  • Everything feels a bit fuzzy, don't seem to be able to make sense of what I should be doing moneywise, want to pay off debt ASAP, but badly need a holiday, want the kids to enjoy what is left of their childhood and enjoy it with them without worrying about every penny.
I need to remain positive and take it one step at a time and not let things overwhelm me.

I know exactly how you feel. I want to give my boys a great childhood full of fun, memories, holidays and toys. But I also want them to know that life isn't always about getting what you want too. Such a hard balancing act.

I think you are doing a fab job Xx

  • Hi Pennywise,

I agree you need to enjoy the kids as they are not going to be young forever and probably won't want to be seen dead with you soon :rotfl:!!

I know what you're saying about paying off the debt as its the vicious circle of well once we pay that off we will have x amount a month but I think you still need to have a life too.

Hope work wasn't too traumatic today xx

  • Agree with the others.. they are only young once and we still do stuff, but budget and save for me as much as possible, but there have been times when we've thought stuff it.. you can't replace memories..

Thankyou, I just keep thinking I've only got a few more years and then they will be off doing there own thing and I can either become a hermit, or sell up and buy a shack in some gloriously hot country and live a simple life, I watched a programme the other night about a guy who did just that, had enough of London, sold up and went and lived a simpe liofe, think it was Thailand or somewhere similar, though I would love to do that.

Exactly, sometimes it is not worth worrying, I want the kids to remember there childhood with fond memories.

Thankyou, you are right as always.x.
  • Afternoon all.

What a manic week, seem to have been meeting myself coming back, we are having a chilled weekend.

DS had a major meltdown last night, brought on by tiredness, he has had a busy first week back at school and has ended up with 3 nights where he hasn't got to bed until at least 10pm, so last night he hit the wall and threw a major wobbly over something and nothing, anyway he had a early night and slept until 10.30am, he is much brighter today thank goodness.

I need to sit and look at money and sort out next months ins and outs, I have placed my first order with m0rrisons, did it through quidc0 and had a voucher for £7 off a £60 shop, so will see how we get on.

Work has been crazy but fun this week, things seem a little more settled.

Sold a couple of bits on 3bay, only made £5, no payouts from surveys though.

    Hope everyone is ok.x.

That does sound like a hectic week for you.

I hope your first M0rrison's shop goes well. Let us know what you thought of the products.

What do you plan to do with the £5 you made from eBay? I was going to suggest you put it towards your holiday. I know £5 won't get you much, but psychologically, it could work well as is 'money earned', whereas its easy for it to get swallowed up in household expenses.
