  • We use Morries for top up shops as it's next to our gym so easy to pop in to. I really like their fruit for price and quality, and they have good deals on each week on other products. I often pick up packed lunch bits and freezer stuff that I didn't really go in for but were worth getting while there. Xx

Morrison's is the supermarket I go to the least, but only because it's the furthest away. I do understand what you are saying about time. Could you do a big shop in Aldi, say once a month for store cupboard stuff (tins, toiletries etc) and do the rest in Morrison's. If not, you shouldn't feel guilty about abandoning Aldi. Sometimes, the stress just isn't worth the financial savings.

Thanks PLMBL, I think I will try a shop with them and see what I think.
Our local ald1 can be hit and miss with fruit and veg, last time I went it was awful and I ended up having to go to sa1nsburys which cost twice as much.

I Will have a look at what I buy that isn't fresh, it's mainly tinned toms, baked beans, pasta and baking stuff, so need to see what the difference is in price, I mostly buy toiletries from home bargains or pound shop and I only use ecover cleaning products as we have a septic tank which I currently buy in sa1nsburys. We buy a lot of fresh fruit, veg and meat because I like to cook from scratch, I would love to be able to do one shop in one store as currently I do a bit here and a bit there to get everything we need and it is so time consuming, I could do it all at sa1nsburys but it would just cost a crazy amount.
  • Choc brownies made, not sure how long they will last between DS, his friend and DH.

Justin Bieber is currently blasting through the house:eek: and I've just about lost the will to live, if I hear that song sorry one more time:mad:.
  • I'm not a Bieber fan but I do quite like the new one! My mama don't like you and she likes every one.......
Every time it comes on I say to DS1 "see, mama knows best!!" :rotfl:

I've probably heard the song but can't think of it off the top of my head, Taylor swift is now blasting which I quite like:D.
  • I think Mozzies is quite good and *if* I had the time that would be my shop of choice, but they don't deliver here and like you, the time spent shopping is time I don't have, so we do Mr T delivery. A few have suggested L1dl to me which is our local bargain shop, but the money saved v the time spent doesn't add up for me, so I haven't done it. I don't know much about @ldi.. but I think you should do what you need for your sanity!

I've always found Mozzies quite reasonable..

  • Hi Pennywise,

Not sure about the fruit and veg delivery wise with Mr M's but about 6 months ago we had a disappointing run with it and its put me right off now. Give it a go though, might be different in different areas.

I currently subscribe to Mr T's delivery saver anytime which is £6 a month and I get my shopping between 10-11 every Sunday. If you're happy with a mid week slot though you can get it for £3 a month. I think most are doing these saver plans now xx

  • Afternoon all.

Not much been happening the last few days, trying to spend as little as possible as I still have a week to go until payday.

Everything feels a bit fuzzy, don't seem to be able to make sense of what I should be doing moneywise, want to pay off debt ASAP, but badly need a holiday, want the kids to enjoy what is left of their childhood and enjoy it with them without worrying about every penny.
I need to remain positive and take it one step at a time and not let things overwhelm me.

Paid min payments on 2 CC this morning and I'm waiting on 2 items finishing on £bay, probably only make around £5 but it is going to the holiday pot.

Using up some left over rst chicken to make a chicken and mushroom pie for tea and I think I will make a syrup sponge as well, also need to pack my work bag for tomorrow.

I think that's it for me at the minute.
