They are obviously missing out as click & collect doesn't earn them the home delivery charge.
I always check in store, as I've found items on the shelves as much as £5 cheaper than from Direct. ( Latest was a toaster, which was on offer in store only)0 -
Are they actually trying to lose customers? They've recently closed their large Home store near me so I used to make use of the C+C to collect from the local superstore. I've stopped grocery shopping at Tesco and will now not bother with C+C either.
What has recently made me cross is that when browsing Tesco online I keep coming across things sold by other stores. I checked yesterday an item on the Tesco site but being sold by Wayfair(er?). Closed the window, then an hour later I'm getting spam email!
Oh, Mr. T - you do not know how your customers are being ticked off!
Thankfully their old Home store has been taken over by The Range, and for my purposes their stuff is brilliant, plus they have a superb crafts section!0 -
Well that will stop me buying most things from Tesco Direct.
Well done Tesco. Your ongoing campaign to lose customers goes from strength to strength.
there continued adverts with the idiot of a son with Ben Miller/Ruth Jones as parents is helping more i think"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0 -
Tesco seem to be going about things in exactly the wrong way to keep their customers. I know supermarkets are having a rough time at the moment, but making changes that make customers less likely to use them (such as the £40 minimum for delivery and this new change) really does not seem sensible.0

quite simple to avoid the charge, order your items , add something to make it over £30 when collecting return it straight away0

Very simple, if you want to spend £30, make a second journey to return the items, then wait for the refund.
Thank goodness there are still alternatives to Tesco.0 -

Why would you need a second journey? You simply tell the assistant that you want to return the items when you collect. Whenever I've done it the refund has been processed straightaway.0 -
This shenanigans shouldn't be necessary.
I'll simply spend elsewhere.
The fact that they have closed a very large Home store in my town which is undergoing a multi-million pound renovation prograamme and attracting new stores into the area, suggests to me that they are in trouble. and making a couple of £s on collection items is pathetic. They do not sell anything that is not available elsewhere, other than their own branded goods and I for one can live without them.
Fortunately, another local garage price matches Tesco so I don't even have to get my petrol there nowadays.
We can live without you Mr. T.0 -

Who is this "we" you are referring to?
I'm glad you can live without them, I guess they can live without you too. You do seem to be getting in a state over something quite insignificant, especially when in June you claimed to have stopped shopping there!0
