleared investment would resume.

A correction of 10% then slow growth of 2-3% per year based on affordability.

Hopefully during that time, banks will reduce lending.....of course not......

I could see that happening my point is I don't think you can say with certainty what is going to happen.
