I'm desperate to get back to normal and take down all the decs, hate trying to clean around them, but DC have friends round this week and they want them up, determined to take them all down on New years day and have a good clean for the New year.0 -
Morning.
Banking has been checked and we have about £30 to last until Friday which is doable as all my bills have gone out, do need to do a small bread/milk shop toady and nip to the post office.
Need to make a shopping list and will do a big shop on Friday when I get paid, bit in limbo what to do, do I go back to online shopping for the ease although more expensive than a1di, do I do my weekly shop at Aldi or do a big monthly shop at a1di and then just buy fresh stuff as and when, thinking along the lines of a monthly at aldi, which means a months meal plans but then i'm thinking about a 2 weekly one I just keep rotating. Not sure will have a think!
So i'm back to thinking about the little things to save money, so wood burners on and wood brought in, low on soap in kitchen for handwashing, usually I buy liquid handwash but I have a few solid soaps that need using so I have popped one in a pretty dish on kitchen windowsill, still scavenging plastic bags at work for binbags as I only have a small undersink bin, anything bulky goes straight out and we recycling everything we can, food scraps go to dogs/chickens.
Brekkie is porridge today again, lunch will be soup ad Christmas treats, tea tonight is cottage pie and apple crumble.
Hoping to get a few surveys today with it not being a BH as I need to get going with them again.
Hope everyone is ok xx.0 -

Me too. I did quite a few onepoll surveys yesterday.0 -
Thanks ladies, didn't get round to any surveys yesterday as I spent all morning cleaning and then we had visitors, hopefully I shall get some done today.
Received some sad news yesterday that an elderly relative had passed way, not someone I am close to but I will have to attend the funeral, only problem is there will be members of the family that I have cut out for toxic reasons, thinking of just going to the service and then leaving, at least then I have shown my respects but do not need to mix afterwards.0 -
Penny I'm sorry to read about your bereavement.
I think your idea of going to the ceremony only is a good one.0 -
Sorry to hear your news but think you are doing right about just going to the service. I have always said that if you don't go to a funeral it doesn't mean that you don't think about the person. Do what you want to do.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

Sorry to hear about your relative. Probably best to just attend service then go. I've got the same problem family wise, if anything happened to my cousin, it would be a nightmare avoiding non family members who caused trouble when my mum died (long story but basically hassling me for money). I know they'd probably turn up and I don't want to bump into them ever again.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Afternoon diary.
Yesterday I did a 2 week meal and shopping list, managed to most of what I needed from a1di and the rest from Mr S.
Finances are all sorted for the month and put a budget in place for groceries. I have split the grocery into 3 Groceries, toiletries and cleaning. Toiletries budget is low this month as we have quite a lot of stuff to use up, cleaning I'm trying to use up what I have and then simplify and not have as many bottles of stuff on the go.
Groceries budget January -
Groceries £220/£94.45.
Cleaning £10/£2.68.
Toiletries £10/£9.56.
Surveys are still slow and not close to payout on any, got a feeling its going to be a long month.
Quiet night in tonight, I have saved a bottle of wine from the Christmas stash, we were going to have a takeaway, but decided on an easy tea of HM fish chips and peas.
Happy New Year to everyone reading, Hoping that 2017 will be a good one.0 -
