LL I would complain to the train company about your lack of reserved seating, they can't avoid repeating if they don't know that there was a problem.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

You're right. I told my sister to do that (she did the bookings etc).0

ll welcome back. Am pleased you had a nice time, other than the train situation. My train company has been in the press due to ongoing strikes. I can still get to work, but it's taking me 20 minutes longer each way. It doesn't sound long, but I work compressed hours, so it's making a ling day even longer.
I had an important meeting at work today, so I made the effort to look nice. After the meeting, I decided to go back to work via Covent Garden, so I could wander around the shops. It really made me realise how my shopping habits have changed in recent years. Since having the children, I don't get the time to browse in store, so I will either search online for a specific item (e.g. mid blue, boyfriend jeans)or, I browse my favourite stores online and pick something up that way. It was delightful (my new word) to go in a store I haven't been to in ages and see things I liked. My method is efficient, but in some way, takes the fun out of shopping.
I popped into M & S and tried on a couple of tops which were in the sale. I'm kind of pleased they didn't work out, as it means I didn't buy anything.
I did try on a silk dress in All Saints that I'm thinking about. The size I tried on didn't fit my boobs, so I'll need to try on the next size up. The dress is expensive, so I'm umming and aahhhing about it. It is my birthday in a couple of weeks, so I could buy it with birthday money. I seem to be loving dresses at the moment and when I'm looking online, dresses seem to be the area I look at first.
I was really hungry today, whilst shopping, but I held off heating until I got back to the office, where I had half a carton of tomato soup and some sushi. I resisted the urge to buy lunch whilst shopping, which is unlike me if I'm hungry. I need to focus on not eating after dinner, as I had some crisps after dinner and I shouldn't have, ad dinner should have filled me up. I was good today otherwise.
maman pleased slimming world has worked for you. I tried it, but couldn't get on with it. I don't think the leader explained it very well. I have done Weight watchers before and I liked the fact that you could eat whatever you want, provided you pointed it. With slimming world, I found it difficult to think up meal plans based on green and red days. I don't think the leader explained it well - I get the theory it's just the reality I struggled with0 -
Good evening ladies, where has this last week gone?
Ruby, some good advice already given here so I am sending you a:grouphug:
Maman, belated anniversary wishes :beer:Sorry, no champagne smiley.
Sugar, I'm pleased you and Wayne are working well, it's all about compromise?
Welcome back Twinnie
Now I'm going to read all the posts I have missed.
Good night ladies.

Good morning lovely ladies.
Just back from the hairdressers - had a cut and colour so feel I look much better now. It was really straggly. Anyway as part of the new and efficient me I have booked my next appt to ensure that I don't leave it too long.
Off out tonight with my boys and DIL for a meal and then cinema so going to have a nice lazy afternoon.
I have ordered a couple of winter coats from JD Williams, sorry cannot do links but I'm sure you can find them easily if you want to take a look. They were reduced in the sale and I also got a 20 per cent discount as a new customer so I have ended up with two winter coats for less than £60. Bargain. One pink and one red, so nice and colourful for dark winter days.:D
Oh and I think Tu at Sainsburys have got their 25 per cent thing going on this week if anyone is in the mood for shopping.
Right time for lunch.......
Hope you are all enjoying this weather, I have heard it's going to break soon.. So we need to enjoy whilst we can.

I'm going to get out into the garden and potter a bit later. I don't care if I achieve very little I just want to be out in the sunshine.:)
Wow! TWO winter coats. I definitely need a new long one for the winter. I just hope there are some styles I like.
I'm getting drawn to dresses too chanie. I've mentioned the weekly fashion pages in my newspaper before. Today's feature is on dresses. I did laugh at the reference to the 'wisteria sisters' (Kate n Pippa) and their love of dresses. I want something that wouldn't be too dressy to wear as smart casual but isn't so skimpy (sleeveless or short) that it can't be worn in normal British weather.maman pleased slimming world has worked for you. Slimming World has changed lots since the days of Red and Green. They now have a main plan called Extra Easy where you can eat whatever you want too. Try taking a look at the 7 day sample menu on line and it'll give you an idea. They even do a few ready meals but I've not tried them and the range isn't extensive like WW.
We had a lovely afternoon yesterday having BBQ lunch with friends. I actually got to top up my tan with some real sun rather than from a bottle. I'm glad you like your new hairdo LL. Friends complimented me on mine yesterday which is always nice. Hope the same happens to you. What colour have you chosen?
Enjoy your day all whatever you're doing.:)0 -
Lol.....it's still basically white.....not a lot I can do about that.;)
This time I have gone for both low lights and highlights to "warm it up".
Although I would love to go back to my auburn tresses, the maintenance would just be too much. My Belgian cousins wife has hers done a very deep red - a la Mary Portas.
I would love mine like that but because my base colour is devoid of any colour pigment iyswim - it is literally white - it just won't "take" or if it did it the colour would wash out or fade within a couple of weeks.
By having highlights etc I can make it last 12 weeks, no root regrowth line to worry about. I will probably add more lowlights over the winter, maybe a bit of red/gold. I can't do it in the summer because the sun just strips out colour too quickly.
My niece has done hers green over the school holidays. We call it mermaid hair.
They went to the beach at Ostend and my sister buried my niece in the sand, making her a mermaid tail out of sand. Then they spread her long turquoise green hair over her shoulders and added a few sea shells and my sister took pictures of the "mermaid".
When she had finished a little boy walked passed and stared, then he brought his mum to see, then his grandmother, then his older brother. Bless him he really thought he was seeing a real mermaid, he was so excited.
Pretty soon there were lots of people gathered round photographing "the mermaid". :rotfl:0 -
Good evening ladies,
Chanie, it would make me so cross if I did not get a seat on a train  There was one man (I'm sure there are many) on the news that claimed he could not get a seat in 1st class! And another 2% increase in fares again:eek:
Sugar, Nerve looks interesting, did your son and daughter enjoy it?
Maman,Twinnie your mention of hair do's reminded me of the time mine was pink, blue and yellow  It was during Holi and I was smothered in coloured powder :rotfl: At that time I had high/low lights in my white hair, but because peroxide was used the coloured powder clung to the porous hair  I actually liked it and had many compliments, it finally faded in about six weeks.
I noticed that many women in France also go for the deep red/auburn hair colour.
Watching the Olympics is making me sooo tired! Last night I went to bed before midnight and slept for nine hours  I'm hoping for the same result tonight.
Good night ladies

LL, it sounds like you had a great break (trains aside!) and have enjoyed yourself since your return with a spot of well deserved pampering
great bargain spotting too with the winter coats!
I haven't been to SW for ages maman, too many other costs to take into account, but I agree that it's now much easier than WW - or I found it that way, at least. Couldn't get my head round the new WW points at all whereas SW you get a good basic range of foods for 'free' and an allowance for treats. Either way I hope you find a suitable diet plan chanie, with a good group leader if you decide to go along; my local lady was nice enough but not exactly inspirational.
Sugarbaby, what an amazing time you're having with these cinema trips! I went to one at a posh hotel in Covent Garden last year, such lovely seats and the same cost as our local cinema if you booked in advance (although of course we had the cost of travelling into London too). Our local cinema is around £10 per ticket now just for a 'normal' seat, crazy.
Not much to report from me, I still haven't heard back about my housing options, the 5 working days I was quoted are officially up tomorrow though..... haven't discussed OH's outburst with him yet until I know what I might be entitled to. I asked MIL to look after the boys one morning this week so I could visit the CAB/ a family solicitor (not that I told her that!), however apparently it takes her and FIL five days to get ready for a caravan holiday 50 miles away, they were too busy to do it
OH has gone from screaming at me to leave, to asking if I wanted a new car?! I feel very confused, but exhausted more than anything, from worrying about what he said to constant looking after lively babies, and never getting a proper night's sleep as I'm always on baby duty and most nights end up sleeping on the nursery floor to escape from OH's snoring. It's at the point now where I really ache and my back hurts, but if I say anything to OH he starts going on about his bad neck from a car accident years back. I've realised that he's quite a controlling person - keeps telling me I have to go back to work because I have no money and can't afford a nursery, so the boys will have to go to his mum's - it doesn't matter if I don't want to work full time and/ or a nursery would be good for them, it's what he wants that counts.
Anyhow I am biding my time until I know my rights - and how much money I might be entitled to! - and then we will have a 'discussion'. In the meantime, thank you for all the hugs, they are much appreciatedFinally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
I've noticed lots of French women with that red colour hair too Carmen . It seems to be the fashion for those of 'a certain age' although I can't say I'm a fan.
My own hair is naturally a very boring mouse so I've had highlights all my adult life. Years ago all they did was platinum blonde with those awful caps. Now I have a mix of golden blonde and caramel.
I had a good afternoon in the garden, enjoyed the sun and did lots of tidying up. If the weather holds I'm motivated to do a bit more. Hands are very dry so I'm going to give them a good creaming before I go to bed.
I'm really enjoying the Olympics although heard more on the radio than watching in the early hours. Looking good in the hockey at the moment.0
