Me too HOWMUCH I was a fairy girl but been using Ald! for about 18 month now. If I won the lottery I would not go back. Same goes for their washing powder which is fine for DSs eczema. I do the bulk of my shopping at Ald! and the market. I top up at Mr M but do buy from their world aisle as tin toms and pulses cheaper than Ald! and very good quality. What I buy are less well know British brands aimed at local Asian market. Top Quality at less than own brand prices.

I hope your arthritis improves so you get your knitting done. It's cramp that gets me, caused by my cancer treatment.

Hi new to all this but I seem to have lost a post, forgive me if it appears twice. Went to try out a newly opened Aldi not far away and bought carrots and celery from their super six offer. Part of today will be making celery soup and carrot and coriander soup. Hope to complete some knitting tonight. I knit for a charity called Samaritans purse and I have been given a huge bag of wool by a friend. That wool looks at me accusingly every time I open the cupboard door!

Poppy How do you send your stuff to Samaritans Purse? I'd love to do some knitting for them. I used to do the boxes when Ds was at school and then I found a church that did them so I just used to donate toys.

I gave up when we moved away and at the same time my arthritis was making it difficult to knit I gave up for years and then I tried knitting again a couple of years ago and have been knitting again ever since.

Many thanks for all the replies concerning my students and their food.
We had a sort of ratatouille with rice last night and chatted about their likes/allergies. It appears the meat eater doesn't eat much meat, lol so mostly veggie meals here this week. Will be a fritatta with chips and veg tonight. Packed lunches may prove a little boring though!

I'm busy trying to sort all the clutter in my bedroom. It is all the junk that has been chucked in there whilst sorting the rest of the house. Everywhere else is organised so when this is complete the housework should be a breeze :D

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums and grannies out there :A

Just been sitting thinking about some of the posters that used to post on here. I guess folk come and go as often real life gets in the way, realised that vhalla1478 hasn't been around since before Christmas. I do hope she is OK or perhaps she has gone off on another adventure with her partner somewhere exotic I hope at least :)

She was such an interesting lady and so full of life bless her, I pop in and out depending on what I am up to, and love to see how folk are doing and what ideas they come up with.

This community is so inspiring at times, and really gets you thinking about having a go at something new.
What have some of you tried because of the forum that perhaps you wouldn' t have thought about doing before ???

    Afternoon all

No make doing or mending done today but I've been given a couple of boxes of chocs, a bottle of sherry and some lovely cupcakes to minimise.

hi all - to answer jackies question - it has to be bookfolding! I hadn't even heard of it until one of the posters mentioned she had donated some of her folded books to a CS. I had a look at the pic and thought 'WOW!!! how did she DO that?????' looked it up on Utube and found a really good tutorial, then had a go with the free pattern you can download. I haven't stopped since! Books are my favourite things in the world and I rarely reread them - so turning them into gifts and things I can donate to charity is brilliant!

    Hello MMMers,

Make do: once more unto the reaches of the freezer... and yet another casserole of assorted finds is burbling away and nice smells are wafting through from the kitchen. Lamb, chickpeas, an onion and cumin with a small sprinkle of flaked chilli, in a tomato sauce. Should last me three meals, and enough chickpeas and liquid to whizz up for chickpea and tomato soup as well.

Mend and Minimise: more cardboard boxes re-assembled, and I've used them to send off more stuff to Ziffit. A lifetime's worth of DVDs, CDs and books. And more put aside for charity too. So it's a win for everyone.

I also managed a couple of spells in the garden. I'm emptying some containers which are due to be minimsed and topping up others I'm keeping, with the resultant spare compost which has lots of happy worms in it. Well, they will be happy again once they've got over being dug up and transferred to new living quarters!

Thanks JackieO, I should have known:o I need to brush up on the cockney lingo!
Up here, it's the wooden hill that you go up to go to bed!

Everyone seems to have had a good Mothers Day. I got some flowers and a colouring book with bible verses in. :) and we all went to my parents for dinner. I took flowers to my Mam because she loves stocks even though they have a bit of a strong smell.
