Afternoon.
Had a busy morning in the kitchen, made some falafel burgers and flatbreads for lunch, served with some salad and leftover dips, very tasty and filling.
Used up some bits of Christmas chocolate that the kids didn't want and have made some tiffin, which they are happily chopping on
, waste not want not.
Tea tonight is toad in the hole using some reduced pigs in blankets, will do some roast pots and veggies to go with it.
Had an email from woman and home and an article that caught my eye about not buying clothes for a year, almost spat my tea out when I started reading it, apparently in a poll the 'average' women spend £15,000 a year on clothes:eek:, don't know any female who would be able to or have the money to spend that in a year on clothes.

All the Christmas decorations are now down and put away, Christmas tree is in the wood shed ready to be chopped up to burn on the stove.
Going to have a declutter this month with new Christmas items i've decided some stuff needs to go, target is 31 items, so 1 item a day should be doable. First item gone today was some old biscuits tins, there was 11 in the cupboard I have kept 4 and put the rest in the recycling.0 -
Afternoon Pennywise,
Falafel flatbreads sound delish!! As does the tiffin. I love how the kids didn't want the chocolate but will happily eat it in something else (assuming they don't know)
haha!!!
£15000 on clothes, who were they doing the poll with celebrities!!
Enjoy the rest of your day xMummytogirls x0 -
I don't know anyone who can afford to spend that much on clothes per year (about £800 per month), even those with minimal outgoings. I spend about £50 per month but that includes birthday/Xmas money. As I have a limited budget, I can't afford to make 'mistakes' with purchases and I appreciate them so much more.0

Afternoon diary.
Not much to update but I'm trying to keep myself on track with my diary (one of my goals this year) as I know it always helps me keep my head straight.
Had a hearty breakfast this morning of bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes and leftover potatoes fried off in bacon fat nom nom, we then took the dogs on a nice long walk to wak off some of the calories, was still full at lunchtime and I've only just felt hungry so I've had some fruit which will do me until teatime, was making beef casserole for tea but DH wants the leftover falafels so going to have those with salad and I will make some more flatbreads, just need to make the dough up which doesn't take long. DS is having a cheese toastie and salad as he doesn't like spicy food, we will eat the casserole tomorrow.
Small spend of £2 on milk today.
Groceries budget January -
Groceries £220/£96.45.
Cleaning £10/£2.68.
Toiletries £10/£9.56.
Declutter challenge continues and today I threw out some scratched DVDs, no idea why we atill had them, also listed one item on £bay and have 2 items to list when I get a minute.
Have a good day xx0 -

Evening diary.
Visited relatives today, we hadn't seen them over Christmas as they went away, so took their xmas present, they had got us a lovely hamper full of biscuits, cake, wine, tea, coffee etc, it will keep the food bill down slightly, children also received some more Christmas money.
Its been a nsd and I've decluttered some old magazines into recycling, still need to list ebay items, will try and get round to it tomorrow.
Few suveys done and have an item on the way to test.0 -
I find I post too much at times, well feels like it, but it really helps to keep me focussed and on track and I figure if people don't want to read my rubbish ramblings, they won't!

Thanks DFOD, I do worry sometimes that people will be bored by my twittering on, but I know I need my diary as when I stop posting things start to slip. Your right people won't read if they find my rambling on boring.
The hamper was a lovely present and nice to have treat items, even posh tea and coffee is nice and will feel a real treat.
Lovely friend has text to say she is coming for lunch on Thursday, I love her to bits and although we don't see loads of each other, when we get together we witter for hours putting the world to rights, she is a friend that it doesn't matter if I havn't seen her for months we are just at ease with other and can be ourselves, I've had friends in the past that seem to want to compete with everything from how clever there child is to having a bigger better car etc, I can't stand that and those friendships have always drifted, a true friend doesn't care about the fact my grey hairs are showing because I havn't got round to dying it or that my clothes are not designer labels or how much my handbag cost, we went through babies together we have seen each other laugh, cry and kept each other sane in those early years of babies and sleep depravation and not knowing what the f**k we were doing, we muddled through together and my god do I Love her for it.
There I go again waffling lol.0
