Good morning.
Sorry I have not updated for a few days, everything has been a bit hectic. I mean't to update yesterday but we had some last minute visitors and spent most of the afternoon tidying the house.
I'm feeling a bit  about money at the moment, it's DD birthday and MIL birthday this month, DS came home wth a letter for a school trip in the summer, its a sports camp for 3 days at £150 and we have said yes as he really wants to go on it and it wouldn't be fair if we said no when his sister is going to France. DH has agreed to a family camping trip this summer, all his family is spread out over the country so every few years they have a big meet up, this year it's a weekend camp in wales so more expense, looks as though the summer holiday abroad is getting further and further away.
Still trying hard to not spend too much on groceries, yesterday I spent £46 but this did include bits to make DD birthday cake. used up some cooked beef last night and made a stirfry for tea. Today will be a baking day as we have no biscuits or cake, will make chocolate brownie and a fruit pavlova, tea tonight will be last of the cooked beef with yorky puds, rst spuds and veg.
Going to sit this afternoon and look at finances, DH is paying the deposit on DS school trip which is £50, the other £100 needs to be paid by the end of march. I have bought DD birthday presents but she wants to go out for her birthday tea to the local Chinese restaurant, although DH is paying for this.
Going to go and make breakfast and have a think.0 -

Hi Brizzled, I'm really trying to focus on the positives and all the little things but sometimes it can be a struggle.
Had a very yummy breakfast of poached eggs on toast with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, still stuffed now so think it will be a late lunch today.
I have hung out a load of washing as the bright orange thing is in the sky, although it is cold so might need finishing on the airer.
Started DD birthday cake and baked the 3 layers needed, im planning on making this.
Although the layers of cake are different colours.
Have a meringue cooking as we speak and then i'm going to make some choc brownies.
I've relisted an item on £bay and found another item to list, will photo and list it later on.
Also persuaded DH to list an item this morning of his that has been floating around for a while which he couldn't be bothered to list, he sold it within 15 mins for £20 BIN, me smug never.

The cake looks fab, am sure your multicoloured sponge version will be even better! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
