I always see it as "You get great value for what you pay" rather than it being cheap. We buy razor blade packs, electrical goods, aforementioned magners, the boxes of wine are good value at xmas (not cheap but good value) etc. I really like it.

Oh and the meat and food is amazing! but yes, not somewhere to do your weekly shop!

Interesting you mention razor blades - that's one thing I was hoping would be cheaper - but I was shocked to find they were considerably cheaper in my local Sainsbury :(:(
Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
    Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying
  • Might be worth pointing out they don't take credit cards, and if you take a guest in you have to pay with the registered cardholders switchcard - or cash.

the only thing makro doesnt do is the nice birthday cakes but you can go to a bakery for them i guess. But makro do bedding quilts, food, washing powder and fabric contitioner ect.

    I hope this helps :)

You would never get a birthday cake the size of the one in Costco for £10.99 in a bakers ;)

Does anyone know if there is any condenser tumble driers on offer at costco at the moment please?

Costco via there passport will be doing the whirlpool condenser dryer awz7913 on offer for £187.98 inc vat offer valid from 15.10 till 21.10 if that helps or go to clearance comet auctions as bagains to be had there, i just got a lg 1600 spin washing machine £264 inc delivery which was a lot better than what costco had to offer at the time.

We are a family of five and i tend to do a monthly shop there as even the milk and butter are cheaper there too and everything else food wise i find much better but not always cheaper and hubby always gets his beer when we go.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • I quite liked costco.Good savings on mach 3 razors and good quality pork chops (best I have ever had).
Join with someone elses wife and split the cost between you both, also when your card expires rejoin because if you just continue with your membership it is backdated and if you have not been for a month you have lost one months membership.
  • You also have to watch out for reductions in store as they tend not to publish them to much (Due to the liberal returns policy).

I was in there last week and they were doing High Sierra Hydration Packs (Rucksack with water pack in it). Retail £49.99 Costco were selling before at £29.99, I had considered one but didnt bother, went in last week and they were £4.97!!!

No big sale sign or poster, just the price tag reduced to £4.97 great bargain for ebay. Filled up the car with all they had

They often do reductions on end of season stuff to really insane prices but due to the fact that you can return an item at any time they tend to not push the price drop as it would encourage people to return items they had paid more for to return for the cheaper price.

Last year they did full size Arcade Air Hockey Tables, at £399.99 droped in stages to £49.99 for the last few!!!!

Have to vistit regularly and keep your eyes on the prices..

Another reason why I like Costco is the free tasters. I dont feed my Daughter before we go cos I know shes gonna have a feast when she gets there :D

I do the same, stock up on the bulk buy deals, while I am there top up my food shop with milk etc which is cheaper than the supermarkets.
Chewing gum is another good buy, by the box the Airwaves in particular, as they never sem to be on offer in the shops.

If the freebie food and drink samples aren't upto much, it is nice to grab a bite to eat in the cafe and the cola/tango etc is good value with the free refill.

The only bad point, is they used to have sachets of crushed chillies out with the salt / pepper etc and stopped supplying them. They were fab to borrow to take home to use in cooking lol
