  • Hello everyone.

I had a straight 10 hour sleep last night, so feel much brighter today.

Just having a Lazy five minutes......I should be doing all sorts of things......but no its time for a rest first and a cuddle with the cat. The cat has insisted......he has plonked himself on my knee and I'm a prisoner.....;)

Indie.......Cuba is on my go to list too, but like you I want to be both slim and a proficient dancer before I go. I want to join some Latin American dance classes in the new year, but need to get a bit fitter first.

MAman......I have already decided to give slimming world a whirl in the new year. I am sure I can still work in my paleo way of eating but I think I need the regular weigh ins and encouragement and support that a class can give......plus it's a way of meeting new people.
    .

Glad to hear you had a good night's sleep and are sounding more positive. We will have to compare notes on the dancing in the new year.

I have just signed up for a online 16 week transformation plan with the company run by the nutritionist I have booked my 1-2-1 with. This is how they have described it, sounds good.

I have also booked myself on a day hike with one of the London based meet up groups at the end of January (turned out to be first weekend I had a day free for it!) Thought would be good to get to know some people round here to hike with - a lot of my hiking chums are spread around the country. Plus am hoping to find a slightly younger age group to hike with. That's not me being ageist - my friends range in age from 34-64 - but if I am ever to meet myself a nice guy my age to hike with, it seems likely it won't be through my social club as there are more women than men and the average age is probably 10 years my senior.

Have also posted on my local internet forum looking for bikes for sale. My commute to the office is getting slower and slower and there are more segregated cycle paths and support options for learning to cycle safely in the city so I think it would be a good way to get a bit more exercise and save some time. There's something called the bike train that meets at my local station and cycles into the city together and have spoken to the organiser about it. Am thinking if I can get used to riding a bike in the park then when it gets lighter in the evenings i can venture out on the commute. Our local council runs courses for people to get into cycling and they are free so I might as well take advantage of that. Am also told cycling is something where you will find more men than women so I might even find it has other benefits!

Doing a bit of fabbing at home today and getting my presents wrapped as not off home till Christmas Day morning. Remembered to fill the car up with petrol yesterday as have made the mistake of leaving it till Christmas or Boxing day and had problems finding somewhere to buy any. Also took the car to the car wash as Dad has been known to look at the state of it when I turn up and go out and wash it for me!

Have a great Christmas all x

Good afternoon fabbers, hope you all had a good Christmas.

Well, I have bought myself a second hand bike today and signed up for a 2 hour cycle confident course in my local park in a few weeks (was going to be on Friday morning but they rescheduled on me). Bit nervous, but cycling to work should free up an hour a day to spend on other things and burn calories / help me get fitter so it's worth trying to push past the fear.

I don't think I will start commuting till I can do the journey home in daylight, but if I leave the office on time, that could be by March. So a couple of months to potter round on cycle paths locally and maybe down by the seaside to get my confidence up and do some lessons and then take it from there.

I had to get on the scales this morning to put my weight on the questionnaire for the nutrition session I am having a week on Monday. I quite deliberately hadn't got near them for a while and am quite cross with myself as I have put back everything I lost over the last couple of years. Still, no point crying over spilled milk... I am going to try something different on the diet front and if I combine that with getting more active (e.g. dancing, biking) then I could still end up in a much better place by the end of 2017.

    Merry Xmas, Indie.

You've made me start to think about cycling. I have a bike in my shed which I've barely used. I'm thinking of getting it looked over and having some lessons. I don't think I'd cycle to work, but I could cycle to the shops on the day I don't work.

We had a nice chilled Xmas at home. The children enjoyed their presents. Our house was a tip, with toys and boxes everywhere and we've just managed to tidy up.

I got some money for Xmas and I'm going to buy a little clutch bag, but will put the rest away until I see something I really want. We did hit the sales today so Mr C could buy a few things - he knew what he wanted, so we were literally in and out of the shops

    Evening all!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas! I got lots of great fabbing gifts :)

Just a quick question if any of you know. I want to to use a cheap gradual tan like the dove or johnsons one. Just wondered if I put it on in the evening if it would mark my sheets orange? My sheets are pale cream and expensive so don't want to wreck them!

Looking forward to a new year of fabbing :)
