According to the ONS, 66,000. According to the Census 86,000. According to Boris Johnson 250,000.

Do you think that 3 million foreign born people in London increases or decreases the ability of Londoners to build houses?
http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mf/3412.0/
28.1% of Australia's population was born overseas.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign-born_population_of_the_United_Kingdom#Size_of_the_foreign-born_population
About 12% of the UK's population was born overseas.
And please stop putting words in my mouth. It's getting very boring.
maybe start addressing the issue
where is the theory that says the higher the population density the better the quality of life?
and maybe give an economic answer to whether, taking supply and demand into account, that 3 million foreigners affect the price of housing in London.
and as you mention Aus: do they allow unlimited immigration ; which you seem to claim improves the quality of life for all concerned.0 -

You mentionned Aus as you seemed to be suggesting that the UK had more immigrants than the UK. Proportionate to population that is not true.
As to whether there are 'too many' people in the UK, that's a qualitative call really. There is no right answer that I am aware of. Leaving the EU might or might not reduce immigration, I guess you hope it would. It would also create economic chaos. Is the chaos worth the possibility of reduced immigration? I can't decide that for you.0 -

It keeps the property market buyoant and stops it from imploding which keeps the banks that the government has bailed out from going under.
The government has no incentive to expand the housing stock. It's short term goal is to keep the inflated properties at their inflated levels. This means people who just got mortgages in 2007-2008 who are just 8 years into their 30 year mortgages dont suddenly fall into negative equity.
Negative equity makes it very easy for a borrower in difficult times to just say "I owe £180,000 on this property that's valued at £165,000, I'm dipping into my savings to pay my mortgage, should I just default on this and leave?"
This is done by welcoming investment for high end properies which has a knock on effect on all properties down the lower end of the market. As the scarcity increases prices.
Don`t you think there are already tons of people up and down the country already into NE on their 2007/8 mortgage? The UK isn`t London, most of the UK doesn`t give a monkeys about London, and a few Arabs buying developments there won`t save the UK property market. People won`t throw in the towel at 30-40k losses though, on their main house anyway, they will pay the mortgage until they lose their jobs (see Aberdeen) but BTL is another matter, I can see the appetite for that drying up over the next few years, and a lot of it hitting the market.0 -

More economic chaos than is coming anyway? I seriously doubt it. When the Italian banks blow it won`t matter if we are in or out, the SWHTF.0 -
Some continue to bang on about the foreigners ALREADY in the UK. We are where we are. Brexit might slow net immigration but if that is to happen and to matter in this discussion then someone in the Brexit side of the Government should tell us what specifically will be done to keep foreigners out of the U.K.There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0

I will only address one issue at a time as you seem to be unable to cope with two points within one post.
So basically you have NO economic arguments for saying the higher the population the better the standard of living.
So you only have an opinion that the higher the density of population the better the quality of life for the people of that region.
You are so convinced by your own argument you left the country and move half way round the world.0 -

As strange as it may sound to you there are people in the world that don't obsess about migration policies.
My moving to Australia had nothing to do with the respective immigration policies of the two countries apart from in the way that Australia's policy applied to me.
I'm not interested in answering the rest of your BS post quite frankly. I'm going to put you on ignore for a bit because there is no point in entering into discussion with you. You just want to rant about immigration (but not the immigrants like you used to do because that would be racist).0 -

fair enough
you have no economic arguments to show that a more crowded isle provides a better standard of living for the people, so just call some-one racist instead.0
