What we need is a move away from the contrived scarcity that comes with an over reliance on large corporates, whereby a minority of capital holders, enjoy the fruits and a mass of rentiers (workers without capital) that merely transact the work for minimal terms and money

In other words a flowering of new enterprise, new market entrants to the benefit of society, giving more people more of a sense of a stake

Globalisation has delivered a paltry life for many based on mass importation of goods and labour

The income distribution system has broken down. Those relying on their labour for income are doing ever worse compared to those that own capital to earn 'rent' (dividends etc)

I see Brexit as the catalyst for this required change - much freer trade in the true sense of the word (not just tariff associated)

Conrad, your wild convictions that society will change rapidly could be admired if they had any chance of happening. You seem to now to be preaching a new religion.
You have not factured in the most important thing......Human nature.
The Church of Conrad might attract a few followers, there are a few candidates on this thread that are potential members of your congregation but frankly you are whistling in the dark.
    I wish you luck.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Saying James O'Brien is part of the liberal elite is almost as stupid as the incoherent arguments of the idiot Brexiteer on this clip.

Indeed, I suspect we'll see and hear a lot more BSers on this sort of show in the future, they're easy pickings
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

It's true that Sturgeon has put Scotland in an even worse position than rUK. In the future rUK will be trading with the pound and will be trading with the rest of the world on a UK WTO schedule. Scotland - who knows - could be the Euro, could be the pound - could be trading on an EU WTO schedule - could be a UK schedule?

Who the heck would invest in Scotland?

Leadsom prepares to take food exports ‘to the next level’
A five-year export strategy to open new overseas markets for UK agriculture is being drawn up by the government, Defra secretary Andrea Leadsom has revealed.
The strategy to take the UK’s food and drink sector to the next level is being devised as the UK prepares to leave the European Union.
“The events of recent months mean plenty of export opportunities lie ahead,” said Mrs Leadsom. “We now have a chance to forge a new role for ourselves in the world.”
“Our export team works closely with the Department for International Trade to make sure that food and drink is a core strand of their global export strategy,” she said on Thursday 13 October.
Across the UK, producers have already exported £10.8 billion worth of food and drink in the first half of this year – an increase of almost 6% on 2015.
The drive to increase exports is being backed by Defra’s Great British Food Campaign, which aims to support emerging British companies to export overseas.
Mrs Leadsom will also promote British food exports as part of a UK government delegation to the SIAL agricultural fair in Paris next week, followed by a visit to China.

Distillers want free access to markets
HE Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) has urged the UK Government to support the industry by pressing for ambitious free trade deals with key growth markets such as India, China and Brazil, as the sector prepares for life outside the European Union (EU). As the UK prepares to kick-start the process of putting Brexit into action, the SWA has urged Westminster to prioritise putting trade deals in place with the markets that offer distillers the biggest global growth potential.
Chief among those are India, where despite sustained efforts the EU has been unable to secure unfettered access to the market for Scotch whisky distillers.

A mass of working people feel they have missed out on prosperity and been dumbed down to minimal pay transactional agents with little dignity.

Part of the Brexit mission is to rebalance the economy so it works better for everyone (as Mrs May said). These aren't abstract ideals. These are vital missions.

A lot of grown adults don't want to work for peanuts in a call centre or get paid by delivery for Amazon where a small elite collect all the rewards, they want to do something more real and satisfying and only through a flowering of enterprise is this possible.

You poo poo it all you like, but a few years from now look back and reflect on it once you see a healthier society not so based on mass imports of labour and tatt, all selling one another houses and Ebay carp. Frankly I'm sick of calls from Google enhancers, lets see a few more cider and cheese makers, Tigers tugging udders

Conrad, as an observer of your new religion I am interested in your time lines.
Could you flesh out this new dawn for Britain.
How about putting it down in this thread plus or minus a couple of years.
There are bound to be bumps in the road or does your new faith say that it will be smooth sailing.
    Thanks.

Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said Friday the central bank is prepared to tolerate a small overshoot of its inflation goal to prevent unemployment in the U.K. rising sharply. The BOE expects annual inflation to drift above its 2% goal before returning to target later.

Great news. I find this very interesting. Although I hate that awful management speak "taking it to the next level" ugh. Reminds me of all those MBA's spouting in the boardroom.
That 6% increase so far (End September I presume) is in ££££'s
Do you know how much the volume has increased as the delivered product will be at lower € and $ values.
Was there any predictions being made for the last 3 months of this year and for 2017. Volumes and £ values?
