Hehe. Not so long ago Jock was claiming India was the third largest inward investor into the UK.always_sunny wrote: »I am afraid that whatever proof is presented to you, you will still believe otherwise and that is fine.
Confronted with facts and figures, he went into his usual squirming, twisting and squabbling bonanza and I fully expect him to do so on this occasion again.
Good post by the way.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
Pharma is in a bit of decline. Deloitte published a report last year.

Good post by the way.
Quelle surprise.
I do not wish to revisit past posts but despite your selective wording I was in fact correct re: India as these clearly say:
http://www.thehindu.com/business/india-emerges-as-third-largest-fdi-source-for-uk/article7347305.ece
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-34787765

Now choose another to agitate.
I will not be further drawn by your facile comments.0 -

I don't see anyone deny that. We know it's in decline - because product development is lengthy and it's expensive plus returns aren't as vast as they used to be. That's a global thing though, not just here.

This has nothing to do with Project Fear - as the pharma situation is not Brexit related (been going on for a while). Move of agencies is collateral and would have happened even if the UK was the biggest market. Keeping an EU agency in a non-EU country makes no sense.

Source? Plus that is one EU country, not "other EU countries" plural. Nice work though, keep it up.0 -

Does help when companies are on the acquisition trail. Bayer has bought Monsanto since then. In the UK we only sell our companies.0 -

There seems to be debate as to whether it's true.
I like the way they explain it as being like Moore's Law in reverse.0 -

BTW, the UK equivalent of the EU drugs/medicines agency has been discussed before in these forums.
We already have our own regulation.

Highly unlikely as I have read (no link) that the EU will choose a country that will be attractive to the skilled workers they will have to recruit or relocate. In addition good infrastructure and ancillary pharma Company'sThere will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
Where has the UK split?
When the United Nations started there were about 50 countries. Now almost 200. The trend is towards a split.
Brexit will be as helpful as a hedgehog hen-do in a balloon factory.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0
