My local charity shop had a Black Friday Sale - 5 dresses (4 Desigual & 1 Bravissimo) + a pair of leather gloves - £14.49!!! They are all in amazing condition! Super-happyShifting my energy for 20200

I went to a charity do last night and bought two lovely blouses, so £8 added to total.
And two coats purchased from CS this morning (I need them as I've lost weight) so another £8 added to total.

Slightly off topic but - Does anyone know of any reputable agencies / trading assistants who sell items on eBay for others? i have a friend who has a LOT of good quality clothes (lagenlook in large sizes- apparently it fetches good prices). She is very unwell & can't do the selling herself. I haven't got the time to do it for her (& I hate selling on ebay with a vengeance) . i can't seem to find anything online. I know a few years ago there were lots of these places but they seem to have all disappeared. ThanksShifting my energy for 20200

3 pairs of trainers, 1 t shirt and some pyjamas. Oh dear.
In my defence the trainers were in the sale and the pyjamas were only £5.43 (Asda had them at £8 for a week instead of the usual £16 and I had a coupon.)
Lost count again, can't remember if I added the T Shirt or not (was ordered online.)0 -

I can't remember any names but they do exist, not to sure how good they are or what the fees/terms and conditions are like but could be worth investigating.
I would recommend asking on the 'Make 10 a day' thread as I think that's where I first heard about them.
I have had quite a good haul in my local favourite charity shop recently. It's doing a buy one get one free promotion.
Bought a 5 quid Christmas jumper and got a free leopard print zara jumper with that. The Christmas jumper comes under my Christmas budget so will claim 2.50 for the Zara jumper.
Then last Sunday I found a lovely M&S white fluffy jumper (4.50), so got a free blue denim like shirt (also M&S)

Hi everyone!
Just delurking to admit that having failed to set a budget amount at the start of the year I haven't managed to track my spending on clothes particularly well!
However, I have made progress! This year I've been trying to stop buying any new clothes (except undies if they need replacing) and to make them or buy from a CS instead. So far I've stuck with this and was especially happy with my Summer makes. I'm now learning to loom knit in the hope I can make a couple of winter items.
I'm still basically doing project 333 but keeping clothes not currently in use in the spare room. Every season when I pick my 33 items I am shopping my wardrobe and making a list of items I want to make or refashion.
Next year I hope to be more intentional and I will track my CS and sewing spends.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Hello all, just popping in to give my final year total of £303.13 as I won't be buying any new clothes for the rest of the year.
I didn't set a total, just that I'd buy needs not wants and only from CS if possible. Well, I didn't quite keep to any of that, but my total is less than what I set for the original year I joined this (£360 which I didn't keep to) so I have to say that my spending habits have definitely improved and I intend to keep this going.
Thanks for all your support.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Hi All
The year is rapidly coming to a close.
Two questions:
- Would we like to repeat the challenge in 2017?
- Who would like to run it?
I kicked it off last year and although I enjoyed it - I would prefer just to be a participant in 2017 as its likely that I won't be on MSE so regularly. I wondered if anyone else would be willing to kick it off next year?
It's not a lot of work overall. It requires some attention at the beginning of the year when most people join but beyond that it pretty much runs itself. I would be very happy to "talk you through" it - if you've never started a thread before. (it's not rocket science though so you probably won't need my help)!
So - Any takers? :AShifting my energy for 20200
