I was house viewing with a friend in Bristol today (nice areas like Clifton, Redland etc) and properties were going for under asking price for the first time in the 9 months that my friend has been looking so far, most in the region of 3-6% reductions.

Lots of buyers holding on to see what happens with interest rates next week the estate agent was telling me.

There's no real solution that isn't discriminatory. There's a difference between being mindful of the difficulties vs just not liking brown people.

You play Barry's game if you like but forgive me if I don't indulge you.

who said anything about brown people?
I'm sure plenty of brown UK people voted to leave the EU.
They must also be racist lol.

You probably meant EU rather than "uk" :)
To err is human, but it is against company policy.

It's nice work Barry and definitely food for thought but the obvious elephant in the room is you're a racist. I don't think I could prove it beyond a reasonable doubt but on a preponderance of the evidence probably.

Who do you think you're kidding?

Generally, the prosecutor bears the burden of proof and is required to prove their version of events to this standard. This means that the proposition being presented by the prosecution must be proven to the extent that there could be no "reasonable doubt" in the mind of a "reasonable person" that the defendant is guilty.

so if you were on the jury and I was in court accused of racism you would have to go with not guilty.

Remember its the prosecutions job (YOU) to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that someone is guilty of an accused crime. (ME)

    Innocent until proven guilty ;)

Given a decision about immigraiton has to be made, what would your system be?

I have a view about immigration policy.
    By definition it will discriminatory.
    You will point this out.
    Therefore Barry's not a racist.

Very unlikely that buyers are waiting to see what happens to interest rates next week... I hardly think a possible drop of 0.25% is going to be the difference between buyers sitting tight or piling in, more likely that buyers are prepared to sit tight and see what happens to property prices for the medium term at least

Breaking news: homeowner thinks prices won't drop. Says the most important economic event of the past 30 years doesn't mean anything.

You heard it here first. Buy buy buy!

Actually they all seem to be the owners of recently bought houses... mustn't be such a nice feeling being the last of the greater fools.

Those thing may or may not happen but they won't happen over night and it's much to early to tell what is going to happen in the housing market.

The EU only jobs will move very quickly. There will be a stampede one the first company move out of the UK because the first to move gets access to the limited supply of people, locations, power and data feeds.

Anyway, do you think anyone in finance is going to buy with the Sword of Damocles hanging over them? If there is even a hint that a move abroad is required, selling up would be the best option.

I noticed in my area, Battersea (1/2 mile around me, anyway) there are loads of reductions and new instruction but no sales since Brexit vote.
