Bob sounds like your little one is about to have a growth spurt, make sure you keep up your fluid intake.
Hi BB
It may well be that. Or the fact she had her 12 week jabs on the 31st. The rota virus one is pretty bad. It gives them a dose of it lightly which they then fight off. We've had hideous nappies and flame red cheeks. Mind you if she was older I'd suspect teething too with those symptoms. Anyway thank you the kettle is on as I type

La E I try and save in mini-pots for regular expenses throughout the year e.g. car insurance. I like the idea of having a separate emergency fund for those unseen expenses but I suppose it's just another pot to fill. As long as money is being saved somewhere I don't think it matters
Well I was feeling much better yesterday and set about catching up with all the household stuff that needed doing - Christmas tree came down, hoovered throughout, trip to Mr S, four loads of washing, scrubbed bathroom, mopped kitchen and bathroom floors - then last night I started feeling really queasy again, I think I'd overdone it a tad!
Today I'm not feeling as queasy but just so lethargic - I've spent most of the day in bedI am however enjoying watching the BDO Lakeside darts (I'm a massive fan and was lucky enough to go a couple of years ago on my birthday). Poochy is next to me snoring!
NSD today. Apart from spends from the food budget yesterday I haven't spent anything for days. That and the weight loss has been the only good thing to come out of the last week!
Banking checked. I'm waiting for a cheque to clear to transfer it into a savings pot
FPL and surveys to check
I'm going to try and calculate how much pay I'm likely to get from my extra hours and how much we'll still have to save for the wedding after this. OH was asking how much we're currently short after my extra earnings
I hope I'm in some sort of fit state to at least leave the house and do something productive tomorrow, as I'm back at work on Monday!
Anyway, back to the darts..!!! Have a great evening everyone02 0% £719.20 £599.32

Up early (just after 6) as the dog was asking to go out for a wee, so thought I would start today's thread
Raining yet again here
Anyway, today's list is:
Used up last brown banana with breakfast porridge
No heating on downstairs - will light the wood burner later
Dog walks x 2
See to hens
HM meals from stores
(Not planning any spends)
Sort out greetings cards with a view to finding suitable ones for this month's birthdays
Put unused Christmas cards and wrapping paper away while I am at it
Sort out the basket of empty jars in the larder - I use them, but don't need so many that the basket is overflowing all over the floor!
Take some larger items to my sales unit - our road is to be closed for 4 months from Monday for pavement repairs  and it is going to be a real pain to get the car to the other end of town - or indeed, anywhere  so hopefully I will be able to manage on foot for a while if I do this today! Thank goodness I no longer have to commute, but I feel for neighbours who do!
Take the carrier bag of baby toys that GD is no longer interested in to the CS
Any surveys / check FPL
Right, better get my coat and wellies on and get out to those hens!
Hope you all have a good day
Managed everything except the jam jars, which I will do shortly
Good morning all
Thanks for the start Dawn. What a pain about your road. 4 months is a long time to be without access. Do you have a bicycle? But from what you've said you are on a busy road so maybe not appropriate.
Not busy by London standards Bob - it is really only a little road, a back road between our little town and the next village, and although there is another road and a housing estate leading off it, there is by no means too much traffic to cycle. I no longer have a bike, but it is only a mile to town and I prefer walking to be honest. I usually walk, using the car only if I want to go further afield, or if I need a big shop or need to take large items to my business
It will be a pain for the next few months though!0 -
quick update as DH is in a lot of pain & is having to head to bed - so Having to look after him
So today's list is:-
NSD - done
All meals from stores (Mac & cheese for tea to use up cheese mountain and milk lake) - done
Clean out fridge and note the food that has to be used up - not done but as it looks like DH will be on couch/in bed all day this is on for tomorrow
Menus plan for food that needs used up- as above
Washing and more washing- done
Clean house using stardrops - done
No heating on - done
The bad points:-
Unfortunately I'll need to use the drier for the washing. There's another storm system on its way in (according to Windy Wilson) and that might mean power loss for us (overhead lines & all that) so I really want to get the ironing done tomorrow. - done
There may be some food in the fridge that is way past its best & needs binned (I know - I'm ashamed)
Will catch up tomorrow - have a good night allDebts 07/12/2021

Make cheese with it? Make cauliflower cheese with it and freeze it? Bake it into cake or scones? Make pancakes with it? Freeze it in portions and bake with it later?Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

I always use 'old' milk for scones if I have it, for preference, as they rise better - something to do with the increased acidity making the baking powder work better. If I have only fresh milk I will often add a squeeze of lemon juice for the same effect. 4 pints is rather a lot to use though.
For the bananas, what about Nigel Slater's chocolate muscovado cake:
