Yes, thankyou KerriG. The problem is that yesterday I didn't feel the need any longer to stick rigidly to my budgets and went £20 over so I need to keep that in check.

Am only going to buy one new item at a time now, as I still have more weight to lose so am hoping to need even smaller sizes.

I think in the past I didn't get on with skinny jeans/leggings because I was just too big but feel happier about it now.

Well done on becoming debt free (27/10/16).

  • Hello everyone
Sorry I have been AWOL for a while. It must have been a long time because I even forgot my password to log in!
I'm afraid I don't know what I've spent in the meantime. I think I'm going to have to chalk this year up to experience and vow to start again in 2017 which surely has to be a better year than 2016! (if you'll have me back of course) My Dad has had the all clear on his cancer though now, and after a couple of frankly horrific months I may have finally got through to the childrens dad about how the children want him to behave and what access they want to have. It's amazing how we aren't together but I still seem to be the only grown up. Ah well, I shouldn't have expected any different really.
I've started a new sewing course so am hoping to improve a little on that front and then can start on some of the fabric I already have. Am going to try and promise a purchase free November as a start!
You are all so focused still and making such bargainous purchases. I still have a lot to learn but I'm trying not to be hard on myself because it has been a very emotional year.
Has anybody thought about a Christmas party dress/outfit yet?? I might make one this year. I have some gold brocade fabric that would make a lovely skirt part on a fifties style dress. Maybe I could find a piece of black velvet for the top.... only if its cheap though! Although I have some lovely red cotton print that would also be lovely.
    Hope you are all ok

This week I've bought some shoes (same as some I already have but they were £3 in the sale so will save me money in the long run.) Also had to get a pair of wellies in the 25% off TU as I didn't have any. Fluffy on the inside and only £13.50, bargain.
  • Jazee - congratulations on becoming debt free :T

GemGem - well done on your no spend month... :)

Kim13 - did you keep the coat?

Vintagegal - nice to have you back - great news about your Dad :). Sounds like you've made some headway with your ex. Love the sound of your dress idea. I'm not buying anything new for Christmas - I've got a lot of nice things in the wardrobe that don't get out much !!I've got a lovely ankle length mirrored skirt that I've worn on Christmas Day for the last few years - I think it may make an appearance again this year.

Welcome back vintagegal great news about your dad, ex sounds like you're very lucky he's your ex ;) and fab idea about the Xmas party outfit, no chance of anyone turning up in the same outfit there. You're sounding really positive, hang onto those good thoughts.

Sports vest from VS has been worn (and washed) several times since I bought it, as have one of the pairs of jeans, OH really likes his too so win win there, and the jumper I also bought has been worn a lot (in the ironing pile ATM).

No further spends here despite wanting the Tikiboo Halloween leggings, I just couldn't justify them. I did wear my Corpse Bride ones for yoga last Monday though to get into the spirit. Glad they were only cheap as not the best fit (bit baggy in places) and a tad seethrough in some areas (OH was behind me for those and the studio is quite dark so no dignity lost...well at least not due to leggings :rotfl:)

I did buy a pair of 'ripped' tights from Primarni for pole halloween dress us, £3 there but quite like the mother anyway. Omg my arms hurt the next day as obv tights are not exactly ideal pole climbing attire and thus it was mainly my arms doing the work.

Morning all. Another 3 pairs of jeans purchased (I know, I know!) and one jumper so another £29.96 added to total. The bargains were too hard to resist.

I think that now I'm up to £287.13 and my wardrobe is full, that that is probably it for my clothes spending this year.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • £1.00 spent on short sleeved cotton cardi from CS - Primark BNWT - nothing special but one of those really useful items - put away for Spring.
