LL, it sounds like you had a great break (trains aside!) and have enjoyed yourself since your return with a spot of well deserved pampering :) great bargain spotting too with the winter coats!

I haven't been to SW for ages maman, too many other costs to take into account, but I agree that it's now much easier than WW - or I found it that way, at least. Couldn't get my head round the new WW points at all whereas SW you get a good basic range of foods for 'free' and an allowance for treats. Either way I hope you find a suitable diet plan chanie, with a good group leader if you decide to go along; my local lady was nice enough but not exactly inspirational.

Sugarbaby, what an amazing time you're having with these cinema trips! I went to one at a posh hotel in Covent Garden last year, such lovely seats and the same cost as our local cinema if you booked in advance (although of course we had the cost of travelling into London too). Our local cinema is around £10 per ticket now just for a 'normal' seat, crazy.

Not much to report from me, I still haven't heard back about my housing options, the 5 working days I was quoted are officially up tomorrow though..... haven't discussed OH's outburst with him yet until I know what I might be entitled to. I asked MIL to look after the boys one morning this week so I could visit the CAB/ a family solicitor (not that I told her that!), however apparently it takes her and FIL five days to get ready for a caravan holiday 50 miles away, they were too busy to do it :(

OH has gone from screaming at me to leave, to asking if I wanted a new car?! I feel very confused, but exhausted more than anything, from worrying about what he said to constant looking after lively babies, and never getting a proper night's sleep as I'm always on baby duty and most nights end up sleeping on the nursery floor to escape from OH's snoring. It's at the point now where I really ache and my back hurts, but if I say anything to OH he starts going on about his bad neck from a car accident years back. I've realised that he's quite a controlling person - keeps telling me I have to go back to work because I have no money and can't afford a nursery, so the boys will have to go to his mum's - it doesn't matter if I don't want to work full time and/ or a nursery would be good for them, it's what he wants that counts.

Anyhow I am biding my time until I know my rights - and how much money I might be entitled to! - and then we will have a 'discussion'. In the meantime, thank you for all the hugs, they are much appreciated :D

Quite spooky ruby as I was just thinking about you a few minutes ago.

I know it's none of my business but I really don't like the sound of the way your OH is messing /bossing you about. I'm sure you must be exhausted but I really would urge you to find out your rights ASAP.

Is there any way you could get hold of a futon or something for the nursery? Have you even got sofa or sunbed cushions you could sleep on?

    Keep in touch. :A

Ruby, take the boys with you to the CAB, you won't be the first mum to do that, and chase up the housing people if you get a chance. Big hug hun xx

No more gardening for me today. Really feeling the muscles in my back and legs. The plus side is it's telling me I'm getting better and needed the exercise. No way would I have had the energy to do that a month ago.

Washed my hair for the first time today since going to the salon on Monday. The blow dry isn't quite up to hairdresser's standards but so much better now it has a good shape.

I'm doing well using things up this week. I've finished a bottle of body lotion and a shampoo so the stockpile in the bathroom is going down, face wash soon to follow. Unfortunately I've also finished my Benefit moisturiser so had to use Aldi on my face for the first time in months since I got the allergic, streaming eyes reaction. I'm being very careful to keep it away from my eyes (have separate eye cream for that) and all OK at the moment. I'll have to make a special trip into the city centre for Benefit so I'll wait until we get a dull day.

Not much going on here today but the sun's shining so I'm happy.:D

    Hello Ladies,

Maman I am back at work. Had to return on Monday. I am doing the 'deep clean' so no students getting in my way. It is great that you are slowly getting better.

LL I am happy for you that you had a good trip and a flattering haircut. I hope you enjoy wearing both of your new coats when the cold weather arrives.

Carmen, my daughter gave the film Nerve a 7 out of 10 and my son a 6. Neither of them enjoyed it as much as I did even though the subject matter is more for their generation

Ruby if the offer of a new car was a genuine offer from your OH and you would own the car outright, then accept your OH's over the top peace offering.

Invest in earplugs and hopefully you could then sleep in your bed. If not then you really need to get a fold up bed or sofa bed for the Nursery.

Your OH still sounds as if he is in a tailspin and panicked about the future. The financial worries seem to be overwhelming him and he is taking everything out on you. If you could ever get him to sit down and really talk to you, I think you would be shocked to find that he certainly does not want you to leave him, in fact he is so fearful of you doing exactly that, he is driving you away, because of his excessive fear.

I know that you may disagree with me, but my ex husband was not an easy man to live with, but when we eventually went to Relate, he finally opened up and told the truth about how he was really feeling, especially about our constant money problems and how heavy they weighed on him. Even though we were only in our late 20' at the time, he was overwhelmed by his responsibilities as a husband and father to our 2 children. We arrived at Relate not even looking at each other and not wanting to be in the same room as each other, yet weeks later after much honest talking we were a happy couple again. We did eventually divorce after 8 years of Marriage and 2 years of separation.

Hello ladies. Is it ok if I jump in again?:) starting from square one!
I've been catching up on posts and glad you're all well.
I just want to say - **ruby**, I hope you can quickly find a way forward for yourself. I'm sorry to speak out of turn, but it isn't fair of your OH to place you, and his children, in a position where you feel you have no security in terms of a roof over your head, and then, seemingly, to use this as a tool to close down any discussion he doesn't want to have, by telling you to get out of "his" house.
Please do find out what your rights are.
Sending "hugs" and forgive me for being rude.

As for me - I'm ready to start again, I've a list and all! More of that tomorrow.

    Good evening ladies,
Interesting post Sugar, there was a three parter(is that a word?) about Relate on TV recently. If people are not prepared to compromise then one falls at the first hurdle :( I watched the trailer of Nerve and I think my inner child was released ;)
Ellbel, welcome back on the wagon to fabdom, it's the first step:)
Maman, gardening can be back breaking, have a nice soak to easy the muscles.

I had a funny old day today. Popped to the shop to get my fussy cats some fish and picked up lots of salad and fruit.
I then spent many hours on the computer arranging travel plans and accommodation for a funeral next month, then spent what seemed like hours on the phone, I am mentally exhausted!

    Goodnight ladies

    Carmen x

    Thanks Carmen:)
So my list of goals is quite extensive and I don't want to overwhelm myself; I'm tackling two at a time!
First and foremost is weight loss - doing this will be the key to a new me. I've whittled off another few pounds since I was last posting but I need to keep focussed. I've a few trips and days out planned over the next two weeks, so the aim is to make healthy choices wherever possible and once those are out of the way, I'll be joining you LL in doing the 5:2 plan:)
The other goal I'm working on is upping my efforts to find a part time job; nothing fancy - just something to put some structure into my week and give me a little self confidence.
I'm painfully aware that I've left it a bit too long and I've used being a "housewife" as a bit of a security blanket; i certainly don't want to find myself again in something that I loathe and dread, but there must be something out there for me! Currently I'm looking at a variety of courses - all in different fields - the plan being to gain some marketable skills OR train in something I can do for myself. Thoughts on how old is TOO old are very welcome:D
Fab Friday - normal errands and chores but wearing smart black jeans, black gingham shirt, ballet flats, minimal make up and scent.
    Have a good day all.

Good to see you back ellsbel:). I think your plan for getting a job is a good one. I know you didn't enjoy your previous one but you did seem more focused when you had that structure. I could bore for England on the benefits of weightloss but suffice to say that it's improved my confidence hugely. I loathed being fat.:(Probably the worst thing was that although I could camouflage it a bit with the right clothes I was disappointed in myself for the lack of control and 'letting myself go'. :o

I will be doing Fab Friday. I've got the usual shopping but tonight we're going to the pub to watch football. We'll have a meal there too. I generally go for steak and salad but I do allow myself a portion of chips:D.

I'll probably wear something similar to last Saturday so team colours of red/white/black: black jeans, white top, soft red scarf and black ballet pumps. I will wear light make up (mascara, eyebrow pencil and lippy) plus perfume.

I seem to be focused on a relatively small number of outfits that please me at the moment. I think that's a result of MK rather than being short of clothes. However there's loads of stuff in my wardrobe that I never wear so more MK is needed. I think what I'll do is wait until the autumn and then cull any summer clothes that haven't seen the light of day either home or abroad. Then I'll take a look at my heavier clothes and decide what to do about them.

My back is fine today Carmen so it really was just stiffness in rarely used muscles. No gardening today though as weather has broken and it's been raining.:( I think the sun may be back next week though. Shame you had to make all that effort for something as sad as a funeral. I want to plan a short break for the autumn. We had such a great time in Malta last October. I need inspiration as I'd like a sunny break but for sightseeing rather than the beach. Will have to pin DH down to some dates first.

Hope everyone's having a good day whatever you're up to.:)

Maman I can recommend either Porto or Lisbon - plenty to see, plenty walking if you want & trams if you don't, and plenty of lovely food :D

Hi everyone. I haven't commented for ages, but have managed to keep up with posts (just) so apologies for not commenting to individuals, except to say to Ruby that I too am rooting for you and agree that you should check out your legal and financial position.

Briefly, I have been trying to keep up with the fabbing, some days I have not been well enough to leave the house and have merely been clean and tidy:eek:

My self infusion of the antibody replacement has reached 9 weeks and although there are some days that it is harder to push those needles into my tum, I have not ducked out yet:D I am 3 weeks into taking some horribly expensive pro biotics which were recommended by several people on my Pernicious Anaemia support group site for treatment of IBS, it has been a case of get worse before getting better, but I am very pleased with the results so far:D

Although it is baby steps I do believe that I have a teeny bit more energy, so fingers crossed.

I have Kondoed more of my too large clothes to the CS (and have replaced them with lots of joyful ones, need to stop buying now and have a very short mental list of items that I will allow myself to buy:D I also treated myself to some new make up, which I could have managed without, but I am enjoying it and the feeling of increased self confidence looking better has given me.

    Wishing everyone a great weekend:D
