    Evening all!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas! I got lots of great fabbing gifts :)

Just a quick question if any of you know. I want to to use a cheap gradual tan like the dove or johnsons one. Just wondered if I put it on in the evening if it would mark my sheets orange? My sheets are pale cream and expensive so don't want to wreck them!

Looking forward to a new year of fabbing :)

Glad you had a good Christmas clippy.

I use those gradual tans but generally dilute them a bit with moisturiser as I use them to top up natural tan. I always use them in the morning after my shower. I don't get dressed properly immediately (generally potter about a bit cleaning the bathroom in my nightie) but never noticed any marking.

Sorry, not helpful to your sheets. I suppose I'm saying don't risk it and put it on in the morning at least at first.

I'm ashamed to say I've never learned to ride a bike:o. Being Welsh I was brought up in a very hilly area so bikes aren't a popular/safe mode of transport for children or adults. By the time children were considered old enough to ride (about 11) I had no interest. Good luck to you indie and chanie, seems a very healthy thing to do as well as making the commute easier.

We had visitors for Christmas. Did the usual eat and drink too much although did get out for a lovely, long walk yesterday. Today we're relaxing and I made a start knitting my scarf!:)

My dad taught me in our back garden when I was about 6 or 7. I can remember using bikes in the drive or on our street but didn't often go further. But the bike instructor says I can have as many free lessons as I want so hopefully the riding bit will come back to me and I can focus on getting used to traffic etc. Would be nice to get out on a ride with my dad too - he is in his 70s and cycles - it's a good way of escaping from mum for a few hours.

    :rotfl:

My brother tried (but failed:o) to teach me but he's gone on to competitive cycling. He's had many happy hours organising and taking part in races.
  • Firstly...... hope everyone had a lovely Christmas :xmassmile and in case I don't get back on here before then, wishing you all a very happy (and fab) New Year! :j

Just catching up on everyone's posts now; sugarbaby, I hope you enjoyed your time with Wayne as well as your family time, it sounds like you had everything planned very well! LL, it must have been a very difficult time for you with your dad's illness, but glad to hear that you are persevering with your paleo and that it's helping.

Mummy23, sorry to hear that you suffered with depression for so long; this thread is great for motivation and tips though, I look forward to hearing more about your fabbing from now on!

Oh indie, I completely understand where you were coming from with your ex. Even though you didn't want him back there's still part of you that's sad, isn't there? (By 'you' I mean I would be in your place too!). Are you sure he wasn't making more of a fuss about having a new girlfriend than he needed to - it seemed a bit unnecessary to drop that reference in? Either way, onwards and upwards, you are an amazing and very interesting person (with cool taste in music as well, of course!) and sooner or later will meet someone FAR nicer. The emotional eating is one of my habits too, I haven't been brave enough to get on the scales yet since Christmas but think that when I do, I'll be in need of some assistance for my 'fab by 40' plan!!

The Fitter Food website was really interesting, thanks for that too :) I agree about WW, I found it very tricky to follow unless I bought their treat bars/ meals. Have you joined the #walk1000miles group on Facebook? I have, and I think it would be your sort of thing too - you'd probably get to be a lot more active on it than me, I do walk 5+ miles per day but am sure most of that's just round the house! Also I'd suggest joining a dancing group to meet more men - and even if you don't, it's such a friendly environment! - if you don't fancy ceroc, perhaps try a ceilidh like this one, I've been and it's great fun:

Also in case you and chanie haven't seen these, TFL run loads of free cycling courses:

As for me, nothing new to report other than OH bought me absolutely nothing for Christmas :( he went on and on and on about how busy he was and how he didn't have time to get anything for me in town (internet? What internet?!) so I told him not to bother. He did offer to go shopping on Christmas Eve and buy me a new fitness watch which I was very tempted by, but by the time he'd had a lie in and then thrown a tantrum because he locked his phone up and took two hours to sort it out, the shops would have been heaving and he'd have been in an even worse mood, so I said no again. To be honest if he'd bought me anything and moaned about it ("I bought you this even though I'm very, very busy and I hate shopping and the shops were really busy" - etc) it would have taken all the joy out of it anyway..... then later he moaned about the cost of baby food, which made me think I'd made the right decision. I didn't want him to add the cost of my present to his list of moans!
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j

Ruby, he really has no idea about real life does he?! FWIW I think you chose your present well, as it came with no residual moaning! Did you hear anything about your plan for some of your redundancy money yet?

    Christmas wishes to you all!

LL, as you may remember, I am fibro and mostly paleo. I also had a lot of success with SW a few years ago (on red days). You can combine the two, the trickiest bit is the healthy extras as they tend to be grain and dairy based. There used to be a cashew nut option I think. SW don't try and sell you much - apart from the scanbran which isn't paleo friendly anyway.

I had some lovely fabbing stuff, including some nice oil for facial massage. I've been following a thing on youtube and think it has really reduced my bloating.

Ruby that's rather mean of your OH, but at least you don't have to put up with his moaning.

Hex pleased you have got some nice fabbing stuff for Xmas.

I've ordered a Weightwatchers pack. I really don't have the time or inclination to go to meetings, so I ordered a pack online, which should be arriving next week. I lost weight with WW years ago, but I think they have changed the points system since then, so I thought I'd better get up to date materials. I may join the WW board on here to keep myself motivated in lieu of meetings.

Sorry to hear your Christmas present tale ruby. Your DH doesn't seem to cope with life very well. He seems incredibly stressed and then takes it out on you. Is this a new thing?

There have been a number of changes to SW over the years and I'd advise anyone thinking of having a go at home to get a set of up to date books (easiest way is to attend one meeting). Red & Green plans don't officially exist any more but may old hands still use them. Healthy Extras aren't essential. What is essential is that you have sufficient fibre and calcium. There are still plenty of nut & seed options instead of bread or cereal and non-dairy milks. I don't know a lot about paleo but I think lean protein, fruit, veg is the basics and that fits perfectly. SW have recently introduced some ready meals (sold in Iceland) but they're just a quick option for people that want it. Very few of my SW friends rate them very highly.

Do you have a link to the facial massage on youtube hex? I have puffy eyelids lately or rather the bit above the eyelids so need to try something.

I'm still enjoying this break between the two festivities. We have football tonight (Thanks to MrMurdoch our Boxing Day game is on Wednesday evening:mad:) so wrapping up warm is called for.

Maman - I follow this one. My face was quite puffy but this has really helped.

maman enjoy the football. It's not too cold where I am, hopefully it's mild where you are, so you won't be freezing.

I've neglected my feet for ages and they look terrible. I used my micropedi and have now put on a treatment which will make my feet peel in a few days and I'll be walking around with feet resembling the zombie apocalypse.

I bought one of these with some of my Xmas money. I bought my mum one for Xmas and I wanted one for myself. You can use it as a clutch or to attach the strap to another bag to keep valuables safe.
