It sounds like you don't have any grandchildren, or if you do then you don't have a close relationship.
Some grandparents see their grandchildren daily and even provide child care.
Yes there are a minority that emirate, but the majority want to be close to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends, communities, churches and sometimes hobbies.
Nothing wrong with emigrating if that's what you want, but the majority have stronger ties to family and friends.
Personally I'm keen to emigrate a bit later in life (Warmer climate) but DH won't until his parents are gone. We are in a minority because we are childless.
I'm not the one complaining about the UK am I?
so according to Joe you must live a sad life if your planning to move away.0 -
you should rent like me Joe.
The workers even pay my rent
Joe does rent, from the bank, the coming economic turmoil may mean his rent goes up, and "value" come down, hence the reason that he is more p*issed off than usual :rotfl: In fact many of the clowns that usually post on here have either just stopped, or are posting like they have been hit in the face with a fresh salmon, either way there are a lot of things happening that were totally unexpected for them, landlord tax, Brexit....what next? I would have said China meltdown, but I think Italy is going to blow up before China now...go long popcorn chaps, it`s gonna be fun!0 -

yes I do.
Get all the EU imposed laws scrapped as soon as possible.
Cut immigration to an acceptable level that this small island can realistically cope with.
Make it clear that if you come here to live you will 100% need to support yourself and your family with zero assistance from the state. (including housing) just like pretty much all other places in the world.
Encourage people to be proud to be part of the UK including being allowed to show that to the world by flying our flag.
Make people that choose to live her respect our ways and customs and abide by them. Just like when you go to a place like Dubai you respect their laws and customs.
Encourage people to buy British products
Make non british owned companies pay their tax bill.
Stop giving our money away to the rest of the world. Charity begins at home and we cannot afford to do it.
Nobody sends us money do they.
Lift the smoking ban in pubs.
Teach children in schools that we are a Christian country and allow Easter, Christmas nativities and hymns in our schools again.
I could go on and on.0 -

You're long trackers just like me you old fart.0 -
I would also cap all private rents to that of a HA property.
Far too many people buy a house then rent it out getting LHA to pay the mortgage for them.
Its legal benefit fraud.0
