I have had a carp time and ended with loosing my dog who had been by my side for the last 10 years. I was heartbroken to say the least :(

So I just went off the rails and did what I do best which is buying everything I could lay my hands on

But back on track now as I need to STOP now as its just crazy. My head is still all over the place but will sort myself out :)

  • vintagegal oh no, sorry to hear about your injury. Ouch. Hope you are on the mend soon.

Mavvy my heart goes out to you. Losing a pet is losing a member of your family , do whatever you need to do to feel a bit better. (Little trip to Derbyshire perhaps? You can always stay with me).

It seems like a time of turmoil for lots of people at the moment. I started the new job but knew from the beginning it wasn't for me, the work was boring, I was in my own office rather than in the general office and I was working Monday Wednesday and Friday afternoon so felt like I was just hanging around waiting to go. Trusted my intuition and left. Luckily I was just doing handover so hadn't officially started or signed a contract. So now I'm giving myself time and space until the new year when I will probably start my hypnotherapy practice again. I have also had a few spends during this time but sometimes you have to give yourself permission to do whatever helps.

    Onwards and upwards ladies :heart2::smileyhea

    Hello everyone,
Vintagegal sorry to hear about your injury.
MavvyMoo sorry to hear about your dog. My pet's were always one of the family. I feel for you.
    Sending you both a hug.
Rowan, I hope you have a good rest and hope you find something in the new year more suitable.
I have continued my no spend in clothes. I think that is around 6-8 weeks.
The only clothes spends I will be doing till the end of the year will be with Christmas vouchers.
My access to the internet / mse forum is going to be a bit hit and miss over the next 6 weeks. I will post when I can.

oh wow, what a lot of news.

Vintagegal how did you manage to break your ankle? was it drop kicking the last remaining bag of your x's possessions into 2020?

Mav so sorry to hear about your dog - pets become such a massive part of the family don't they. Big hugs xx

Rowan wow, enjoy your break into the new year.

Well, I have come on here to confes... I went through this a few months back, ended up leaving my cards with my mum so I didn't spend. Sorry to hear about your dog.

Already over budget, I've added £1 that wasn't covered by my voucher in the Nectar Double Up; £9.92 (it was £16 but I had vouchers for the rest) for a Christmas jumper.
  • Hi

So sorry to hear about your dog Mavvymoo. Not surprised you had some retail therapy, you poor thing.

And sorry about your job Rowan Moon. What a year 2016 has been! I am already having high hopes for 2017.

My ankle was broken from a fall in the supermarket, involving possibly impractical shoes and a trolley with a child in it. It has been frustrating as I am usually a very independant person.

So this is Black Friday week and I am determined to concentrate on bargains for Christmas! not clothes that I don't need. I don't think I'll be able to sew myself a Christmas dress though, unless I can do it with my left foot, maybe I will still give it a try!

Hope you are all further forward with the Christmas shopping than I am!

  • Pair of Rocket Dog Ankle boots £26.76 (Amazon). I wear Ankle boots a lot (love them with dresses & skirts) and my previous pair gave up the ghost so these feel justified (<whispers> unlike the pair of knee length boots that are due to arrive on Friday.....which I may or may not keep.....).

Mav,Rowan & Vintagegirl sorry to hear about your respective bad times... xxx

  • OK so the knee length boots arrived yesterday - I'm keeping them.... There's no real justification other than I liked them & they felt sturdy & warm. £69.99 to add to my total
