Toni not sure how far to Norwich you are but Dereham had loads of stuff today. Masses of S & G sets, Sanctuary etc. If it wasn't for my mum living in the city I would have been going here and getting all presents!

Back into my local store again today for a look and they were putting stuff out that they hadn't had this Christmas, the design of the like green label looked like last years.

I have 2 family birthdays in Jan, one today, one tomorrow, both always fall slightly before the 70% off sale.

I did go to Boots today to buy for one of them. There was more stock out eg a lot of lynx sets that definitely weren't there earlier in the week, but frustratingly the new stock didn't have any price labels on them, not on the product and no shelf edge label either.

I *just* managed to buy their present, but it was limited choice, but that's because I was looking for something specific. I'll still go to the 70% sale because a lot of the stock I buy is for stocking filler items for my own household or to have a 'stash' in for when DD wishes to give her friends a birthday present.

I am glad that earlier this week I bought the gift sets for my son and nephew for next xmas at 50% off as they have now all gone from my store. In both cases these will not be main gifts but have been purchased at a cheaper price than I'll get during the year. DS's contain headphones and I can guarantee that they will come in useful ;) and Nephew has very sensitive skin so I can't buy just anything.
  • I couldn't believe how much was left in the trafford centre store today

The Lynx sets haven't had prices on this year as they went to half price at start of December

I first started doing the boots sale in the 'good old days'

The first time I did it must have been 10 or so years ago now (maybe less but seems that long) when I wandered in one day in the afternoon to fine everything 75% off. There was me and 1 other person looking.

Last year I didn't bother getting up for opening, it was too mad and I was buying stuff I didn't want. The grab grab was crazy.

I went in later (Nottingham Vic Centre) and it was still crazy but got some stuff, went back in at 4pm just to be nosey and it was still crazy and they were still bringing pallets of stuff out. They had to keep closing an aisle, filling it and then opening.

I will most likely pop in again this year but buy little, maybe the odd set.

I cant believe anyone makes money off these sets, I had a S and G giftset (the big one) left over this year so sold it online and just got the money back I paid and it took ages to sell.

Ahh thanks. I also think it was the same with some Laura Ashley stuff that I dithered over buying. Looks like in that store, that's the stuff they've brought out. Shame no-one thought to stick a price label on the shelf.

Just a reminder to everyone as peops are likely to forget in all the excitement....
Don't forget your carrier bags & bags for life etc on 70% day; we don't want to be having to shell out all those 5p coins to get the stuff home!!!

Should have also added that in addition to remembering those bags for life to get your stash home, don't forget to check your Boot's App if you have one as there's usually a bonus points on there against a minimum spend.
Also the rewards vouchers, double points etc that were posted out this week too!!
  • I love this every year!!!
Having 2 teen boys I buy 2 of every male gift set I can get,,,,, then give some for birthday and save most for their stockings ( mine have sacks - ex mum in law embroided their names on as babie and they won't part with them , they are big and take some filling ! Hence the gift sets!)
And it saves me buying toilites for the next 6 months!
:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:
