Howmuch - thanks for the tip for Farm Foods - I bought 2 packs of Tuna so I've got some instock now. Made the fishcakes & they're in the freezer for later this week maybe. I've still got sugar left from last year for my jams so didn't take advantage of that.
Yes it's a very good price at £1.95 and a good brand. I went again last week and got DD some tuna, she uses it a fair bit in sarnies and pasta bake. Glad I could helpWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0 -
Forgot to welcome Angela110660 to our MMM we all start off as lurkers. And pop in and out as life allows sometimes I will miss a few weeks before posting again if life over takes.
Well the chest freezer has gone it was collected this evening, DD thinks I'm mad but it's hard to keep on top of the bottom of the freezer so to speak. Lol you know what I mean.
I've been busy today at DD ironing DGS things that we kept ready for the new baby, DD is doing the washing and I'm pegging out and ironing. It's brought back memories especially with the hand knitted things. People commenting on them when we had him out in his buggy. They look so small compared to the things I'm currently washing and ironing for him, he's 3 and ahalf. He already has a dolls buggy I got as a freebie and normally has a teddy in it. Well I got him a boy doll (well I've knitted blue Pram suit for it) hopefully he will become loving towards the doll as DGS is autistic and I'm trying to get him to understand about the new baby.
So I've done well today minimised the freezer
Make do - recycling DGS things for new GC
Mend - anything that need the odd bit of thread as I went along. Why pay full price when you may get it YS0 -
Hello All, been a bit busy/exhausted and grumpy last few days so not been on tinternet really, but feeling more inspired again today, and trying to go for it, not just NBI and MMM but also to increase my fitness and get more 5 a day (I'm a bit obsessed with this, I don't calorie count but I know how many fruit/veg portions I've had!!!)
Well, today have minimised my hair by giving myself a haircut, as it was getting a bit long and straggly. I cut all our family's hair (me, DH, DS and DD), as we have no time or money for hairdresser trips. Luckily I have a long, layered style so it doesn't have to be exactly perfect. Over the years I've perfected DH and DS's with combination of adjustable clippers and scissors, and DD's easy as she just wears hers long and straight.
Have made do with pot of melon chunks for brekkie and lunch combined (bought with boots points on way to work) as had no time for lunch. Luckily there were biscuits supplied during my meeting this pm! I realise that this was not a good day 5-a-day wise, unless a glass of red wine counts (grapes???) but will try harder tomorrow.
have not mended anything today, no time/energy, but have had to rescue DS's school tie which he had chewed and crumpled, by giving it a quick wash and iron (he's only in infants, which I think is a bit young for ties, but there you go).
Lyn, we have just switched from barclays to first direct and it was dead easy, they did it all, and gave us cash for switching too! we left barclays because they started to charge ridiculous overdraft fees and we do need to use our overdraft sometimes (ok, often!), and we just couldn't afford the fees.0 -
I am fed up of pencil sharpeners that don't sharpen or break my 'good' pencils! so fell off the 'no spend' wagon last night, went on amazon to buy a 'good' sharpener, found a bargain with great reviews and ...................some flower punches I absolutely MUST have....... and bargain pompom makers (DD has 'borrowed' mine and I know I wont get them back so want some more). and ended up spending £30! I nearly ordered 10 plastic rulers as they were only £3 odd - but restrained myself because I only want one! and the newsagents near the village shop sell them for about 60p.
I have banned myself from amazon now for at least a month.
make do - lunch was leftovers - bit of meat, some veg from Sunday - made little patties with it and fried them. was ok but not exactly 'gourmet food'.
minimised - does reducing the packs of cheese curls in the cupboard apply?0 -
HOWMUCH, I'm with you on chest freezers, I could never reach the bottom of mine, I now have 2 small 4 drawer freezers and find them much better.Chin up, Titus out.0

Howmuch - I have this mental picture of a chest freezer with a little pair of legs sticking out!
I'm with you though - I have two upright second hand freezers & they're so much easier to organise. I've felt tipped the drawers with what's (generally) in them not too much scrabbling about to find what I need.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
We have two tall Beko freezers called Steve1 & Steve 2 (you need to be a certain age!) for allotment produce. DH is a little OCD and has listed everything in each, down to which freezer & which drawer contain the thing you're looking for. Which works fine until I buy YS bargains, or make too much soup and shuffle everything around to fit stuff in

Not been around much for a while but still working hard at MMM. Big bag in middle of living room so I remember to put it in the car tomorrow.
Making all day everyday for my little business but made Dgs a pouffe to sit/lie on out of about 10 balls of yarn, a cushion and a pillow that were past their best. Recover the cushions with a £1 piece of fabric from a Cs that was hanging about.
Other than that living out of the freezers as much as possible and not buying 'Stuff'
Saw a neighbour throwing away a Dyson the same as mine so I got it off her and so I now have lots of spare parts for mine :jClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Not much MMM going on here. My mum has a really bad head cold so went round to do a bit of shopping for her and get her the paper. She's sensibly got the heating on and is well wrapped up but she is a bit chesty.
Then DD2 rang to say her car had broken down - her brakes had gone:eek: She managed to get it to the garage we normally use and I had to go and pick her up. But now she's going on about how much money the car is costing her, and how it would be cheaper in the long run to get a new one .... So I now have to put her on the insurance for my old Ford a) until her car is repaired, or b) she gets a new one.Books - the original virtual reality.
