the extent of lying in the campaigns (predominantly from the Leave side, though Remain hammed it up a bit too) was unprecedented.

If you list the Leave lies, manipulations and distortions for me, I will then list those of Remain.

I wont forget to include Cameron's various assurances to include staying on as PM and Osborne's many fantasies and distortions, aided and abetted by The Treasury who's forecasts have been condemned by Select Committees and Mervyn King.

Or Remains assertion a Norway style option (soft Brexit) would be 'the worst of all worlds', but magically now is what they call for.

Or lies around not being able to co-operate on cross border issues.

I think the biggest lie of all is that Leave lied more.

May be of interest. Extensive poll on voting patterns, policy priorities and the EU by Lord Ashcroft

    That's actually really interesting.

I'm still worried it won't go completely as planned though, as I think the time constraints amongst other things, including a possible change of government in the middle of negotiations (there are still 3 years to go before an election yet) may be massive hindrances to UK PLC. Not trying to talk the country down, just saying how I see it.

I wouldn't go that far. But you have to admit the caliber of politics and, well, honesty, has been pretty disappointing so far?

My view is that a lot of people voted leave because they believed that they were be better off by doing so. It does not really matter if they were clever and doing so because they hate the EU's democracy or thick and thought that stopping immigration would prevent the common cold. The result is the same.

I do however think that the case for Brexit was won by convincing people that it would improve their lot. If it fails to improve their lot those voting leave will only have themselves to blame. Those who believed for example that it would remove the need for immigration, save the NHS, isolate us from the EU economies or come without an economic price to the UK, are in for a shock.

Oh look here we go again.

The leave voters who were conned into voting for their self interest.

Did remain voters not vote in self interest? Are they all great selfless paragons of virtue?

'Those who believe it would remove the need for immigration' !!!!!!.
How many actual voters out of 17m do you seriously think believed this?
How many do you think believed the other criteria you chuck around?

The fact you use these as sticks to beat up leave voters obviously means you think the numbers are significant.

    So how many?

But regardless, the thing you're missing bob my dear, is that you only 'lost' by 1.2m votes.
All those dimwits were voting leave regardless, so blaming them is pointless.

    Heathrow cargo hits five-year high

Global British trade at Heathrow soared in March, with volumes surging nearly 13% to 148,000 metric tonnes – the largest monthly growth in over five years.

As the UK’s largest port, Heathrow is a key enabler of British trade handling over 30% of non-EU exports and more cargo by value than all other UK airports combined.

Emerging markets in Asia and South America spearheaded the Airport’s cargo growth with exports to Mexico rising by 28%, Brazil 13%, India 9% and China 5%.

The airport also saw exports to Indonesia rise (up over 9,000%) after Garuda Indonesia moved to Heathrow from Gatwick last year.

All my adult life people have said this and imply that things would be better if their kind were in charge but it's just not reality to think this way IMO.

I think overall we have a pretty honest and straight forwards lot compared to most in the world.

People confuse dishonesty with viewpoint. For example it is a valid view to suggest we can determine how the gross EU contribution is spent by ourselves, and however you cut the numbers, it's a ruddy big figure. It's just not the case the bus figure was a lie, it was an implied suggestion and no one took the number as red.

Which is a landslide win when you consider Remain was the choice of the Government and Establishment with their global chumocracy (Obama et al) backing them to the hilt, and all underpinned by The Treasury and BOE.

Another Remain distorition is to say the meeeja was all for Leave, this is nonsense.

The Telegraph was luke warm for Leave and only at the last moment. The Times, FT, Mail on Sunday, Guardian, Observer, Independent and more or less the entire TV media were for Remain - it oozed out of the likes of Fisal Islam, Victoria Derbyshire, John Snow et al.
