My turn to have a sleepless night last night, carmen! Our poor dog was grumbling and fidgety in the heat, so at 1.30 I ended up going downstairs to him and putting the fan on so he could lie in front of it:D
I tried to doze on the sofa from then on, but not very successfully! Maybe I'll have a nap later; it doesn't matter too much as I've no major plans for today - just a potter in the garden which I can do at my own pace.
Have a good day all and stay cool!:)

Another lovely day. Just going to put out the first load of washing then hand wash some knitwear ready for Autumn/winter.

The ottoman has arrived and I have now sorted out all my linens and towels, freeing up space in my wardrobe and chest of drawers. Have made a start sorting out my clothes and having a little purge.

I took a dress to the cleaners but they couldn't remove the stain. Given that The dress is ruined I thought I might try to treat the stain myself and then hand wash it and let it drip dry so today is a good day. It would be nice if I could rescue it.

A walk to the shops before it gets too hot and then just potter about and enjoy the weather. I think rain is forecast here for tomorrow so need to make the most of all this lovely sunshine.

Another gorgeous day here too and like you ellsbel nothing more planned than a bit of gardening.

LL, I have two silk dresses that I kept from before I lost/put on weight. I've more than had my moneysworth from them over the years so now I always handwash them and they come up just fine. Similarly my custom made John Lewis sitting room curtains which would have been so expensive to dry clean (two pairs and heavy). I just vacuumed them and sprayed with Febreze for a while and then finally decided to take the plunge (or rather they did:D) and wash them. I did those in a cold machine wash and all was well.

The weekly bulletin from the fashion pages of my newspaper says shirts are in for the autumn! These are man sized long shirts mainly worn as a layer although timeless silk shirts will be around and also shirt dresses. I'm starting to write a list (with ideas from newspapers and catalogues) of suggested fashion trends or just things I like the look of for the autumn. I can't wear white shirts as I'm too pale in the winter and when I have some colour in the summer I don't need a shirt! Things on my list will be what is fashionable but suits me or gaps in my wardrobe. Definitely need to do some MK to check what I have first.

I agree MK needs to be ongoing but I will say that everything I've done has stayed done. I'm delighted with my drawers of tops, jumpers, underwear, scarves and DH has co-operated keeping the hall drawer of gloves, woolly scarves, hats, small umbrellas etc. very neat. Same is true of kitchen cupboards of dry goods etc. What I mainly need to tackle is photos. When I was tidying I have, at least, moved them all to one place now I need to make some sense of them. Some are in albums, some in boxes and some just stuffed in envelopes.:o

Have a good day all and hope those of you lacking sleep take it very easy.:)

ETA: the dresses were before I put on weight so now they fit me again!

    Hello Ladies,

I went on a date with Wayne last night to my local pub. Wayne agreed with me that it made more sense for us to eat in our own homes and then meet in my local. My money saving ways are beginning to rub off on him slowly. It was really warm in the pub, but I had a hand fan with me so I was able to keep cool. :)

We did a lot of talking, so we are continuing to get to know each other better. I was finally able to give Wayne his birthday presents and he was so happy, I realised he was full of glee. It was great to see his reaction to each of the presents. (Wayne was working on his birthday, so we had to postpone me giving him his presents). Wayne was very complimentary, which was a lovely ego boost for me as I was feeling really fat yesterday. :)

I wore a red sleeveless top, a black pull on skirt and my patent leather black Van Dal sling back shoes with the gold cutouts, solid gold jewellery and lots of perfume. I was carrying my red patent leather Osprey handbag.

I am really glad it is sunny again but I wish I was not working in this heat. I have to take a spare t-shirt with me every day to change into, as cleaning in this heat makes me sweat. The heat is also affecting how long I am able to sleep, so I am sleep deprived at the moment. My son had to wake me up today and all I wanted to do is go back to sleep.

Sugarbaby - It does seem a little cooler tonight so hopefully sleep will be easier.

We had few spots of rain, but nothing to get excited about.

Well the good news is, the dress washed beautifully , no shrinkage or colour fading and the stain has washed out - great result. :D

Physio tonight so feel quite drained.

ll pleased your dress washed well.

sugar glad Wayne liked his presents and that things are going well for you both.

maman I had a similar idea to you about making a note of what will be 'in' the following season. To add to your list, tribal prints are supposed to be big. I noticed spotty patterns in a couple of shops, plus matching tops and bottoms that look like Pjs, although I'm not brave enough for that look.

Today, I took the day off work and went to Westfield. I bought some new black jeans, as my last pair had holes in them. I finally bought the foundation today. The counter lady was adamant that I was better suited to the darker shade, so I went for that.

Hello Ladies my 16 year old son Marcus got his GCSE results today and I am over the moon :D

Marcus has passed all of his 11 GCSE's!!!!

I am so very proud of his achievement. There are not enough superlatives that I could use to adequately describe how I feel about my bright, intelligent, hard working, caring, kind, good looking son.

Marcus is a truly unique individual and I am thankful that God has blessed me with such a special son. :)

    Core Science Grade A
    Additional Science Grade A
    Further Additional Science Grade B

    English Literature Grade A
    Mathematics Grade A*
    Religious Studies Grade A*

As promised he has got £100 for each A*, £90 for each A, £70 for each B and £50 for the C, making a total of £940 from me. I had £1,100 saved just in case, but I am so proud that all of his hard work with his GCSE coursework and his hours and hours of intervention and revision have worked it's magic for Marcus.
