    Welcome Mumof3 to MMM
Well I've heard from the lady regarding my chest freezer she's collecting in Tuesday night. I've transferred the food into the upright freezer, some things I will have to take over and pop into my Dads freezer until I used up what I've got in the other freezer to make space. I can now see exactly what I've got in the drawers so much easier. No MMM today because of the above just got to make do with the food that won't fit into the upright freezers.
It's been horrid here again today weather wise but at least the snow has gone. We're having some of the corned beef hash I made the other day this evening so I've not done any cooking since Thurdays just pinged or fried stuff.
Hope you all have a nice evening.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

My daughter got me some cream laundry bags for my birthday, as the coloured ones I wanted were too expensive. I've been making do with different coloured pillowcases in the meantime. Spent yesterday dyeing them for varying amounts of time and ended up with a pale pink one, dark pink one and a red one-just what I wanted for half the price!

Gave away some boxes for my friend who's moving.

Finally got my daughter to take her 2 boxes of cooking stuff to her new flat, only a few more boxes and bags for her to sort!

Sorry not caught up as its so late :o Just thought I'd report in with this weekends progress:

Make-do : We've made do with the food we have in again. I was going to go shopping yesterday with DD but decided to use a carton of UHT milk instead as we're pretty stocked up on everything else. DD may disagree when she comes to make her packed lunch tomorrow morning but tough!

Mend : I've fixed my coat which has needed doing since before Christmas, and stitched the dogs favourite toy back together again. I fear it may be the last time as the material is getting a little too thin to be stitching together.

Minimise : I've used some boxes from a work delivery to visually minimise the charity pile in my bedroom. It looks like there's less now that all the books are boxed up. I have decided to investigate whether I can make some money off them or not first. Also found a few bits to put aside to pass on to my sister for her business.

I've also had a minor sort out in the kitchen and binned 9 items, not to mention the general rubbish and trying to visually minimise the amount of dog stuff on show. I still haven't found a solution to storing his stuff and we've had him 10 months! I will admit though that I bought a proper 15kg sack of food for him just before Christmas which I bagged up into individual meal bags and they take up a lot more room than I thought! Prior to that I'd been buying it in 2kg bags which was a lot more expensive. :o

I also attacked my planners. I have 2 (a personal and an A5) so I removed the calenders from both (I have a diary to write calender stuff in, which I then keep for reference for future years and I do actually refer back to them), added the extra pages I bought to the personal size and found all the pages I've made to put in them. However I only had the personal sized one when I made them and I now want some of them in the A5 instead so I need to re-print them. But the printer has run out of ink. :o

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

On that note - haven't you all been busy!! Blimey :D

Nice to see you back Vulpix - glad you had a good time with your DD - even when they grow up its lovely to spend time with them!

On that note - I got invited over to DS1 + DIL tonight - just for tea - it was a lovely evening - dogs were so cuddly - DIL's Dad was there too - such a nice man but v ill - bless him.

Make do - lunch from foods already in + tea provided
Mend - 3 pairs of socks!! Holes in the bit where the heel attaches to main bit of sock! So annoying when rest is OK but dont think many folks do this nowadays - most folk throw em out and get new!
Minimise - put a coat out for CS - its still in good nic but as I ve toned up it is now like a wind tunnel rather than a coat. Also took over to DS1 's some doggie treats I ve had in a long time - (dont know if they have a sell-by date but I would hate to give em tummy ache ) + some spring greens and potatoes from my veg box (as am away next weekend and will not have time to eat em up ) + some rice noodles I found in my rummaging (had 2 packs!) + that tin of pineapple - Jackie O you were quite right - that pineapple fruit cake is totally yum!! Thanks to was it Meratin who posted the recipe???? :A What a great use of a random tin of pineapple! :D

    Morning all.
Plan to minimise my patchwork stash again this morning by sewing the squares together I cut out yesterday.
Will do a meal plan for the week later, still working through contents of cupboard and freezer.
Minimised a drill bit back to its owner yesterday, it was a huge long masonry bit that had rolled under the sideboard when the alarm was being fitted, we rang guy when we found it but it's taken a while for him to catch us in.
Plan to go to the CS at the weekend so anything we find will go in a box and bag ready to leave then.

Right I need to make a start so will wish you all a good day.

    Mornin,just a quick one.

I take my charity shop stuff to the Sally Army.At my store they give a £2 credit to spend in store for every one of their bags you donate.I keep one on the go in the spare room and seem to fill it every 2 to 3 weeks.I used to do a lot of car boot sales but don't have anywhere to store it all anymore, plus its hard work loading and unloading the car these days.
I think its a very good scheme of SA,helps them and you.

Just bumping up the recipe for those who are interested.
Original post no 375 on page 19

    Well, here it is....

Sorry it's taken so long to get it down, I had to book a time on the computer! Every time I tried to sneak in, someone else had something 'more important' to do...;)

    Fruit Cake

Pineapple pieces, mashed to a pulp (370g)
    Sunflower Spread (115g)
    Caster Sugar (115g)
Sultanas or any dried fruit (450g)
    SR Flour (115g)
    P Flour (115g)
    Bicarb (1tsp)
    Eggs (2 eggs)
    Cherries to decorate

    Method
Melt butter and sugar in a pan, add sultanas/dried fruit and pineapple and boil for 3 minutes.
    Add Bicarb, stir well.
    Leave to cool overnight.
    Add flour and beaten eggs.
Pour mix into lined tin and decorate with cherry halves.
Cook at 140C for 1½ hours, reduce heat to 130C for ½ hour

    Hope you all enjoy![/QUOTE]
