Was moving yourself and your family to Australia an example of you being "pro Eu" ?

It had nothing to do with the decision one way or the other.

Does your remaining in the UK demonstrate your feelings about the EU?

Generali - are you going to vote?

we could try free trade ...

We already have free trade with 30 other European countries. You have already expressed your dislike of one of the consequences of this free trade.

As far as tariffs are concerned, 'yes'; businesses located in those jurisdictions do indeed have to pay whatever tariffs are imposed. As far as projects are concerned, 'no'; they have their own projects to subsidise.

P.S. China and the USA have the same model as New Zealand? Who knew?:)

All you seem to be offering me/The UK is years of trade negotiations with no guarantee of anything other than lots of pain. I have no idea why you think I would vote for that?

I'm not sure what you are saying : that we in the UK have to pay the tariff the EU dictate when we trade with non EU countries?

And that if we exit, we will be an badly off trade wise as USA, China, Russia, third world developing countries and the rest of the world.

We don't have free trade with the EU , we have tariff free trade as there are loads of non tariff barriers.

I think it is certain you won't vote for free trade.

But the issue of what those inward investment figures means is interesting

    I don't know.

I don't vote in General or council Elections as it is utterly pointless: if you put a blue rosette on a monkey it'd get in where I could vote.

With the referendum I could make a difference so perhaps I should. I do plan possibly to return to Europe and I have paid a very large amount of tax in the UK, more than the average person will pay in a lifetime. No taxation without representation and all that.

no, we don't have free trade within the EU countries, what we have is tariff free trade: there are loads of non tariff barriers to trade within the union.
That said, it is a lot better that tariff barriers in addition.

There was a link posted in DT on a few threads to the story so have a look in the DT section.

    Erh?

You obviously missed my point about the EHIC cards not being recognised by Spanish hospitals until you complain and insist on seeing a doctor under the EHIC system. They prefer you to stump up and pay on the credit/debit card first.

    This is from the DM.
Just 2 lines with not even the sex or age of this Spaniard.

And again.... The EHIC card is a positive of being a member of the EU not a NEGATIVE.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

I'm not sure thats the case in the countries where I have friends which is Germany and Belgium where people are becoming more dispondant with the EU and its inability to address major issues such as the Euro, migrant crisis and The Ukraine, to name but 3.

My friends are all middle class voters so I don't think the working class populations in those coutries would be any more pro EU than the Dermatologist consultants I know.

Agreed, however my point was that these "friends" would not support Turkey joining.
