    Hello!!!

It has taken me so long to get the internet sorted here - the joys of living in the country (took 2 weeks just to get the phone line connected because BT refused to acknowloedge the house even existed :) )

Anyway, I'm here now (calm down, no need to all shout at once)

Lots and lots has happened, but I will tell all about it tomorrow - am in the middle of prepping toad in the hole for dinner. Am off work until Monday, so I'll have lots of browsing time.

Hope you are all keeping well x

Hi all, LO is finally in bed and the other two will be up shortly thank goodness, it has been a long day today. Thank you for all your hugs they are much appreciated.

Anniestar he is in Glan Clwyd Hospital, a 45 min. bus journey from our home. The consultant has said today that the fluid on his lungs is due to his heart and that they are referring him on to the surgeons (again) and they are sending him for an MRI tomorow. That is a new one that they have not done before. He is OK in himself and as he hates hospitals fairly happy that they are sending him home in a couple of days if all goes well. At least the problem isn't too urgent or they would have shipped him over there and not be talking about coming home.

I have the mother of all headaches today and will be glad when the other two are up and the tidying done. I feel an early night coming on.

OS wise - not a lot apart from the washing is out on the line. The kids wanted beans on toast for tea and I will probably pull something out of the freezer later.

kittenshugs-vi-JudyatDixies.gifto all that need one tonight.

(((hugs))) to you SMOKY - no wonder you've got a headache. Take care of yourself as well as everyone else.

TAPLADY - I've just placed an order with Amazon then read your post and it reminded me that I should have ordered Martin's Thrifty Ways book so I've just nipped back on to Amazon and ordered it to come in the same delivery! So, thanks for the reminder! As regards your DS17yo - he is just being a typical 17yo boy - I know it's no comfort at the moment. My DS2 was exactly the same - treated the place like a hotel and me as the chambermaid-come-waitress-come-bottle-washer and I thought he'd never change but he did. He's 25 now and turned out OK in the end - in fact, he turned into a human being!

Well, just going to have an early bath I think, then do some knitting. May call in later if I don't doze off!

    Hiya!

    Better late than never.

Frogga Hope everything gets sorted out with DH's wages and boss. Might be worth buying a lottery ticket. DH and I always buy an extra one when we're cheesed off with work, never won but makes you feel slightly better until the wrong balls appear!

dlb I think that your DH should ask for his hols while his boss is feeling guilty and maybe a rise too?!? ;)

Well I set the alarm and we actually went swimming at 9am! I was concerned that DD2, age 6 who hasn't had proper swimming lessons might be falling behing in her swimming. She's never had a fear of water, jumping, doing handstands, swimming under the surface with a mask and snorkel etc but just wants to play in the water rather than actually doing any swimming. Anyway she managed to swim 2/3 of a length without stopping and can do the doggy paddle and is attempting to do the front crawl. We're going to try to go twice a month and I'll book her in for some swimming sessions in the school holidays over the next year.

This afternoon I went through the kitchen cupboards and wrote a list of the contents...8 tins of beans etc
Then I did the same with the freezer and found all sorts of stuff hidden at the back...it was like the Tardis! So I'm pretty well stocked up and reckon my £200 grocery budget for Sept shouldn't be too hard.

We've been invited to a 50th birthday party next month and we have to go as our fav film star. I love Doris Day and so I'm going as Calamity Jane. So far I've got a cowboy hat, toy halster and guns, neck scarf etc. I'm going to wear boots, jeans and a shirt but I need a waistcoat and possibly a pair of chaps. The ones for sale in the shops/internet are over £20 and I've looked on Ebay so I might have to attempt to make a waiscoat and chaps. DH is going as Mel Gibson in Gallipoli as he already owns an Anzac uniform. :rotfl:
That's all from me, so have a good evening.

    Smoky,

Many hugs to you all...hope that you are in bed and asleep by now and that all will go well for OH over the next couple of days.

Taplady...congratulations on your continued weight loss...with reference to your son...have been there three times...1 & 2 were fine, straight to Leaving Cert (sort of your A levels) then college for one, apprenticeship for the other and college later. Number 3, possibly the cleverest of them all hated school from the word go and left after Junior Cert (your GCSEs? he was 16). Policy in my house has always been...no passengers so he had a job and was paying towards his keep, got an apprenticeship, had a few very dicey years after a motor bike accident but is now, at 29 rock solid, has a fiancee and 6 year old son and is probably the most conventional of all my children! Your son will be fine and will grow up as we all have to do at sometime or another.

Sleep well all, hugs to all in need
