Thank you Mrs CD
DD comes home from Saudi Arabia in a few weeks. Her father used to joke that she lived on pineapple and fish when she was at uni. It's true she does like pineapple so I think I may make it for when they come. They will be collecting all their things that have been stored around their relatives for years while they have been travelling the world.0 -
Mrs Cd I had to slice it up and freeze some or I would have scoffed the lot I can highly recommend it but beware as its so addictive to eat

I cut mine into slices and froze it as well, otherwise I would have overdosed on fruit cake, it is gorgeous

FunBrum we freeze excess tomatoes from our allotment then make soup / pasta sauce which go back into the freezer, or passata which goes into jars.
Oh thanks Floss....do I have to do anything to than first? They are quartered as they have come from a restaurant and were destined for the bin! They are fresh but I want o do something with them today or freeze them now that I know I can!
I've made soup/pasta sauce but was given another batch last night!:)Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

I just chuck them into a ziplock bag when I get home and bung that into the freezer. I often roast them and then make into soup with windowsill basil and shallots stored in the shed.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Cheers.....I had an allotment for a few years but gave it up when I moved and it was too far to travel.:(
Only have a front garden now and a back patio with decking so grow a small amount of veg in large pots. I do get lots of freebie veg as well!:DLiving a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

Thanks Ilona...I get quite a lot of spitroast chicken given to me, and although I don't eat much of it, I like to share my good fortune and make up meals for my friends and family members. Roasted tomatoes are yummy. They are in the oven as soon as I get off here!:rotfl:

Minimising Me - I have lost 7.5lb in January so I am very pleased with the effort I put in and it has really reaped rewards! I went swimming 21 times so this month I will add in other activities - today it was an hour's aqua-aerobics which was tough.
I have been following a low FODMAP diet and it has really paid off although we went out for lunch yesterday and I ate something that didn't agree with me.
Making Do - still emptying the freezer and keeping an eye on portion size. I have to say it does seem that not much room has been made. I have been good at not buying biscuits and crisps too. One crisp six pack has lasted us a week at a time! OH is still on board but is starting to moan a bit about lack of goodies.Don't get it perfect - Get it goingBetter Than Before0
