If we vote for Brexit what happens

errr..
He said there were the fundamentals of a plan in place but when I asked what they were he asked a load of diversionary questions.
I'm pretty clear what I want. We must now leave the EU but I hope, apart from membership itself, we negotiate a deal which is as close to membership as possible.
If you read the article originally linked to you will see that DD has a very clear opinion on timescales, who will be involved, when we would expect to invoke 50, that he will aim for free market access but will not be phased by the EU demanding WTO rules.
Those are fundamentals. They are a clear indication of where he will go.
Now that we've got that out of the way and you seem to believe that this is not a positive step forward, can you tell us what you would like to happen instead.0 -
NO, not what you want but what you think should happen.
Can you clarify the difference? I think that we should engage in negotiations to pursue free trade and free movement of people, without having a seat at the table and exempt from certain EU directives. This will come with caveats of course but we will have to pay that price.0 -
NO, not what you want but what you think should happen.
let me remind you of the question.
"Ok, let's try and engage you in this process.
What do you think is a sensible way for the country to move forward?
Who would you like to see negotiating our exit?
What key stage gates would you like to see and when? "
I was very clear about what I want to happen and not unsurprisingly I think what I want to happen should happen.
For someone who only knows what he thinks and wouldn't dare to speculate what other people might think you're awfully interested in my thoughts.0 -
What pain? 70% of our total exports of services and goods are traded on WTO terms with an average 3% tarif, do we hear cries of how awful this is?
We dont have SM access for services and trust me if we remained in the EU that would be years away.
We have all sorts of aces and leverage to get a decent EU trade deal, there is zilch to be worried about, people are hysterical over next to nothing
You are slowly wearing me down Conrad. I actually do think that we will get a decent Norway style trade deal if we pursue it. The question is how are you going to sell free movement to many of the leave voters?0 -
If you want a theory, I think we might want to approach the EFTA 4 members and construct our own new trade pact and then present terms to the EU
I can envisage other European nations wanting to join
Just a theory of course, but gives a sense of the sorts of things we might contemplate
Very exciting ya0 -

Don't be hysterical yourself. I said that until anything actually happens, people will moan about the uncertainty. That is the pain. Things are not exactly rosy today. I have enough foresight to see that they will improve, but please do not peddle your unfounded opinions on what is happening right now. I think it will improve, but I am just explaining why the moaning will continue in the interim. Do you understand? To err is human, but it is against company policy.0 -
May I answer? My personal choice for the way forward would be to agree to free trade and free movement with the EU but without having a seat at the table and in theory not being subject to implement EU directives.
Ah, at last someone gets off the fence.
great stuff.
When would you invoke article 50?0 -

Of course I'm in asking for your thoughts.
I'm not a mind reader unlike yourself who seems to know what every person it the UK thinks0 -

Yes I've seen this argument put over and again, but once more it starts out with the assumption will will have to bend over and accept such terms but this is simply not the case of you consider ALL the evidence and not resort to simply regurgitate the OPENING positions expressed by EU Chiefs.
All I can say is think a bit more latterly, not in a paint by numbers fashion and learn to question everything. Don't so readily fall for standard recieved wisdom memes
I'm not being rude, I'm just clumsy in my narratives0 -

I haven't been on the fence. It isn't easy to follow all posts here but you would have seen this was my favoured option since June 24th.
I don't particularly care about the UK following EU directives, they exist for a reason (mostly to standardise trade and stop the EU partners from undercutting each other, collective bargaining power type thing). They never really impacted my life that I could notice. But since we are where we are and have a mandate to "leave the EU" but we cannot escape geography and they are still a large trading partner, I am ok with pursuing free trade, free movement but not subject to certain EU directives.0
