Yeah I might take the large shopers we use for grocery shopping then :) We get the blue bags handed out too, but just for carrying out of the store, I was wondering:)

Yes, I've thought the same about people thinking it's the same, so we're making up hampers for everyone this year. Still doing the Boots sale, but then splitting up all the sets, and making a nice gift hamper with the different selections :)

I'm going to get booed I'm sure for this.... I can't see why the Boots sale is anything special, even at 70% off. I know some people get all their birthday presents etc from it, but the brands on sale are rarely anything special, and I'm sure some recipients will be thinking - 'Oh am I going to get 70% reduced Champneys again from X'. With not too much effort, you can find better brands at sale prices throughout the year. You can also tailor the gift to the individual, rather than getting them something because it's been heavily reduced. For example, I've bought Urban Decay, bareMinerals and Mac kits in sales that to me are much better than No 7 stuff. I've found Elemis sets at excellent prices from sites such as feelunique. Debenhams is often good for decent brands, too. I don't want to be too much of a killjoy, but I really do think that a little searching might get better presents, still at very good prices.

I don't buy people stuff they don't want or need because that wouldn't be very MSE. ;)

Oh, and bare minerals sets are in the sale this year.......

decided to jump the 70% queue this year & tried to shop online at 50% & use my boots points to offset the difference - however, when you click to add whatever items are left to your basket, they simply show not available to buy online!
    I gave up & shopped 70% off at Debenhams & M&S instead!

Hiya :) I'm a Norwich lady, I normally hit the castle mall store but it looked pretty empty last week when I went in compared to previous years so I don't know if I'm going to bother going this year, might do it online instead :) which store do you normally go to?

    Hi Toni_
I think I spoke to you last year :-)
I used to go to Chapelfield first but last year changed to Castle Mall as they have more for children in there. Both shops I've found to be fine, but people are a lot more greedy in CM. I found CF shoppers to be really polite and no shoving! Not sure which one I'll pick this year, I might go in Saturday and just have a look at what's left (although I was told earlier in this thread that you can't go on doing recky's earlier as the stock changes).
Longwater had about 3 shelves full last year, not sure about Riverside......
I'll be there again, with my mum (its our annual day out LOL)
  • For once I am going to avoid the Boots Sale, it took a few years to realise that there is nothing special about what Boots sell as Christmas Gift, I am bored with giving to same things year in year out!

have to agree with the last couple of comments above . Boots sale is far from what it used to be if you click on many of the items on line they are out of stock, my local boots a large one in the retail park they are not having any further reductions as theres nothing left to reduce.

Today they were adding the usual holiday items tanning lotion etc. there was a few items the end of the isle and that's it theres no plans to bring in extra stock.

Yea i think we've spoke before  I think me and my mum are going to go just for a laugh lol and get a few bits, I'm after kids bits too, I might pop in the mall Tuesday night as there open late and have a look around, if I do I'll let you know how it looks :) did you see the lady last year that was in her wheelchair, got out and stacked in piled high with soap and glory gift sets.... I had to laugh, might do that this year with my pushchair :) only kidding....

They say there are no plans but as always they may not be as in the loop as they like to think.
