Great news about the assessment, Maman. Thanks for the tip about the Moussaka, I think I will try and give it a go this weekend.
LL well done about receiving your insurance money. These things can take time, so its good that they have sorted it out quickly for you. Am also pleased your 'spot' has cleared up.0 -
Just popped in to see how you got on maman. So pleased it's good news
Take care ladies - be back soon for a proper catch up!0 -
I've started to shower after the gym, if I come home with the intention of going in... something else needs doing and then I have to just clean myself up and stick my hair in a ponytail.
I like walking out the gym not looking a mess, I normally go into Tesco on the way home so I feel better
Thanks maman for the advice on putting a wardrobe together, I've being thinking about this... I tend to wear jeans with spaghetti strap tops (normally purple or reds), I do have dresses in my wardrobe that I love. I konmarie my clothes a few weeks ago when I hit maintenance which was good, but it left me with very little as I was ruthless
I love tight jumpers, so will look out for those.. as all but two of my jumpers went (either didn't like or far too big)
I'm going to take myself off out to the charity shops in town and also look on ebay, I have very little funds so this is going to be my greatest obstacle!Grocery Challenge - Aug 407.97/£320 - NSD 3/5
September 195.19 / 300
Konmarie my house along side being a flylady!0 -
Looking for tips, I need some flat comfortable shoes/pumps that don't make me look like I'm 106 or that I have a condition that necessitates me wearing them please!0

Maman, great news about your results :j
Twinnie, I was an olive oil virgin (see what I did there) once  After one beach holiday (30yrs ago) my skin seem to lose all it's moisture  My arms and legs have not been the same since:( I have never sat out in the sun since.I catch the sun very easily anyway. I think the summers of yesteryear were not as searing as they are now, or was it that we had definite seasons so were better prepared?
Today was a little cooler so I was sanding shutters, thankfully my DH will be painting them:) I don't paint well!
Good night ladies

Hello Ladies,
Maman great news for you with regards to your mammogram
LL it is a shame you had to be in car crash to get 'rich', I wish you could have had a windfall without getting hurt. Enjoy your holiday even if you are still feeling the after effects of your car crash
I went to Birmingham last Friday to stay with my 2 older sister's. We had priority entry for the 02 Academy to see Beres Hammond, Maxi Priest, Janet Kay and Caroll Thompson, so we had front row seats in the balcony. All 4 singers brought their A game to the concert. My sisters and I were singing along and standing up to dance. We had a fantastic time. The concert finished at 4 am Sunday morning and I did not get to bed until 5 am. :j
I was woken up at 8.15 am by the sound of my sister Ruth talking on the phone and even though I was really tired I could not get back to sleep.
I travelled back to London on Sunday and I went to Karaoke without going home. I got my son to come and pick up my suitcase from me at the bus stop, before getting my bus to Karaoke. I had a great evening at Karaoke. I spent the evening with Wayne. He was very attentive and we had so much fun together that we are giving our relationship another try.We had both missed each other terribly and Wayne has finally realised that we have to have a more equal relationship and that I do not want to be 'spoilt or treated' if he does not give me the opportunity to 'spoil or treat' him. He has also promised not to be so pushy about our future as he now accepts that there is no guarantee we have a long term future together even if he is sure that he Loves me. I am far more cautious about the L word because I want to get to know a lot more about him before I throw caution to the wind.
Yesterday evening I went on a date with Wayne to my local Nando's, then we went to a local pub for a drink and a long chat. We had a great time together.0 -
Just heard about the Eurostar strike........
We will be fine getting there, not sure about getting back.

Yes, I heard about that this morning and thought of you. I suppose it's better this way round in that if you're staying with family you could extend your stay if needed.:)
It's hard to keep up with you and Wayne sugarbaby. :rotfl: You obviously enjoy each other's company so hopefully this time he'll realise you don't go for/aren't impressed by the 'kept woman' scenario. Glad you had a good time with your sisters although the schedule sounds exhausting!
:wave:topgirl. That's a difficult one to answer as I know exactly what you mean about looking 102 in some shoes:eek:. My most comfy/supportive pair of shoes if I'm going to be on my feet all day (like sightseeing) are Sketchers but they do have the look of school shoes about them. I'll only wear them with jeans/trousers where they sort of disappear at the end of my legs. I have ballet pumps which are OK provided you don't have to walk too far or too briskly but they aren't really supportive. If I'm splashing out I like Dune (sometimes to be found in TKMaxx) otherwise I have some reasonable supermarket ones. Then there's Converse or trainers (Sketchers do a trainer style too).
Good on you being ruthless matody. In some ways it makes it easier to decide what to wear when you only have a few favourite things. Obviously tops with spaghetti straps have been OK in recent weeks but what would you wear when it gets colder?;) I have stretchy camisoles that I wear under sheer things and some lovely floaty camisoles but they're definitely for very hot weather and evening wear.
I read an article in my newspaper today about Supermarket chic.

It seems there are a number of Indian/Aztec style blouses around for the autumn and other interesting bits. There's a denim skirt coming into Sainsbury's too chanie (not in link) but hard to tell the length from the photo I've seen. I'll certainly be checking them out in September and if Sainsbury's do their usual 25% promotion too it'll be very mse.:money:0 -
Our host has just texted to say don't worry - stay as long as you like....:D
I have an eye test booked for Tuesday, I'll postpone it just in case.
Thanks for the link. MAman. Looks like we Fabbers have been trend setters all along, we've been well ahead of the pack with our Suoermarket Chic. No flies on us.!!
I actually like Tu clothing, it washes and wears well. And as you say their 25 per cent off weeks make it very MSE. They also have a more or less permanent clearance rail in our store - always worth a look.
Had some great news this morning....... Another little windfall on its way. That makes two this week. I wonder if I can go for a hat trick. Maybe a nice premium bond win?????
Well they say things come in threes........:rotfl:0 -
Ps I gave a big cardigan coat in that blue and white Aztec design....I get loads of compliments when I wear it.
I agree about shoes.....I had a real headache with walking shoes in Barcelona. This time for Belguim I'm taking my most comfortable walking shoes - all those cobbles in Ghent and Bruges. Sandals won't cut it, I would end up with a twisted ankle.
Yes they look like school shoes but like you say not too bad with longish jeans or trousers.
For best and "prettiness" I do wear a small heel. Flats just make me look and feel really frumpy.0
