  • Hi everyone,

Firmly on board this morning. Have been Unsubscribing like mad which is very satisfying and will definitely help me not to get sucked in by Sale emails.

Worked this morning; now planning a quiet afternoon looking for things to put on Fleabay.
  • NBI today! Washed two large bags we had shoved under our bed that I forgot about and they both came up great in the washing machine!

Need to pop out to shop to buy mince but I have a few pence put away to stock up on any YS I find..

Day 50/366. Well I have most definitely bought it...£50 spent on a pair of Doc Marten shoes from Ebay [including p&p]. Not an impulsive buy though. My Morris dancing season is a lot longer than many sides and the style of dancing is very energetic involving covering a lot of ground at speed. We wear black footwear and it has to be able to absorb shock aswell as being tough. Two pairs of cheaper black boots later which haven't stood the test over the last three years so these will support my feet and have good soles on them. They are pre-owned and should be a good buy. Last summer I bought a brass ring for £15 which again I wear when I'm dancing. However, it is too big and the jeweller quoted me £25 to get it made smaller at the weekend. Now I know the size it needs to be Mr GBT reckons he can cut a bit out and then solder it back together. Got to be worth a try. The left over stock from yesterday's SC meal provided Mr GBT with soup for his lunch today.

  • Ahoy there!
Have not been on here for a few days because my grandaughter, Allora, was born on the 19th Feb at 16.41 :j :D

She was at least a week early so I have been over in Northampton - cleaning house /doing washing/ walking and feeding dogs/washing up etc for them as son has been busy getting a new business off the ground and DIL has been to big and exhausted to do much!

This led to a lot of spending that was not NBI such as meals and coffees at the hospital (as babe is small she has to stay in for 5 days! Both my son and DIL are tiny so I think there is nowt to worry about!). However, this is the point of NBI to me - having monies for such events to hand and not having to go into overdraft/debt to manage such times AND/OR spend it on what matters to us/ I have to say I am not sure I could enjoy a 5k holiday but it is all relative I suppose (5k is a lot to me but not to them??) - as long as they had as much fun as I have had walking DS1s doggies this week - they do make me giggle!! The great big Seluki crossed with a boxer (yes, a deeply weird looking dog but a rescue) jumping about 6 feet in the air when startled as a duck suddenly flew past him quacking! I dont think he knew ducks could fly!! Poor thing! :rotfl: V NBI

Jackie O I too pick up elastic bands - I never buy them - my boys used to make rubber band balls and try to design them to be the bounciest! :D v NBI :D

Primrose - ta for the info re stamps
PM2326 - look on the diarist page for Shanghi Jimmy's diary called Attacking the banks - he is really inspirational!! I read him every day! He is op his mortgage and has spread sheets available and talks about calculating his interest daily and how much he has got it down by!
My sins are real coffee and chocolate - luckily L!dils are v reasonable :j and v comparable with my totally luxury brands :j - C!sta and Hotel Choc!lat!!! :o
    Nite all!

  • Congratulations Lyn on the new grandbaby! Gorgeous name..

Not sure if it is quite NBI but me and OH forgot about an Amazon voucher we got given for our wedding last September, so we went on and used £80 of it for stuff for the new baby. All on my list of things to get and means we can save a little cash! Should be delivered early next week so it'll have arrived at home when I do :) pretty chuffed about that! Still have £35 voucher sitting there but I think I'll leave it for the end of the year when I can order stuff for the big C word!

Other than that, NSD here! Started my packing for my travels next week, my sisters wedding present of birdy cages are all wrapped up and hopefully will get through the journey unscathed to her. Leftovers for lunch I think and then beef stir fry for dinner..

    Congrats Lyn! :T

Finished up a few more beauty products, and replaced them with items from my stash. I'm keeping notes on the ones I really love so I'll know where it's worth spending my money in future.

Payday for DH today so time to do our budget. My wages just go straight into savings at the moment.

EDIT: done our budget and looked at the presents I want to give for events coming up. Went on the sale at my fave garden website and got 2xMothers Day gifts, a bday gift to tuck away for DM in June, and two very early Christmas presents :rotfl: all for £30 total with delivery, and a free pack of pretty note cards. Quite pleased with that!
  • Congrats on the newest addition, Lyn :D
