Thanks so much for the info. on valances LL. I had no idea they made plain, tailored ones. As soon as we make a decision on the bed/bedroom I'll go to Dunelm or order from Amazon. I must have a proper look in my underbed drawers. I know one side has rolls of wrapping paper but can't remember what's the other side. If I can't remember then it can't be anything I really need!

I think you and sugarbaby are wise to hang on to clothes you love and work until you fit into them. I'm so pleased I kept my silk shifts, my black velvet coat and the silky pleated skirt from years ago.

I put on a couple of pounds this week:eek:. More accurately I've put them on since I last weighed 7 weeks ago. It's because of all the birthday meals and socialising that went on in September so it's not as if I don't know why. So this week I'm going to be very strict with myself and stick to healthy eating 100%.

I had a make up session with Clarins yesterday. This was a follow up to the skincare one I had a month ago. Although I asked for a light make up I'm afraid it was still too heavy for my liking. I learned a lot about application but I think it's foundation I don't like. I'm happier with tinted moisturiser or a bit of bronzer to give me colour. I'm very happy using up the skin care products though and I bought (no pressure) a serum as well.

I'll be doing Fab Friday. We're off to a local theatre tonight. I'll probably wear the straight black trousers with a bright top and maybe heels as I won't need to walk any distance. And I'll do my version of light make up! And I've resolved no wine or ice cream in the interval.:D

    Morning ladies.
One of the reasons we've not got round to tackling our bedroom redecorating yet is due the "problem" of what to do about the bed. We have a divan, with a big, decorative surround but I want to change for something more simple. I no longer use a valance but don't like the look of the bed without one; I'd like underbed space to store things in my own, pretty storage boxes that can be tucked under and kept out of sight.
The problem is, the current bed is so big and heavy - especially the mattress, that I don't know how we'll manage to haul it out and dispose of it!
Sorry about the bungalow, LL; keep looking - there's a place out there somewhere with your name on it.
I went to SW yesterday after weighing myself this week for the first time in ages and getting an horrific shock:( - I'm keeping off the sugar but I need to follow a plan and stop making excuses; I'm quite angry with myself actually but there we go.
I feel a bit bad about it, but now I've got the books I'll probably follow the plan at home as I found the meeting a little shambolic; not the leaders' fault - the group was absolutely huge and so everything overran and there were lots of individual chats going on whilst she went around the group discussing the losses and gains.
But I will keep to it - I honestly never want to see that number on the scale again:eek:
Fab Friday will be spent ferrying DS2 to and from school as he has only has one lesson today, grocery shopping and ironing - but I will be doing it in smart jeans and jumper, make up and scent :)

ETA - we cross posted, Maman, but that gain is not bad going over that period of time, and I really admire your control; I'm very much a comfort eater and I do find it hard to exercise discipline at times, unfortunately. Enjoy the theatre:)

    Thanks ellsbel.

I try not to go on too much about SW on here:o but unfortunately your experience of a SW group is very common. The consultants just follow a sort of script and often don't have the skills to manage the group and it's incredibly formulaic.

It's very possible to do it on your own at home using the books and Google for recipes. The only thing you won't have is access to the website.

You'd be very welcome to join the SW thread or just lurk if you prefer. Plenty of support on there, ask any questions you like and they're a very friendly group.

    happy Fab Friday

ellsbel I didn't like SW purely because of the meetings. The Leader just read everyone's losses from a handheld devise and then it was over!!!

maman it's so annoying when make up staff in shops plaster on the make up. Still, at least you learned some good techniques.

ll I saw those valences with the pleats online and thought they looked quite nice and I may consider getting one when we buy our new bed.

I had a fab Friday today, as I was visiting a work colleague was is on maternity leave. I wore skinny blue jeans, a black linen top, tan ankle boots and my new grey quilted jacket. My colleague said I looked nice, which is a great compliment as she is very much into fabbing. I was thinking of wearing my denim dress, but it's a good thing I didn't as my colleague was wearing a similar one!!!!

We don't have any plans for this weekend, but we are thinking of having a wander to Buckingham Palace. DS keeps talking about The Queen and I thought it would be nice to show him where she lives, although I think hes expecting her to come out and talk to him.

The outfit you wore yesterday sounds very chic and "on point" as they say, Chanie:) Hope you enjoy your trip to Buck House and that DS isn't too disappointed if the Queen doesn't invite you in for a cuppa! ;)
I'm afraid I'm having a PJ day today:o I'm full of cold and was awake for most of the night - DS1, who is 20, was out clubbing and I can't sleep until everyone's safely in!!:o - which in this case was at 4.30 am:eek::eek: - The joys of having adult children :D
The three guys have gone off to footie and I've had a bath, put on clean PJs, and am curled up on the sofa with the dog, a book, and one eye on the football scores:)
I'm keeping to the weight loss plan though and despite the cold I'm avoiding my usual "comfort" treats; I know it's only a couple of days in but I'm finding it quite easy to follow and to fit around the family.
I need a new mascara so might have a browse online for one in a bit, also I'm thinking of trying a bb cream; I've not bothered with foundation for a while now - I'm another who can't seem to get on with it - but I need a bit of a boost in the colder weather, and tinted moisturiser always feels a bit sticky on my skin for some reason.
    Have a good weekend everyone.

Another one having PJ days because of a cold:(, a day and a half in fact, but this afternoon felt a little brighter so a cake is in the oven and everything weighed out for a batch of muffins. A quick raid of T3sco for some fresh food and a ready made pizza for tea.

I have watched a couple of presentations of the QVC Tarte tsv, I love their eyeshadow palettes, but managed to talk myself out of it. I probably need to buy a new food processor and the tsv with postage would have been about 1/5th of the amount I need to spend, and let's face it I don't NEED anything in there:D

Love reading about everyone's redecoration, choice of outfits and weight loss. OH and I have been away from home a lot and access to the internet has been dire, pretty much caught up at last now.:D:D:D

I do like supporting my fellows on this thread in their weight loss, even when I am currently ill, verging on being underweight and struggling to keep any weight gained on!!!!!

Yummy pizza served with a mountain of healthy mixed salad. The baking will be portioned and frozen as calorie replacement and a treat for my fit and healthy mid 70's OH who cycles 3 times a week and clocks up minimum of 5,000 miles per year:D
