I went out today with a friend (something I never do) so although it was a casual thing, I made an effort wore skinning jeans, nice jumper and my heals boots... did my hair and make up, felt really good... first Fab Friday of many :)

    Hello Ladies,

I went to see the film Nerve with my daughter and son yesterday using 3 of my free Cineworld tickets from the Tesco promotion. :T I absolutely loved the film and would score it a 9.5 out of 10. My daughter only a 7 and my son a 6. ;)

I wore a red sleeveless v neck top with one of my pull on panelled black skirts and my red patent leather Van Dal sling backs that has the look of crocodile skin. I had clear nail polish on and lots of perfume, but no make up.

Chanie Wayne and I are both trying harder to see the relationship from the other person's point of view and are hoping that we will continue to understand each other better. I chose to take a huge leap of faith with Wayne, because despite all of the ups and downs so far we seem well matched and really like each other and we really enjoy being with each other.

It really is worth the effort matody. I'm pleased you had an outing with your friend too.

Something keeps pulling you and Wayne back together sugarbaby so it's got to be worth giving it a go. You sound happy.:)

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and although DH initially forgot:mad:, once he was reminded we had a lovely day. Although we usually have a day out we needed to work it round the first home game of the season. Team only managed a draw but we had a snacky lunch in a nice coffee shop, then the match, then a couple of drinks in the sunshine at a waterfront bar then a delicious Italian meal. I know 'date nights' can sound quite cheesy but DH and I definitely talk to each other more when we're on our own and out of the house.

I'd have dressed up a bit more if we'd gone straight to the bar/restaurant from home but smart casual worked. I wore black skinny jeans, white Jack Wills tee shirt, a floaty red scarf with little white stars on it and black ballet pumps (gesture to team colours).

Today we're going to an outdoor music event with a hog roast involved. It'll be smart casual again but I'm waiting to see how warm it gets before making a decision. Hope you're all having a good day.:)

maman happy anniversary to you and your DH, what a perfect way to spend the day.

sugar I'm pleased things seems good with you and Wayne. Its so difficult for people to form relationships nowadays. I work with lots of single people who are desperate for love so its lovely when I know of people who do find love!

Things are good with me. I'm not quite back on the Weightwatchers yet, but I'm making efforts to eat more healthily and I've noticed I'm less bloated. I bought a weightwatchers calculator so that I could track what I'm eating, but I haven't used it yet. I think I'm going to sign up for a monthly pass to get the WW info and then I'll go it alone. I also need to get some new bathroom scales, as mine broke a couple of weeks ago (not sure which child to blame).

Gloriously sunny day here and I think there are a couple more coming this week:D.

Yesterday turned out really warm and sunny so I wore my new (to me) Jack Wills navy broderie anglaise sleeveless shell top with my silky trousers as the colours are an almost perfect match. As we were walking, I had to wear my navy espadrilles although they are a bit scruffy. I'll definitely look out for a new pair in the sales or early next season.

Its not a bad idea to work towards a full blown 'diet' chanie. Whichever plan we follow (or none) I think we all know that it's best to eat lots of healthy fruit and veg, lean protein, sensible portions of plainish (so not full of cream or fat) carbs and keep high calorie things like sweets, biscuits, alcohol etc to treat status rather than an everyday occurrence. I think the diet plans just help to give a structure.

We threw out our bathroom scales years ago as we didn't like what they said and they were gathering dust.:o Now I just weigh (at SW but could be anywhere) about once a month and in between I just use my clothes to let me know how I'm getting on. Clean jeans can be an eye opener! I think if you do weigh at home it's essential to be disciplined otherwise it can become an obsession.

I'm having a cut and blow dry later, just a trim to get the shape back properly and cut my fringe. Then it's dancing tonight again. I'm planning my pink/grey/green White Stuff skirt with a grey tee shirt which tones down the patterned skirt.

Hope everyone's having a good day.:)

I agree, I definitely need a bit of structure, maman. I think it will help to keep me focussed, whilst I get my eating under control.

I went to a luxurious, elegant club in the City of London with my daughter to see 'The Theory of Everything' in the club's private cinema. We got free popcorn and soft drinks.

It was the sort of club that I have never been fortunate enough to frequent before and it was such a positive experience. It looked even better than it had looked on their website. The seats in the cinema are huge armchairs and they were so sumptuous and comfortable. :) One of the men in the audience even fell asleep and started snoring! :rotfl: His female partner must have been so embarrassed.

I wore my black sleeveless top and one of my black pull on skirts with my red waterfall cardigan and my red patent leather Van Dal sling back shoes. Lots of perfume, but no make up.

    Good morning lovely ladies.

    I'm back.:D

Had a lovely time, seeing lots of friends, family parties, a bit of sightseeing....far too much food and alcohol, an impromptu Karoake - lots of fun.

I'm tired and achey though, the journey out was fine but the journey home was trying. Eurostar strike didn't affect the actual running of the train as such, but it was obvious that there was a lot less staff round to help us with dad and the wheelchair.

As for the train from London to Derby. Much as I love rail travel I have to confess that British Rail really needs to do better. I know it's August and peak holiday time but it was a trial.

We had booked seats only to find that two men had taken them because the "reserved sign" wasnt showing. One men instanty leapt up and moved, but the other...........

Apparently he was extremely rude to my sister and refused to move at first, even though he could see us struggling to get dad seated. He told my sister that we should sit elsewhere.

I hadnt realised what was happening because I was too busy with the luggage. It was a damn good job I didn't hear because
After years of dealing with my husband's illness and the stick We sometimes got from the general public who just assumed he was drunk because of his slurred speech I have no fear of tearing a strip of rude, selfish ignorant people who make no allowances for the disabled, sick or elderly:mad:

I could see my poor sister was very shaken by the experience. A shame because up till then we had had such a good time.

Ruby.......what can I say. I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. Like the others have said you need to protect yourself and your children. I'm sure you must have some legal rights. Whether or not he likes it he has legal obligations to his children. The family board or benefits board might be able to point you in the right direction.

I think You should be entitled to an initial free discussion with a family lawyer. I think that might be your best shot. Then at least you will know what legal rights you have. I know legal aid is a bit of a minefield right now but even just one free session might be enough to help you get a grip with things.

Maman. HAppy Belated Annuversary. Glad to you had such a lovely day.

Chanie......I am now ready to join you in a proper diet. But like you I'm going to ease myself in gently.

Not only do I desperately need to lose at least two stones I need to make sure my blood sugar levels are under control. I am going to have to be a lot more careful. I do not want to have to resort to taking medication.

So this week it's a general "body cleanse" but without the colonic irrigation. :rotfl:

Starting today absolutely no sweet stuff, no grains, no starchy carbs. I have xylitol for teas and coffees but other than a little fruit that's it, no sugar, honey etc. Im not going to bother counting calories this week but just make sure that I "eat clean" to give me a head start and clear my system of carbs.

Next week I shall go a little further and restrict my calorie intake, using a combination of strict Paleo/Mediterranean and the 5:2 eating plan. I think I will find that more sustainable and easier that the strict 800 calorie a day Blood Sugar Diet plan.

I need to book some blood tests but I'm also going to buy a blood sugar monitor so I can check which foods Do the most damage to my insulin response and which keep it more stable.

I get back to my ohysio treatments next week too so it's all on now to get fit and healthy. I have decided against an autum holiday so I have a clear run until February to sort myself out.

We can do this together Chanie. I will be your diet buddy......and of course anyone else who wants to join in.

Today I'm gojng to catch up with some paperwork and laundry and just potter about and enjoy this glorious sunshine. .

    Have a Fab day.

Glad you're back safe and sound LL. It sounds like you had a really good time despite he trials of the train travel. Poor customer service is a hobby horse of mine, sadly I'm seeing it everywhere as employers keep cutting back on staff but expecting the (disgruntled) remaining people to do more.

A few years back I was taking a group of 30+ children to Cornwall by train only to find that our reserved seats had people sitting in them. The guard was nowhere to be found (locked away in his little cabin) so I took the whole group to first class and sat them there. He appeared instantly ( they must have CCTV) and told me I couldn't sit there. I replied that I'd willingly move to our reserved seats but all he could offer were random places throughout the train which would have made supervision impossible. We travelled all the way to the West Country in First Class!:D Fortunately the other passengers who had looked horrified when we arrived complimented us on their behaviour.:)

That club sounds very swish sugarbaby. You really are having a fantastic break from work.:D

The structure of SW has certainly helped me. It's 5 years on Thursday since I reached my target weight and I've stayed there ever since. :jGood luck to chanie and LL.

We're off to lunch with friends today. It's at their home so we'll have a BBQ in the garden and the weather is glorious. I'm wearing my sleeveless broderie anglaise shell top (it's getting plenty of airings so has paid for itself already) with my floral pencil skirt. I'm delighted with my hair and resolved not lo leave it too long before getting it cut next time. It looks so much better with the bob cut sharply.

    Have a good day all.:A
