Ruby......how old are the babies now. Are they crawling, toddling.
I agree with everything Sugarbaby advised....
Let them sit at the table with you......put old towels or cloths on the floor:rotfl: and let them eat with you and learn from you. Yes it will be messy but it's the best way.
And definitely let them exercise with you. They love it, and you will notice they love music and dancing. They will love dancing with you.
Google babies dancing for a laugh..... ..
When mine were small we used to exercise to breakfast TV - the "Green Goddess" - A lady who wore a green leotard, and Mr Motivator. The boys loved it and it meant I did at least get a few minutes to do some exercises myself.
Do you have a tumble tots class near you. My boys loved going.
We would practice on the bed. I would show off to them that I could do forward rolls and headstands too. Wouldn't dare try now.......lol.
Shiny Things 1
Well I have bought myself some bright shiny things.....jewellery (belated birthday and early Christmas presents). My husband always bought me something bright and shiny so I keep up the tradition and say it's from him.:rotfl:
I have bought a copper silver coloured link necklace with magnets attached to the underside of each link. A pewter coloured copper bangle with magnets and a beautiful silver coloured copper bracelet set with swarvorski crystals, again with magnets on the underside.
I'm can't take conventional inflammatories or painkillers so I go down the complimentary therapies route. I have had success with copper in the past but have never tried magnetic therapy. I have been wearing them for a few days now and dare I say it, but the pain is easing.
Now I know some people say it's all a load of hippie nonsense but if it works for me that's all that counts in my books.
SHiny Things 2
Had my hair cut today and called in the chazza next door. Saw a pretty brooch. They were some stones missing but at 50p I wasnt too concerned because I intended cannibalising it anyway. I just assumed the stones were glass. Got it home and it turns out they are diamonds, only tiny but diamonds none the less.
I have some broken bits of mums jewellery that have diamonds missing so I think I'll take it all to a jewellers and see what we can come up with, maybe incorporate all the stones into a special piece. It would be a nice memorial piece from mum.
Sugarbaby. Sorry to hear you are struggling and in so much pain. Given your family history it must be such a worry for you. I think taking photos of your cyst is absolutely the right thing to do.
I did that when my birthmark became cancerous, it's the only way to track its progress and it means you can show the doctors - makes their job easier.
If it doesn't improve soon, please see a specialist asap.
I was very lucky in that my GP at the time had "skin" as his specialist interest. When I first went to the surgery he immediately got out a magnifying glass to take a good look and then wasted no time in referring me.
I don't wish to be alarmist but as you know I am a qualified beauty therapist so maybe I do tend to be overcautious. All I'm saying is don't be fobbed off. Stamp your feet if you have to but be quietly insistent.0 -
Quick post to say we had a good time at the cinema tonight seeing the Raymond Briggs film Ethel and Ernie. It's a memoir to his mum and dad but also a social history from the 30s to the 70s. All done in his cartoon style. I'd recommend it if that period is of interest to you.:)0

Sounds interesting maman - I've not been to the cinema in a while and we have one newly opened in our nearest town; I shall see if it's showing there.
Glad the pain is easing a bit LL - enjoy the new jewellery:)
Sugarbaby, indie, I'm glad you received positive news regarding your health. Hope work isn't causing you too much pain, sugar.
I pulled something in my lower back/hip at the weekend- the silliest thing; I was playing with the dog and felt a twinge - moving about has been so hard these past few days and it's been really painful but thankfully it's a bit easier today so I'm feeling a bit more human.
Trouble is; I've got lots to catch up on as I've literally only been able to take care of essential daily chores so I'll be busy indoors for the next few days.
I need to pop out at some point and get myself a warm padded coat for dog walking as my current one is becoming a little scruffy. The quilted or padded type coats are the only ones that really keep me warm outdoors.0 -
Hello Ladies.
I am still in a lot of pain with the cyst on my back even though I have been on antibiotics since Monday. The cyst was weeping smelly blood streaked pus yesterday, so I could not go to work. I wish the cyst would just improve and heal. I look forward to the day when I am pain free again and can be as active as I want to be. The antibiotics are giving me the most severe indigestion which is not pleasant.
LL, Ellsbel and any other lady not enjoying the best of health at the moment, rest, relax and take care of yourself. Good health is invaluable.0 -
Rubyslippers77 wrote: »We had bedbugs a couple of years ago indie and what a pain they were!! Ours were brought in by the lodger's daughter; she stayed with him every other weekend and her mum never treated them at their home, so she just kept bringing them back
we had to have the rooms treated, move the drawers from under the bed into the loft for over a year, and wash everything from the wardrobes at 60 degrees. We also clingfilmed the base of the bed, if that's something you could try!
I've had the room treated 4 times now and so far not seen any more since the last treatment a week and a half ago. Fortunately am no longer with the boyfriend whose flat had an infestation that he didn't bother treating properly as he doesn't react to the bites, so that should prevent it being re-infested - if indeed we have got rid of them now.
I am going to keep the under bed clear - it's a iron bed with wooden frame and I used to store things underneath but having decluttered a bit before treatment the plan is to keep clear so in the event of any more crawling out it will be easier to get to them. I know a lot of people recommend encasing the base, but I suspect that's easier on divans than metal frames. I will be getting all the linen that's been on the bed that I keep (not sure all the bloodstains will come out, so some might get binned) washed at higher temperatures and possibly taken to the launderette to get tumble dried as that's meant to help kill them.
All my clothes have been bagged up for weeks - just unpacking now. Pest control said providing they were shook before bagging they should be fine - they weren't kept in under bed storage anyway and all the drawers and wardrobes have been treated in case they were hiding in the corners. However, the evidence was very much they were hiding between the mattress and the wooden flats as the mattress was stained on the underside as were some slats but we haven't seen the staining elsewhere. I have a bed bug protector over the mattress, so hopefully if there were any tiny ones clinging to the underside they will die off when they can't get out.
Am having a morning at home sorting out some of the clothes and refilling drawers / wardrobe before packing for my last hiking trip away of the year and heading out of London before rush hour gets going. We're off to Worthing and it should be a great trip as lots of my friends are going and the hotel looks like one of the nicer ones we will have stayed at. Just got to find my warm weather gear - my last trip was reasonably warm and the previous one I was in shorts and sun hat. This one will need my warm trousers, fleeces, hat and gloves I think - though forecast suggests that at least the waterproofs might stay in the backpack for the weekend (I don't tend to go out without them).
Sugarbaby sorry to hear you are still in so much pain, hope the antibiotics start working soon or they can find something more effective if not.
Ellsbel hope your back/hip continues to improve and good luck with the coat shopping. I love my padded coats - I have a short brown jacket from Hobbs which I tend to use when going to the pub for the evening and a knee length dark green per una one with a hood which gets used when I will be outside for longer. Going to take that one this weekend for the firework display on the pier on Saturday.
LL Hope your physio is starting to have more of an effect now.
Have a good weekend all x0 -
I think indie's right sugarbaby. I know you are keeping an eye on the infection but if it doesn't clear up soon then you must go back to the GP even if it's just for reassurance. The last two infections (one 5 years ago and one this summer) I've had didn't respond to the first course of antibiotics and I had to go back.
Have a good weekend indie. It's pouring with rain on the south coast at the moment so hopefully you'll drive it away.:D We're heading to Chichester in an hour to run an errand so would like the rain to stop.
I have two 'casual' coats ellsbel. One is a short, quilted Craghoppers black jacket in a sort of biker style with a belt and lots of pockets. It's waterproof and windproof but surprisingly doesn't have a hood?? The other is a navy Puffa parka which is warm and longer than the other one but only showerproof. Both came from TKMaxx so were much cheaper than full price. I'd recommend you look in there, they generally have a good selection.
I am doing fab Friday but in a very low key way. DH 'won' a very nice map chest (similar to a chest of drawers) on ebay so we're going to fetch it. As it's pouring with rain and I'm probably going to have to help him carry it I won't be doing too glamorous. I didn't bother to wash my hair as I know it reacts badly to any dampness in the air so I'll do it later instead. So dark denim jeans, red long sleeved top, navy short cardy with my navy parka. I'll probably wear my Skechers mary janes as well as they're comfortable. Will wear a light make up just to look as if I've made an effort.:)0 -
Good morning lovely ladies.
Brrr. Winter is here.:rotfl: time for what the Scandanavjans call "hygge". I've even started wearing proper coats, rather than my coatigans and big cardigans.
At least my new car has a good heater......:rotfl:
Well I've had a little spending spree this week. As well as the jewellery I also hit the charity shops and bought myself and DS2 some sweaters and cardigans, then I popped into Saiinsburys and bought a couple more for half price. So I'm well stocked up for knitwear now.
Glad to say both my leg and my shoulder are much improved now thanks to a regime of magnesium baths, pain relieving gels, wheatpacks, and stretching exercise three or 4 times times a day.
It's all very time consuming, especially the exercises 3 x 20 minute sessions but it's working.
Still househunting - saw one yesterday. Cute but very expensive and a bit on small side. I know I said I want to downsize but it's not as easy as it sounds......:rotfl:
I'll just keep looking.
Hope you all have a fab weekend.0 -
Hello Ladies,
I am pleased to say that my cyst is almost fully drained of that awful smelling pus. It poured out of the cyst yesterday and soaked my home made cotton pad I had pinned to the inside of my t-shirt. It felt as if someone had poured cold water on my back. It continues to drain more slowly today and now the cyst is not anywhere as painful. It looks as if I am on my way to it being healed.
I did see the same Doctor I saw on Monday again yesterday. She has given me another week of antibiotics and painkillers. She also signed me off work until next Friday.
I will return to work as soon as the cyst is healed, hopefully before Friday.
This illness has reminded me once again that the only thing I can rely on Wayne for is to be a disappointment of a man.He did not bother to care too much that I was in so much pain and so I will not be bothering to resume our relationship after all, as I see no point in him repeating the same mistakes of our previous relationship.
Christmas is fast approaching and once this cyst is fully healed I can get on with the task of getting all the Christmas presents I have bought throughout the year wrapped and labelled. I also have to wrap the birthday presents for my older daughter and son as they have December birthdays on the 10th and 14th. December is always a time of celebration and also remembrance as my Mum passed away in December. I still miss celebrating Christmas with my Mum.
I am also looking forward to celebrating the New Year and making sure I enter 2017 with clear personal goals for myself.0 -
Good evening ladies,
I have managed to catch up with post of the posts since my last visit
Sending hugs to all that are/ have been feeling poorly, wish you a, speedy recovery.
Nice positive posts also, I wish I could grab a CS bargain like some of you do, I'm useless :rotfl:
Weather here is chilly today, sitting in front of a roaring fire feeling sleepy ( bad night ) so I'm off to find something to keep me awake until bedtime.
Have a good evening.

Well, it looks like my life as a laydee of leisure is coming to an end...some of you may know that one of my hobbies is baking & cake decorating, and I've been offered an opportunity to work in the kitchen of a local eating pub which has an excellent reputation for its desserts & cakes. It's a big departure from my professional life as a senior PA but somethings are too good to pass up on, so at 9am tomorrow I will be up to my elbows in sugar & eggs!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
