Gotta love this particular forum. I saw the title, said to myself I would skip straight to the last page where I would see a huge polarised argument and the OP wouldn't have come back, having lit the blue touch paper and retired to a safe distance.

you misunderstood. I am frustrated at the lack of responsibility shown by these people who don't have a job and don't use protection. For a lot of people it's a lifestyle. Have 5 kids, live off the benefits, get a free house and repeat. The kid is unfortunate but I think these parents are so irresponsible their kid should be given to foster parents who desparately want a kid but for whatever reason can't. Hw can a 17 year old be mature enough to raise her own kid when she's not even mature enough to realise that you need to have the financial support first.

I mean if you're so charitable why don't you offer to finance her lifestyle choice.

You say most people contribute than take out, however that's utter rubbish, most people use services well before they are legally able to work.

so let's pay her a salary before she does the work then.

she's 17. how can you justify a 17 year old getting pregnant. it's that attitude in our society that is so wrong. Yes she should get benefits because the baby didn't ask to be put into this world by a 17 year old, but the point is that people like her disgust me. No thought about the life she will give to her kid.

I don't think I did misunderstand, I think you're back tracking. The fact that you are frustrated by someone being in a difficult position, rather than spathetic tell me all I really needed to know.

Instead of constructive advice, you are suggesting this child is taken from his or her parents.

I wonder what age your relatives were when they fell pregnant, or at what age they went to fight and die for freedom.

Because in this country it's been agreed that the state will do so, I'll contribute what I can via the various taxes. Like I said if you don't like it, feel free to leave ( thanks to all those 17 year olds who died in mainland Europe and beyond ).

Before you go though, let's take a look at your ratio of contribution and payment, perhaps the govt should take your house away?

I thought it was her parents that had done that.

Well we as a society can ensure her and her child's safety, but let's not bother.
