Had DS1 and DIL. round for dinner last night.......they were mucho Impressed with my little house.

One of DS1s best mates works for the planning dept. When he heard I was househunting he told me to check out the area. When DS2 saw my choice he burst out laughing. He said ....."that is so you...it's going to be really cool and hip, you'll love living there"

APparently his mate has directed me to our city's next "hot spot" :rotfl:

Looks like you're never too old to join the "jet set". :rotfl:

DIL said "ooh granny distance", ie close enough to them for me to be "granny on tap" cheeky madam.......lol.

Actually our three houses will all be within minutes of each other.

llI'm pleased you finally got your property. My fingers are crossed for you. I'll be looking forward to seeing the pictures - I love having a nosey around other people's homes!!!
On a slightly separate note, i had a stain removal failure. Dd spilt something on a dress whilst on holiday - I washed it twice, sprayed it with vanish then washed, then sprayed with vanish, extra stain remover plus stain remover cycle in the washing machine and it still won't come out. In the end, I got rid of it. Luckily it was a cheapy h&m cotton dress, so I'm not upset about it, but annoyed that my efforts failed.

LL so pleased for you that you have found the house of your dreams. I wish you a speedy problem free completion.

Thank you to any ladies that said congratulations to my son Marcus. He loves his new laptop. He has a place at the Sixth Form for his Academy for early September to do 4 A levels.

Hope you all had a good BH weekend.
We spent a couple of days at the coast in my favourite place to go, and had a nice time. Did a long (2 hour!) walk along the coastal path and it was glorious:) definitely going to factor in more walking now that I'm back.
It's our wedding anniversary today and OH wanted to take me somewhere fancy, but I've never really been one for too much fuss, so we've settled instead for a trip into London and some sightseeing - though he's insisting on at least taking me for a cocktail somewhere at some point:D
Off to get dressed in a bit and we'll set off.
Food has been a bit hit and miss these past few days and I feel really impatient now to start dropping the pounds so I'll be cracking down from tomorrow in earnest.
    Have a good day all:)

Not much news here. Ive done all I can re the house purchase for the moment. These things rumble on at their own speed.

I've had two physio sessions, Monday and Tuesday so feel rather drained today. Might have to have a siesta in a bit. :rotfl:

Am just having a catch up with paperwork and some phone calls but other than that just having a quiet day.

Just going to pop, down to the little shop to stretch my legs.

    Have a good day.

Happy Anniversary ellsbel. I do hope you're having a great day. I'm afraid if my day yesterday is anything to go by a day in London isn't the time to start eating healthily!;)

I had a great time with my friend visiting Buckingham Palace yesterday. The Queen's wardrobe was interesting especially the coronation dress which was stunning. Her other clothes really presented a 'fashion through the ages' story too. Although a bit on the frumpy side for my tastes the Queen hasn't really been part of the 'clothes horse' PR of royalty that's happened recently. As well as the exhibition you get to see some of the other state rooms, some of the art collection and the garden. Tickets are around £20 and you can get them stamped to use as an annual pass. It would mean I could visit again in the early part of next season so well worth it.

We finished there mid afternoon (probably took 3 hours) and then we went to the Courthouse Hotel which is just off Regent Street. The hotel is the old Marlborough Street magistrates court building and many of the original features are still there. It's in such a convenient spot and late afternoon was like an oasis of cool calm. We shared a bottle of wine and had posh sandwiches and sides of chips!:D The staff were really pleasant and when I asked for large glasses of water when we arrived we got pints:eek: with ice and slice.

Then I walked and walked (one of my favourite things to do in London) stopping for the occasional coffee before getting my train. I decided to wear my navy silk shift dress as weather was so hot and I'm glad I did. I'd worn my new fit flops all day Monday (including at home) to make sure they were comfortable and they were fine too.

That's been all about me:o. Hope everyone else is OK even if it is visiting physio and going to the dentist!:( My back's been playing up a bit lately but I'm not sure whether to just take pain killers and muscle relaxants as and when or whether I should ask GP. I'm not asking for medical advice:money: but LL how did you decide that you needed physio?

Just pottering today and catching up with a few calls and things. It's a bit overcast here but otherwise dry and warm. Have a good day all.:)

Maman.......I've had back pain off and on most of my adult life.

It's been something of a saga.

The first really incapacitating episode resulted in an injection. That put things right for several years. I could manage well enough.

Fast forward 10 years and two pregnancies and the back pain came back with a vengeance. I eventually had an x Ray. Turned out I had fractures that had healed themselves but in such a way that they were causing problems.. They dated back to my early teens. They asked me what had happened . The only thing I can put it down to was I had a riding accident when I was 13. They agreed that that Was probably the original starting point. I was offered surgery but told it had only a 50 per cent succes rate but that if it went wrong I could end up in a wheelchair.

Needless to say I declined so the Physio began.

Over the years I had two car crashes and more Physio, acupuncture, and the chiropractor. Then of course there were the years of caring for my husband, the heavy lifting etc. I found regular Physio was the only thing that kept me going.

After this last car crash I sensed there was a lot more damage this time. I had to change my physiotherapist to one who is more local because of transport issues. She decided it was time I had more x Ray's so she could see what she was dealing with. . They showed a 21 per cent misalignment of my shoulders and hips and a 13 degree tilt of my head towards the left.

So now it's normal Physio - deep tissue massage and intensive stretching once a week to lengthen the muscles and massage the knots away and then once a week chiro and manipulation to realign everything back into place. So it's a two pronged treatment. She reckons around 10 weeks of intensive treatments and then hopefully just maintenance.

The x Ray's couldn't show Whether the misalignment was due to the car crash or Whether it was a long term issue.

NHS provision is very poor here so I just pay privately. TBH it's worth every penny.. I'm hoping this intensive bout will be covered by my car insurance if not then I'll just foot the bill myself.

It's the only thing that really works for me. I'm not prepared to go under the knife when the odds are so poor.

ellsbel happy anniversary to you both.

maman your day in London sounds fab. I had a spa day at the Courtyard hotel last year, it's lovely in there.

ll I hope your physio helps. I agree with not having the operation, I'd do the same in your situation.

I've been wearing my summer dresses for the past few days - I wanted to get some use out of them before the weather changes.

We are now preparing to get ready for the new school year. I try and buy the children's uniform well in advance, so I can avoid the last minute rush. I have a couple of things left to get, which I will do on Friday, when I'm off.
