Morning early birds and all who follow...
JULIAP~ good luck with the op, hope it all goes well for you.
SMOKEYBABE~ hope OH is better today. Sending you positive thoughts.
FROGGA~ try and not worry (easier said than done I know). You should really look into getting your DH’s wages. My OH quit 2 weeks ago and although the company he worked for held his money for a week they did give him all what was owed him plus holiday pay. (Is it not illegal to withhold someone’s wages?)
Didn’t manage to get to sleep till gone 2am, (sciatica) so am well and truly bu*g*red this morning.
OH cooked minted lamb chops last night and by heck it was de~lish!
He even cleaned the cooker after himself. (Was it a full moon last night?:p ) Bless him he’s been really helpful lately. I think he realises that my back is getting worse and I can’t do what I have usually have in the past.
Watched the Liverpool match last night, it brought me to tears when Rhys' family had the minute applause and the Everton song played.
Will force myself to take mutley for a walk soon, seeing as the suns out here in Warrington.
Hugs if needed, coming your way.:grouphug:
Take care everyone, have a good day

Quick update guys
Mortgage co have agreed to a half payment this month so that's a good start.
Bank have given me an extention on my O/D so that will help too.
A bit gutted as was trying to clear O/D not add to it , but it's only a temporary setback!
That should help keep the cats from the lillypad for a while!:rotfl:

Another quickie ~ have asked for some advice on the employment thread with regard to DH's wages being withheld. However as he is Self employed and he signed a contract to say he would give notice I don't think we have a leg to stand on , will fight it though xSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

I'm off from work today :j although I'm having a bit of a lazy start, will jump in the shower and get dressed after this and sieze the day. It's quite a nice day today so I'm thinking of leaving the house, and sorting out the gardenWe live with clay soil, and when the winter comes it is sooo soggy we just don't go out there.
I was going to buy DD some school trousers at the weekend, but thought I'd have a quick look on ebay first, found 2 pairs of M&S trousers BNWT for £2.99, and I won them!! So I saved myself £17 - very pleased with that. I just need to sort out her PE kit and she's sorted for school now.
The car goes in for it's MOT and service tomorrow (more money  ) so fingers crossed it will pass.
Better go and put some washing on and sort out he HUGE ironing pile, then it's into the garden.
Have a great day everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Morning all.
Juliapenquin and Smokeybabe good luck today.
Yesterday I was very good when I was banking my pms. I resisted a t-shirt in the market. It was only £2, but this is often my problem. "Well, it's only £x so that's not going to break the bank." But I have so many t-shirts. I've started to declutter my wardrobe, put some clothes in a charity bag, turn others into cloths and dusters, and sling others straight in the bin. I couldn't possibly justify buying anything at the moment. So I'm feeling very proud, even if it was only £2. (You can tell the price is convincing me it would've been worth buying, can't you?)
Today I have a day off. I only do 3 days per week anyway but I usually have Mondays and Thursdays off. I'm at a presentation in the morning, though, so I swapped Wednesday with Thursday this week. And I'm off to Settle for the day to meet a friend. It'll take a couple of hours to get there. We have lunch, a good natter, change the world, that kind of thing. And then we have a browse in the shops. Last month I was also very good. I bought only what I intended to buy - a pair of walking boots and some new pet dishes. I don't think I want anything today, but I might remember on the drive over.
Have good days.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
JuliaP - Good luck with the op
Catowen - Hope that you manage some sleep tonight
Good morning all,
Hope that everyone is well, :grouphug: to all that need them.
An early morning here, Dh was up at 6.10 and I was hoping that I could sleep a bit longer when I heard my dd through the monitor. Layed for a while and then popped downstairs while she was still fairly quiet. I cleaned up the playroom which was a pit and then mopped downstairs before making tea and warming milk and popping back up, she'd woken my Dad by that time, I felt a bit bad but I just don't get anything done when she's around. My Dad was fine anyway and Isobel went in to say good morning to him. Did breakfast and gave Dad his tablets, he's snoozing on the other sofa, the dog is snoozing next to me on the other sofa and Izzy is watching Pocoyo which is her most favourite program of all time, she's mad about it. She's not dressed yet though (bad Mummy) but i'm seriously considering putting her down for a nap soon, she's been moany all morning and I think that she's tired. I really need to take her out this afternoon as she's getting a bit cabin feaverish, poor thing! We live very close to colchester zoo and I have a season ticket so we might go there, she loves it too, its just quite hilly and I find it a bit hard going.
37 weeks pregnant today, its odd and quite frightening to think that this time in 2 weeks time I will be a Mummy again, I certainly will by the end of the day! It still feels like i'm a bit of a fraud and there's no baby at all, not sure how I would explain the enormous stomach though!
Lunch today probably cheese on toast,
Dinner: Sausage and Mash for dh, dd and Dad - probably pasta for me.
Have a lovely day all.0 -
I'm back! The hotel was nice, went to the Savoy for dinner and the door was closed to the restaurant we were booked at, so we went to the American Bar and had a drink - £16.88 later - for 1 drink each! The server told us that the Banquette was closed on Bank Holidays..... so DH went to the Grill Room with our reservation and got us a table there. No extra charge. Sat down at 6PM; had their early supper menu. Started off with canapes- melba toast fingers with truffled goats cheese. I had Ham hock terrine with capers and prune puree (lovely!) and DH had a smoked haddock omlette thermidor style. He wants me to replicate it for him now, but I don't have the little copper pan it came in! Then trout for me, with confit peppers + spinach, DH had lamb shank with roast tomatoes + potatoes. Dessert was hazelnut mousse brownie for me and strawberry creme brulee for DH. Menu was usually £30 per person. Other a la carte menu was £60 per person! Drinks not included, water OJ and wine were another £18. We also got 2 jewellery boxes of truffles to take with us as we didn't have time for coffee after dessert.
Then off to the play - it wasnt a full house, but it was very good. Tiny theatre! Got DH to go and get a programme for me, but he got the souvenior book instead, so I have no idea who the actors were!
Breakfast was included on the room - OJ, a banana + a yogurt + granola pot from Pret; we still went down to the grille restaurant in the hotel for more. I had some gorgeous french toast with blueberries, maple syrup and a side of bacon (perfect bacon!) - DH had a healthy fry up - grilled toms, mushrooms, bacon and 2 poached eggs on toast.
then I went off to the fracture clinic back home and he went ot his London meeting.
And there.........
...... sat for over 2 1/2 hours to finally see the doc. Says 'is it any better?' I say 'nope - everytime I walk or stand it swells up; got stomped on an the 11th, still hurts here, here, and here.'
So he says 'well, we've got to do something about it, it's been too long,' and off he goes. Comes back and tells me that hes spoken to a foot specialist who has actually told him that there is nothing they can do and that it could take a year to heal. yes, ONE YEAR!
Xrayed again (#7) - my foots going to glow in the dark soon! and shows no more healing than the last time. Told the same old same old - walk on it, have it up, etc. Won't consider that there could be something else wrong with my foot in addition to a broken toe. Also got a tubi-sock thingy to wear; didn't tell my how long to wear it, when etc, and come back in 4 weeks. Beginning to hope that my boss will send to to BUPA to get a specialist there to look at it.
I'm fed up. Haven't been able to do anything I had planned this summer, been basically housebound unless i want to spend a fortune on taxis,
and I AM SO BORED!
(((((HUGS)))))) to any who need one!
Frogga, I think you should talk to an employment solicitor rather than CAB. Even if self-employed, he still is entitled to be paid for the work already done. He wouldn't be entitled to anything else. Been in that situation re: contract and I was told I still had to be paid. And I was.
Haven't read yesterdays thread yet, will do now!0 -
 Hiya all
Its a sunny morning here in Manchester and there is a touch of Autumn in the air methinks.
Am recovering from theft yesterday but DS was very upset that police haven't been in touch yet. All is quiet so far as he is still asleep. Thanks to everyone who was concerned-Dh was not nearly as bad as feared.
FROGGA-great news about mortgage payment, hope all this trouble ends up with your DH getting a better job. Have you ever considered going to overeaters Anonymous- I believe its free.
JULIAP hope all goes smoothly with op.
Must go now have got to get milk before teenagers get up. Love to all
