Somewhat echoing Maman's post, I have come across so many people both IRL and virtually that seem to have the February blues, and you have had so many extra things to contend with LL, I hope that you are feeling more chipper soon:)

I have felt like I could fall out with my own shadow too, but have managed a few positives (a few frogs swallowed!). The GP who saw me through all my health stuff in 2015 has retired:(, she was so nice to deal with. I have:-

1 Made appointment and saw another lovely Doc, who is going to check out the last remaining bits and bobs from 2015.

    2. Have appointment on Friday for blood tests to see if anything has improved/deteriorated since last lot end of summer.

    3. Have appointment to see new nice GP about my aches and pains.

    4. Seeing a cranial osteopath tomorrow (private:() about my painful jaw, that means I am having great difficulty in opening my mouth to get food in.

    5. Spent a small fortune (over £50) on a variety of "different" flours to try and make some GF bakes that are edible, have found a blog of a lady who is Coeliac and her daughter too, she has spent the last 4+ years studying the different properties of these flours and recipe testing to produce food that has texture and taste like proper food:D So far I have made, dumplings, pancakes, cheese scones, shortbread biscuits and banana loaf that are absolutely scrumptious, even OH cannot tell the difference, at this rate I am hopeful that I will be able to put back a few pounds and get stable (this week I was only 3 lbs away from being underweight:( Apologies to those that are struggling to loose weight, but I have not been able to get down enough calories, particularly as I don't have a very sweet tooth and commercial GF baking is just sugar and chemicals. I am so looking forward to having more energy too:D

Ellsbel - your trip out sounds great, Mr MM has suggested that we do something like that tomorrow, not sure what as it is half term.

Sorry for long post, a change to have actually had something to report:)

ll sorry to read you don't like February, but at least it is a short month!!!!

maddie good luck with the GF baking. Your food sounds lovely.

    maman your day sounds lovely.

We had a non-eventful Valentine's Day. Me and OH hate going out to over priced restaurants so we'll do something together in the coming weeks. It was also my nephews birthday so we had a little party at my Mums. I told OH that his Valentine's Day present was me going to the party and letting him watch the football in peace!!!

Whilst I was there, I popped to the beauticians and got my armpits waxed. My local salon charges £8, but I pay £5 near my Mums. I haven't been to my mum's for a few weeks, so it was long overdue.

Hi all and hugs ll I hope the docs can come up with something constructive to help your tummy troubles and that march is an easier month for you.
I am finally feeling almost human again after 2 1/2 weeks of a horrible bug. So today I'm going to be fabbing the house as apart from cooking dinner and keeping the dishwasher and washing machine going I haven't been able to do anything. I'm also going to the library with my DGD this afternoon, she's 2 next month and loves books so I try to take her twice a week, so I will scrub up a bit to look presentable :)
My OH is working away at the moment so I didn't do anything for valentines but to be honest we wouldn't have done anything special if he was here anyway, neither of us are very romantic.
konMarie and fabbing all the way

OH and I don't do Valentines day either, when we got together we were so stony broke that we agreed not to use any much needed funds celebrating it, we buy little treats to each other quite often anyway and enjoy that more. I might look later to see if there are any flowers at vastly reduced prices in the shops though:money:

Today is "decimal day", 45 years today since I passed my driving test, my next door neighbour had recently passed his test at the second attempt and he very ungallantly said that I had only passed first time because of the shortness of my mini skirt:rotfl:

Sun shining brightly here OH taking me out for lunch at a farm shop and restaurant that do the nicest food and then a walk around some NT grounds I think with dog, hopefully some spring flowers to be seen.

    Have a lovely day *maddie*:)
Glad you're feeling a bit better *lolly*
*maman*, I see what you mean about the grunting:D. I did enjoy the film though and was left wanting to know more about the man, and with a craving to visit a gallery:D. DH has a few days off soon so I will get him to put one of them aside to do that with me, in the meantime I might see if there's a good biography I can treat myself to:)
I'm having a lie in this morning; shameful I know but it's the first time in a while that I've not *had* to get up for something or someone!
Will get up and shower and dress in a bit though, and may go into town to browse in the bookstore and do a bit of window shopping and people watching:)
ETA - did anyone see any of the BAFTA ceremony last night? I watched a bit - these things aren't usually my cup of tea - but I was struck by how "samey" a lot of the gowns, hair- do's etc., looked. Mind you, it must be a nightmare deciding on your look for events like this, knowing that you could well be picked to pieces on the front of the tabloids the following day - glad I don't have that problem!!

I'm another that passed their test first time in the days of mini skirts but I had the added advantage of a lacy see-through top!!:D

Have a lovely day maddie. I remember going to Attingham Park and the guide telling us it was deliberately built so that it could be seen from the road to show off wealth. At the time this was considered really common so rather like a Georgian version of a footballers' wives house!!:rotfl:

Glad to hear you're picking up at last lolly. Great idea to keep using the library.

Hope you're enjoying your 'freedom' ellsbel.

I've had a good pamper session this morning including creaming my feet and a clay mask . I'm not sure if it does any good but I always feel better when I've made an effort. I've got quite a bit of paperwork to do through the week so will try to make a start today as out for lunch later in the week (twice). Will get dressed and made up properly later to go dancing.

Have a good day all, it's gloriously sunny here if a bit nippy.:)

    Good Morning Lovely Ladies

All this talk of mini skirts and lacy tops helping you to pass your driving tests....you're a rum lot.:rotfl:

I love visiting country houses and mansions - they definitely were the "footballers wives" properties of their day - they must have screamed wealth and prestige. I have a NT renewal form waiting for my attention.

Speaking of properties, although not in the same league, I have decided to back out of my fiat purchase. I spent the weekend trawling through a copy of the lease.......not for me......far too many covenants, restrictions and compromises. Back to the drawing Board. No worries I'm happy here for now.

I had a Load of tests done this morning so just sitting with my feet up and will then get busy in the kitchen. Going to do a bit of batch cooking because I'm out all day tomorrow. Meeting a friend and Going up to MacArthur Glenn for a mooch - might start looking for a wedding outfit - assuming the weather is ok.

It's bright here but very cold and snow is forecast.

Greenbee - thank you so much for your kind offer but I will decline. Turns out my dad won't need his bed when he moves, he's going down to a single so I'll take his, like yours it's as new. Thanks again for your kind offer.

Lolly. Glad you are feeling better, it's been a while hasn't it.

Thanks for all your well wishes - I'm ok really, just in the doldrums a bit. I bought DS2 a bag of Lindt chocolate hearts yesterday - half price of course - and we munched our way through those. Cheered me up.:rotfl:

And of course Spring is just round the corner.

Actually I feel much happier now that I've backed out of buying the flat. Ds2 and I discussed all the pros and cons last night, and I talked it over with dad this morning. They both think I have made the right decision and in a funny way I feel that a weight has been lifted. I do feel much brighter today, I think it's been nagging away at the back of my mind that, lovely as it it was, it's not quite right for me.

Hey ho....rest break over, time for a bit of domestic godessing.

LL I think you have done the right thing in pulling out of the purchase if you aren't sure. Well done for making the decision, as I know that sometimes it can be the harder option than to muddle along.

    What are you plans now?

Being an expert in property (well I watch Homes Under the Hammer so I must be:D) I know there are lots of downsides to leasehold properties especially with service charges and the like. OK so the plus side is that you only need to worry about the inside of your own apartment (assuming the Management Company is honest and efficient) but that comes at a cost.

I think you're young, fit and able enough to manage your own property. There'll be a time for a retirement flat many years down the line.:)

Yes it was mainly the idea of the management company issues which put me off. I guess I'm just a control freak;)

Speaking of control freaks, I am currently reading Steve Jobs's (co founder of Apple) biography.

    And I thought I was a perfectionist.......:rotfl:

No immediate plans. If I spot something then great but I'm not going to "actively" search for a few weeks. I'm not going to fret. I've got plenty to keep me occupied.

We are aiming to move dad in a couple of weeks. He refuses to do a declutter before he moves..........yes I know - it's just making everything so much more difficult. He won't listen and if I try to encourage him to get organised he just loses it and shouts at me so I'm afraid I've given up. I just cant take it any more. Last week I gave up a day to take him to the bank and ferry him around to do his errands. He did nothing but criticise my driving, the way I parked the car, you name it. Ok I'm not "the stig" but still he is such an Ungrateful wretch.:rotfl:

I guess we will just have to get his stuff over to my sisters as best we can and then she will have to go through it all with him afterwards.. As if she hasn't got enough on her plate. I feel guilty for not Helping enough but if he won't let me, there's not much I can do. It's going to be chaos - he has far too much stuff.

Whilst I admire her for taking him on I do worry that she doesn't quite realise what she is letting herself in for. It's bad enough now but as his health deteriorates he'll be a nightmare.

Some people are patient patients and like my mum and my husband are naturally pleasant, easy going and sunny natured. They accept their limitations with grace, charm, courage and dignity. Dad won't be able to - he will just become increasingly more difficult and cantankerous.

I was reading an article today about the "sandwich generation" - ie women (and it's usually women) in their 50s and 60's trying to cope with their own children, their aging parents, their spouses, their jobs and probably also going through the menopause all at once.

This will be my sister and I'm concerned that it's all going to be too much for her.

After the move and when the dust has settled I just want to concentrate on myself, the boys and DIL, get ourselves ready for the wedding.....Time is marching on and I definitely need some intensive fabbing if I'm going to pass muster......:rotfl:

Clothes, hair, skin etc..I'm well behind schedule.

There's a few jobs here that need finishing off too so TBH the house hunt can go on the back burner for a while.

Ds2 is in no hurry to get rid of me. I think he enjoys his creature comforts, home cooking and regular visits from the shirt fairy.

Still no sign of Miss Right........bless him.:rotfl:
