Morning all, catching up after a week or two

    To recap
-I love kale, and have had it in a smoothie,
    - I don't take any notice of total cholesterol levels, they are meaningless.
    - I won't ever take statins, I think they are evil things (my opinion to some extent, but based on what I have read)
    - considering Botox at some point but don't want to "go" to soon
    - as LL says "thank you " is s complete sentence, a bit like "no"
    - I do the 5:2 but haven't so much since Christmas and my weight was starting to creep back on. I did my first of the year last Friday and loved it so will continue with it. Stomach was quite upset on Saturday however, but it might have been the shock after so long off.
    - going back to yoga next week. (On hols in gran canaria atm, so it'll have to wait, but this week lots of swimming and walking in the sunshine:T)

    Phew I think that's it.

It's March, people, my favourite day of the year. Feel like winter is over (even if it's still bliddy cold), up and at em
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hope you're enjoying the sunshine VJsmum.

My DH tried statins (2 sorts) one made him feel incredibly tired and the other made his legs ache painfully. So he decided to focus on eating healthily and that seems to keep his cholesterol under control.

I got so many compliments from different men last night, that I felt 'pretty'. I get told I am pretty or beautiful, but that is not what I think when I look in the mirror. I tend to notice my flaws rather than the parts of me that I can be pleased about.

Sadly, I think we all tend to be hyper critical of ourselves sugarbaby. I suppose that's what this thread is all about:ignoring the inner voice that can puts us down and making the absolute best of ourselves.

My team are on TV tonight so I'll be off to the pub to watch. I'm conscious of overeating at the weekend so I'll try to find a healthy option (steak and salad?). It'll be smart casual so probably jeans, boots etc and definitely make an effort with make up. After a wet morning it's cleared up here now so we may have a brisk walk there or back.

I've put the Aldi cream that was affecting my eyes to good use by making an effort to cream my neck properly every day. I used to use neck cream regularly but got out of the habit so I'm trying again. I know miracle creams don't exist but I think the very act of pampering makes me feel better about myself.:)

Sugarbabe I agree with Mamanon this one, I'm another one who can't see "it" in themselves despite what anyone says, I know I don't let anyone else put themselves down when I'm around but I always do it to myself. We need to start being our own fab best friends instead of being so self critical even though it's easier said than done. Sounds like you had a great night out Sugarbabe I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

    The Orangutan is back.......

Just spent two days helping my dad move....I am done for. Probably l need to go back one more day to help clean through and do a couple of tip runs but that can wait until the weekend.

One thing I have learned ........no matter what else I ever do I will never hoard .....I will Continue on my Kondo journey to a life of "elegant simplicity" I'm getting there slowly but I still have some way to go yet.

Moving my father's stuff was an absolute nightmare. Most of it was all worn out carp and detritus -how many spare pairs of pre loved shoelaces does a man of 90 need. Especially when he now wears shoes with easy Velcro fasteners......:rotfl:

Sugarbaby.....is this the same woman of a few weeks ago, getting dolled up, and out partying, dancing and karaoke-ing .....sounds like you know how to have a good time. And I love the sound of your outfits.

Coppers and Maman are so right - we shouldn't be critical of ourselves. If it was our daughters we would soon put a stop to it, we would do everything to boost their confidence and self esteem. So we must be the mother to our inner daughter and make sure we nurture ourselves a bit more.

I have started paying a lot more attention to my neck and chest too, along with my elbow, knees and feet. It's a great way to use up all those creams that don't suit our faces.

VJ's mum - love your quick recap. Very succinct.:rotfl:

Hope you are having a lovely holiday in Gran Canaria. Lovely place.

March 1st today, dads 90th birthday. Tomorrow would have been my husband's 59th. I have to confess I feel a little low today - it just seems very unfair to die so young and to be ill for almost a decade prior to that.

Hey ho, there is nothing to be done. Can't turn back the clock.

I've told my sister dad will have to manage without me tomorrow - I need some me time. She understands so if he gets a bit shirty she will put him in his Place for me and ensure that I'm left alone.

I slipped off the Paleo wagon today - grabbing food on the run but a nice healthy meal tonight and then back on track tomorrow.

I can tell I'm shattered and have overdone things a bit, my neck glands are very sore again so time for a nice couple of days rest and a bit of pampering are on the cards for me.

Hello all a quick fly by...

Sorry I have been MIA by feeling s little rubbish.... I have booked an appointment with go again to look at going back on medication and have a chat. MM & LL thank you for your advice on this and I think your both right- just because you finally feel a bit better is not the time to instantly stop... Discussion and plan with gp required I think.

I have also booked done classes at the gym it's Time to get up & at em as they say and I know it makes me feel much better it's just the motivation to go.... Which then makes me want to eat better...

Chanie I know what you mean- I don't have curly hair but mine needs serious attention- cut & highlights booked for Friday this week :)

As for Botox- I am going to get a laser treatment so sun damage first then I am going to get Botox- I believe it will help with headaches and with hopefully make me look well rested too... I think I'm going to give it a go and see how I get on...

Better get a wriggle on for work .... Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone...

Have s good day people :)

Well done for booking some gym classes and hairdressers, it's a good start.

I'm off work tomorrow, for a shopping and pampering day. All of my holiday gets used up for school holidays so I rarely get a day to myself.

In terms of fabbing, I've been using my new creme blusher, which is a nice subtle shade for work. I've also been wearing some hair accessories, which make me feel a bit more polished.

Well done for booking the classes sweetcheeks.
Chanie, I think there are some lovely hair accessories around now - sadly, I think I'm now a bit too old for them though :( Have a lovely day off - hope you thoroughly spoil yourself:)
I've not long got in from Football - disappointing result and very cold evening so lots of layers were required and my favourite long cream woolly scarf - it's a lovely soft cable knit with Pom proms on and it's very cosy.
I'm still quite pleased with my hair colour and managed to dry it ok today.
Just having a cuppa and reading a chapter of my book to unwind s bit before bed, then hopefully I'll get a decent night's rest.
    Night all x

I had quite a nice day today. I put on nice clothes, shoes and handbag - no make up, due to going for the facial. The Therapist said my skin was looking better and I said it was because the less I do to my skin, the better it looks (although it's not brilliant).

Whilst out shopping, I was looking for an outfit to wear to a couple of weddings I have. I have a good idea of what suits me, so I tend not to feel disheartened when I try on stuff that doesn't suit me. I was disheartened about my weight, as I've noticed that things don't fit me as well and it took me ages to find a dress I liked. I guess that's the problem with fabbing, once you identify what suits you, it makes shopping more difficult as you rule out 99.9% of items, when you know the colour doesn't suit you, the material is poor quality or the cut isn't quite right.

New medication from GP today snri medication, it can be used for anxiety, depression and fybro & joint pains I let's see what happens with this one.... Apparently weight loss is a side effect with this medication :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I suppose there has to be an up side!! Let's hope it's the one side effect I get ) :T:rotfl:

So not great comments online about it BUT it's like everything people only want to write about the down side... I'm back in less than 4 weeks do will need to see what happens - fingers crossed.

Not much else to report, wide away but alert if you know what I mean... Sorry for not commenting individually...
    Hope everyone is well.
You are right about the hair tho- thank goodness it's hair day tomorrow I'm tying it back in small ponytail and just leaving it- looking forward to tomorrow.

    God night all
